January 30, 200719 yr I had asked this some months back but now I can't locate the message. It concerned the runways that RC uses both for AI and my user plane. I understand that RC doesn't control the AI's but it does seem to give them some direction, whether or not they adhere to it. Question is, does RC negate the need for setting up 'Star' runway systems to activate multiple runways? It's a tedious process, though it does work quite well if you do it right. It seems that RC uses runways normally not used by FS9's own ATC. Appreciate you refreshing me on this. Thanks
January 30, 200719 yr Commercial Member i don't understand the star runway system.rc runway selection is easyno ai, then i choose the runway with ils equipment into the windno ai, no ils, best runway into the windif there are ai, then i choose the runway the ai are using. if all of a sudden the ai change, you're left with the first runway choiceyou can change runways anytime you want, but careful what you ask forjd JD Read my blog
January 30, 200719 yr RC does not choose the landing runways for AI. To allow AI to use multiple runways that are not parallel, an FS limitation, the star system of creating very short runways with 6 degree angle rotation and moving them off the airport a certain distance (to prevent false use by AI).The properly constructed star pseudo runways are ignored in RC's database building utility.Since RC, as JD states, will pick runways used by active AI first, this gives more of a selection. If you search various AFCAD libraries, you can find quite a few star runway AFCADs to download as examples.
