?? about new voices & old

Featured Replies

Downloaded and installed the new voice files from Avsim today. They seem to not have previews to hear the voices like the original ones have. Is this intentional or did I miss something? They appear in the voice list, just no preview! One of the original english (American) voices is pronouncing Colgan,as Calgon! Can this be corrected!. I am not sure whose name it is.Rick

works here. do you have wav files in winwood20?, 31?jd

Are the new folders going to over write the old ones in the V4windwood folder? All but one have wavs already in them.Eddie

probably, if you say yes to overwrite. if i remember, you had an early cd copy of rc, which had different controllers in different directories.i probably need to give you a production cd, so you can uninstall, install, and unzip. send me an email, with your snail mail address, and i'll put one in the mail tomorrow.jd

Found the problem. It was the way I originally unzipped the files. Had to d/l them again and all is well! Now if we can get that one voice to stop calling Colgan as "Calgon"!!Rick

Bill Worth is the pilot who mispronounced Colgan.Rick

jdI have downloaded and extracted all the new wave files but the new controllers / pilots are not showing up as options under "Voices" in RC4. I have checked the file structure under RC4Winwood and it looks sensible and the directories 20, 58 etc all have wave files in them and also have a text file giveing the controller/pilot name. Can you suggest any other checks i could carry out to see what has gone wrong.ThanksGraeme
