April 23, 200719 yr Hello. I was going to add some control zones, but have been stoped by the folowing moment. We have two files z4.csv and s4.csv, that have relation to c.zones.While order in z4 is quite clear for me (coordinates in this file are match like to oher bases, such as FSNav, the file number for speach "cntr_*" is also included, but - i wonder - there is now frequincy fo zone in this z4.csv), so, while i understand everything here- the second, s4.csv, - brings only questions, - multiple patches of 3-lines blokes for one control zone - why so stange, what is ZERO in this lines?...So, please, be so kind, explain me the structer in s4, and technology (exept voices generation) of ceating new zones for RC.P.S Why didn't you use only z4? Including thr frequinces to this file will provide comlete picture? Where i am not right?
April 23, 200719 yr Commercial Member i wouldn't mess with those fileswhat zone do you want to add?jd JD Read my blog
April 24, 200719 yr Aproximetly 20 zones on post USSR territory, several peaples translate voices into Russia now, and it will be perfect to correct zones. Aviacompany's callsignes've been done, so as weather section and aircraft callsignes. Remain zones and big phrases...Just explain me (for example i will take MURMANSK Fir): in z4 only 2 lines, first with X, second Y, started with wave file number.170,MURMANSK FIR,I,69.8,70,7............ 999170,MURMANSK FIR,I,30.83,31.13, ......... 999(i'm sugest 999 - it is height of zone, may be infinite ?)but in s4 - many, many 3lines blocks, with mantioned same freqancy and same name and so onMM1693,1,MURMANSK,132.1,170,IMM1693,2,90,90,90,79.33333,79.33333,0,0,0...MM1693,3,30,32,48.75,48.75,30,0,0,0,0,0,....MM1694,1,MURMANSK,132.1,170,IMM1694,2,79.33333,79.33333,......MM1694,3,30,39.375,39.375,30,0,0,.MM1695,1,MURMANSK,132.1,170,I.........what this? look like concentric polygones of same zone?Certainly, i can very quicly insert new needed zones in z4, but there is now slot for freqancy, and it's clear for me, that only this will not work.
April 24, 200719 yr Dear auther! So, would be any suggestion? If no, write: i'm not going to help. Save my time, please.
April 24, 200719 yr Commercial Member my comment earlier is still what i believeyou should not try to modify, add, or delete control areas.if you want to send me the lat/longs, names, etc of all these new zones, i'll make sure they are in v5jd JD Read my blog
April 24, 200719 yr I will do anything i want on my computer, with or without (one night more) help. What are the reasons of writing here zones for including in v5? Just look in normal navigation bases. It's realy strange that for such avianic country such as RF there is no even one completly correct zone (not saing about lack of them) IN COMERCiAL PRODUCT. Alez
April 25, 200719 yr Commercial Member backup your files before you do anything to the rc filesand then you can do whatever you want with themyou don't think i type in all of those lat/longs do you? they came from the scenery files.that is the source of my information.if you want to manually enter the lat/long of each vertex of each zone, that's up to you.but i'm recommending that you don't. but i can't stop you.programatically a lot depends on the number of centers, what their numbers are, the order in which they appear, etc. JD Read my blog
April 25, 200719 yr Just read attentively my second post. I asked about STRUCTURE LOGIC in s4. Why there so many coordinates for each zone (with accuracy even to 4th digit after dot), much more then in z4 per zone (by the way, existant coordinates in z4 much like to FSNAvigator's coordinates). And what was the reason to create two files except of one? May be you will connect me with programmer, if you are not this needed person? What have connection to hand-work with coordinates - it's my difficulties, to be more honest there is no any difficulty, small c++ program that convert FSnav structer to that is needed will do it. But i must understand logic of s4 prior.
April 25, 200719 yr Well. I was really stupid. While paying mutch attention to z4, i didn't check s4 for those non-existant zones. There are all of them. Now Just to insert number of new waves in s4 in right places (instead of zero), and then to add new lines for this (new to z4) zones to z4 (i think it will be needed - no zone in z4 - no zone to RC) And of course, make corrections to freq-s in s4, they are completely bad for RF.Tonight i will check this variant. Thank you for resistant. Resistant generates good suggestions some times.
April 25, 200719 yr Finaly, it works!!! I was comletely right. Only one thing i want to confirm. Looks like there is limit in zonez =400zones in z4. First time i add new as 401, - rc reported error in zone_initmodule. Then i've inserted it instead of 400th and it began to work!!! New zone is heared. And it is has correct geographic location (i have cheked this several times: flights with different corridors from central airport - zone ands in right places)So is there such limit, or now? There many zones that we don't need, and i can, of course, add new instead them....
April 25, 200719 yr jd,an off-topic question, but since part of the subject is Russia and v5 ...Do you have any news regarding the implementation of 'meters' (instead of 'feet') and QFE in Millimeters (mmHG) for Russia and other countries in v5 ?I remember I asked that already around a year ago, but by that time you were not sure if it could make it into v5.ThanksMike
April 25, 200719 yr Commercial Member it's on the list. we will have to create more descriptors for the zones, right now it is faa/icao. we'll probably add a foot/meter field for those folks still using metersjd JD Read my blog
April 25, 200719 yr Commercial Member 400 is the limit. guess i'll up that to 500.so you have a program that reads zones out of scenery files?jd JD Read my blog
April 26, 200719 yr "you don't think i type in all of those lat/longs do you? they came from the scenery files."JDif the source are the bgl flies, then how come the control boundries in RC don't always correlate to those in FS? Does RC "round" (for lack of a better term) those areas to avoid frequent handovers as is often the case with FSs ATC?I have no intention of fiddling around with those csv files, I'm just curious...
April 26, 200719 yr Commercial Member the reason there isn't as many handoffs, is i don't check to see what center you're in, every second. there is enough time between checks, to pass through some of the pointy areas between zonesjd JD Read my blog
