February 11, 201016 yr I don't know why FS is refreshing on its own. AI will refresh on any time adjustment. One thing is be sure that any weather writes are complete after a flight loads and then refresh the AI by advancing the time a minute so they will arrive with the updated weather that RC sees. Also, are you using any add-on such as a traffic program that inserts AI on the fly? UT 2? Any weather add-on doing this?AI after a refresh will arrive in clumps playing catch up to their schedule within a certain time window. (The same is true for the wild taxi of AI to take-off.) "if there are no ai in the air when you get your runway assignment, and then all of a sudden a whole slew of the appear out of thin air to land, not much i can do there".The above quotation was from JD. I was having a problem in the air with TCAS having to tell me to descend immediately due to traffic and not RC. I think I fixed it. My ini file also read 40 instead of 0 like what was addressed earlier in this posting. I've changed that. My immediate question is why do aircraft automatically "appear out of thin air"? That seems to happen to me quite often. I'll be flying along and all of a sudded FS will refresh/reload and as soon as everything comes back up i'll be surrounded by 3-4 aircraft, some of which are coming right at me.Thanks,Chris Porter
February 12, 201016 yr I'm not using any weather programs other than setting the weather up myself based off what I find online for weather for given airports. "AI after a refresh will arrive in clumps playing catch up to their schedule within a certain time window" sounds like a good explanation. Maybe the weather is getting refreshed putting ai aircraft in clumps around my aircraft. Thanks,Chris Porter
February 12, 201016 yr Once the initial weather takes effect you should not see FS bounce or refresh and restart AI. The question is, what's causing it. It is not RC. FS dynamic weather to my knowledge should not be doing that. What add-ons are running in this situation? Any time-zone applications, etc., and what is your traffic application if any. Just some things to think about. You can use the freeware Traffic Look that comes with FSUIPC or now a separate download from here:http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/TrafficLook.zipthat creates a window you can alt-Tab to to see AI status tables (it does require FSUIPC to be installed and should work with RC's use of it) and look at what they are doing if a TCAS gauge is not on your aircraft.
