First Flight, 1 question

Featured Replies

Hello guysThis I just had my first flight using Radar Contact from VHHH to RKSI,My FP was "OCEAN ELATO A1 APU B576 OSN W62 ENKAS", departure was great, but on arrival, a few things happend. after ENKAS, I was dircted to the airport (HDG 270) runways 15 L&R were in use, I was down to 5000 ft, but still was not passed on to Approach, but I could hear the other aircraft were going to approach. so as I was just 4miles from the airport, controller said, that I was 4 miles from the airport and radar service terminated !!!!. so I asked for ILS on 15R, controller said maintain 3900 untill established, I was passing 33L at that moment, so I turned right on downind 15R and again turned final and established, still was not passed on to approach, when I established still didn't pass on to tower, and didn't get a clear to land. anyway I landed, and as soon as I touched down. two optiones came up, flight critique and end RC.It'll be great If someone could help me to see what I did wrong. Thanks Navid

my guess is that your altimeter wasn't set correctly. read the manual about transition altitudes and transition levels.were you told to descend to FL50 or 5000 - big difference..jd

The 2003 plates I have show that the TA is 14,000 feet. Make sure your altimeter is set to surface pressure when descending below that (standard pressure of 29.92 above). The Controller Page of RC will show the TA in its database for each airport. Also be sure you have acknowledged (7) all ATC commands if you have the comms.

Hello guysI had the TA right, I was down to 5000ft, not Fl050 BUT I just noticed something, I Loaded the FP again in the RC, and noticed for the arrival, (RKSI - Seoul) there were no frequencies at all, all the boxes were set to 0, I think that was most likely to be the case.

RKSI frequencies are in the database file so they should be showing up.Are by any chance you using any add-on scenery or AFCAD for this airport? Maybe it is missing from the other data files.Try installing the beta version of makerwys.exe and then run from RC the Rebuild Scenery Database.http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/MakeRunways_Beta_398.zipRename in your FS9 root folder your current makerwys.exe to hold it should you need to go back to it and then extract it to that same FS9 root folder. Then you MUST RUN FROM RC the Rebuild Scenery Database function answering OK to each window that pops up until the process finishes. The next time you use RC it will have updated airport data. The scenery rebuild process does not in itself provide frequency data but perhaps one of the other data files it does produce needs to be in order for the full airport properties to work and the frequencies to be effective.

Hj JD anf Ronzie.Made a new scenery database, and sorted, thanks for your help guys.
