Twice now I've been told to monitor tower while I'm taxing to the end of the runway behind AI. I get to the #2 position and my ADV display will show 2-About T/O but I'm not given verbal instructions to taxing into position & hold yet and the AI in front of me is stuck. No one is moving, no landing aircraft, no AI on the rwy. I can't recall checking other points of the airpot to see if RC4 has placed a ground freeze yet, but if I go to Traffic tools & delete the AI in front of me, I then get my "position & hold" instruction. Also JD (or someone) do you have to be at a specific point on the taxi way (ILS hold short node for instance) before tower will clear you to position & hold?Bobby

Rather then cranking up traffic tools to eliminate stuck AI, hit alt to bring up the FS menu bar, choose World, Time and Season, and advance the time by one or two minutes. This will get rid of all AI and they will reload.If it happens at a specific airport bring it up in AFCAD and run the fault finder. Make sure the hold-short radius covers the runway centerline (see AFCAD help.).Other causes of stuck AI can be too large an aircraft radius in its config file so FS determines there is a collision course with another AI. Sometimes I have where a threshold has taxiways on both sides of the entry points. AI can get stuck thinking they are in a nose to nose situation. For AI in this situation usually there is another entry point nearby and in AFCAD I'll remove all the taxiway links from the runway to the intersection of the next entry taxiway on the same side.
