Chatter country codes

Featured Replies

hi guys,i have found some chatter files for the netherlands that i would like to add. what is the country code for this and where can we find a complete list of these codes? thanks :)just one other question, you have chatter files for ATC split up into ATC1, ATC2 and ATC3 being low, high and super high altitudes respectively, what are the values for these altitudes, what is limit for high and where does super high begin?thanks!take care,matthewhttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/837308/2072.png

Hi Matthew,There is a section in the manual (p135) on adding your own canned chatter. It's not the most intuitive of systems but, once you get your head around it, it's actually quite flexible. Remember, the naming conventions must be adhered to.If you want a list of centres open the file z4.csv in rcv4dataYou'll see the number of the corresponding winwood folder and the centre name.As for the limits of the strata, I'm sure it's in the manual somewhere! - which, in truth, means I can't remember exactly ;-)All the best,John

HelloHas this been raised before?Am I right in thinking there is no "chatter"for:- 1.Italy.2.New Zealand.3.France.I've so far flown RC4 in Spain,USA and UK and there is always chatter there.Sounds good too apart from a few conflicting runways etc.Is there going to be any for these areas or is it a question of adding your own?

all someone has to do is record, follow the naming standards (it's in the manual), put it in the right winwood directories (it's in the manual), zip it up, and upload it to avsimsome countries aren't too happy about you recording their atcif you need help, email me at [email protected]

"some countries aren't too happy about you recording their atc"well i am not happy about paying taxes, so i guess we are even :)as for France, i know there is no ATC for them. i downloaded some EuroControl ATC chatter files from FlightSim and am using them as the High Altitude chatter. works great.

did you find the section in the manual useful in the naming standard and where to place the wavs, so they play?jd

hi jd,i got them to work just fine. was a great way to get some new wav's in there. easy too. i just downloaded them, used 'Flash Renamer' (shareware) et voila. i am using them in all countries covered by eurocontrol in the higher altitudes :)i guess that you guys have most ATC chatter files available on the web in use... i saw some 'readme.txt' files still in the folders themselves.*tip* there is a way to record streams straight off of winamp when listening to ATC channels, is this what you used? i you would like, i could record some for for example atlantic routes. this program does save them as mp3's, each transmission as individual files etc... what do you use to convert them to .wav's if i might ask....?

i use ckrename to do all my renaming.over the many years of v1, v2, v3 people have submitted their recordings, and given us permission to use them. (that's key for us). then we rename them, and put them in the right centers, or countries, and make them available on the cd.we've reached a point where we are dropping pilots and controllers so we can fit on a cd. future versions, we will probably dump the canned chatter in lieu of real controllers and pilots. we'll make some sort of arrangement where they can be downloaded.i thought about recording the stream off the internet, but the rights issue bothered me, and i was unclear if i could include those recordings in a commercial product, so i decided against. better safe than sorrysound forge and wavedit are the tools of choice for our wav edittingjd
