July 1, 200718 yr 1. RCV5 control AI traffic rather than FSX2. When flying long flight the aircraft jump from top of climb to top of decent. This would be a option. This way you can make long flights managable in one sitting. 3. Have a way to edit flight plans so that you can add speeds and altitudes to the plans. This way you can plan step climbs and add SIDS and STARS with altitude and speed restrictions. This way ot wouls make easier to land at places like ASPEN.Dave
July 1, 200718 yr Commercial Member 1) that would be a whole new program. not in v52) you have pause at distance, set that for 200 miles. surely if you have enough time to get to cruise, before you leave for work or go to bed. then when you get back, you can fly the last 200 miles3) i don't think that made the final cut of v5 features. maybe v6jd JD Read my blog
July 1, 200718 yr 3:In V5 there are (not final) a few more departure options that will allow you to set up your own climb rate and state can not comply if aircraft performance is a consideration. On departure speed restrictions vary by FAA/non-FAA jurisdiction. (i.e. speed relief) and aircraft type (heavy or not). For arrival you can delay your descent (pilot discretion) after intitial descent order later in the procedure. For both you are allowed to request altitude adjustments. For SIDS and STARS if using an FMC or other LNAV/RNAV instrument make sure they are the same waypoints used by your FS plan for RC and the FMC. I put mine in the plan and import them into the FMC so RC and my FMC are synchronized. As you can do can do now you can elect to fly an IAP and you will not receive vectors or altitude control allowing you to use your FMC approach with set altitudes. For altitude control only you can fly under NOTAMS so RC stops monitoring your headings and altitudes, in other words it becomes an adviser but you will still need to cross any waypoints in the plan and meet crossing restrictions to get waypoint credit. With quite a few cockpit videos I have of airliners, the FMC and MCP are used for approach to comply with ATC. ATC is not bound to follow an FMC.Thank you for your comments.RC5 is still a long way off and things can change. All user input is read and noted.
July 1, 200718 yr Maybe a option could be that the flight would halt at the top of descent instead of so many miles out. Most of the time you make changes to flight configuration when the plane descents. So you could have two options one so many miles out or at TOD. Dave
July 2, 200718 yr With regard to step climbs, just file your route according to the first/iniital cruise level (do the same on the FMC). Once the FMC tells you that your optimum flight level is higher, request a higher flight level via RC, and when cleared dial it on on your FMC.[link:fs2crew.com]http://fs2crew.com/betateam.jpgPelle F.
