July 16, 200718 yr Just purchased Radar contact and trying to use it, I have some troubles with text displays:if I use ADVDISPLAY I like the format in a free section of my panel, but the FS screen is frozen (gauges not moving... FS runs but im not able to see anything moving on the screen). It seems that ADVDISP creates a second fake image of my 2D panel and of the visdible portion of the world outside.if i use FSUIPC to display multilines messages I have always on the screen the green bar showing the last radar contact feedback.Overall also trying to delete ADVDISP i continue to see the ADVDISP voice on the 'Modules' menu. Any suggestion how to sove this? I use FS9 and usually fly Wiclo B737PIC.Thanks in advance
July 16, 200718 yr Commercial Member delete advdisplay.dll in modulesthe green bar is coming from ms, right mouse click it, and close it. it should not returnyou can set a hotkey to turn on/off the fsuipc display. search the forum on the fsuipc.ini setting to enable the hotkeyjd JD Read my blog
July 16, 200718 yr You are right i deleted the ini file and not the ddl.About the real problem i have added to FSUIPC.INI the row:AdvDisplayHotKey=33,8Whitemessages=yesnow I see my radar contact inputs in white, but continue to receive the feedbacks from controllers on the green bar.Am I still missing something?
July 16, 200718 yr Commercial Member you have multiline display checked in fsupic control panel? JD Read my blog
July 16, 200718 yr Yes.Im able to avoid the green bar only checking option 'hide all single line messages'on FSUIPC.It seems that feedbacks from controllers are single line messages: the problem is that im not english native language, so, even if the quality of replays is really good, sometimes i loose some words if im not able to display the feedbacks, but that green row is really bad!!!Thanks for your help
July 16, 200718 yr Commercial Member you have display text set on the options page, don't you? that is what is causing the greenish window.uncheck display text on the rc options page, and see if that helpsjd JD Read my blog
July 17, 200718 yr Yes.. I have display text set on option page.I'll try unchecking it and let you know.. but I'll be still able to see the controllers feedbacks?
July 17, 200718 yr Commercial Member no. that is the purpose of display text. to display the text of what is spoken. it was originally intended for the hearing impaired. displaying it in ms message window was the only place to put it. i didn't want to clutter up the menu window.jd JD Read my blog
July 17, 200718 yr Looking around in some forums i have found the problem related ADVDISP (and also ActiveRadar that i have discovered just now was causing me the same issue of frozen panel and external word).I have a Nvidia 7950 GX2 set on Nhancer with AA combined 8x. Changing this setting to AA Multisampling 4x the problem disappears and I'm able to use ADVDISP and Activeradar.. hope to not loose some graphic quality. In any case ADVDISP is the only way i have to show the controllers feedbacks without the ugly green bar.Of course suggestions allowing me to set again my AA 8x are welcome. Thanks again
July 17, 200718 yr Commercial Member if you don't understand the controller, you can ask for a repeat with ctrl-shift-/ by default.if that works for you, turn off the display text optionand again, you should not have advdisplay.dll in your modules directory. fsuipc handles the rc menusjd JD Read my blog
July 17, 200718 yr You should still see the controller reply in the green banner without advdisp.dll in your modules folder as long as display options is checked in RC options. Be sure you are running FSUIPC 3.75 or better. It has been a while since I've had time to run RC 4 but I'll check it if you have a problem. On a long controller instruction it would cut off the last few characters. It might be system specific.
July 18, 200718 yr Actvating the display option on RCV4 I get the controller feedbacks in the green bar.. that is what i would avoid. If other solutions are not possible i'll uncheck the options hoping to understand the feedbacks also in critical flight phases.May be I'll try to build a gauge capturing the text. Thanks again
July 18, 200718 yr Commercial Member you can always ask for them to be repeated by hitting ctrl-shift-/ by defaultjd JD Read my blog
