October 11, 200718 yr Hi friends,I downloaded the above program a few days ago; on my FS2004 bar, under "Modules", I do not detect the ADVDISP, but the interface window appears anyway once I start Radar Contact. So I can use the program.Furthermore, the "Check for Updates"-tab does not appear on the main program panel. Are the above 2 items normal in the Version 4.3.3845 ?Thanks for a few linesBest regards,Rene Alder
October 11, 200718 yr ADVDISP.dll is no longer used. The window in the aircraft for RC is now entirely produced by fsuipc.dll. Also check the links under the topic regarding FSUIPC and Makerwys at the head of this forum to insure you have the latest versions. My RC4 is version 4.3.3843 since I obtained it via the upgrade path. The final assembled download or current CD may or may not have the check for updates. Mine does and states there is none.jd will have to answer this part.
October 12, 200718 yr Hi there Rene.Yea, I know how you feel, I too was looking for the ADVDISP when I first got RC4 for FSX a few weeks ago. The PDF manual should be updated to reflect those changes because it can catch people out. Well it certainly foxed me until I just started the program without it and to my surprise, it worked. I later found out that it's not used anymore.

Mine does and states there is none.Hi Guys,I just obtained my CD for RCv4 (v4.3.3845) and it does NOT have the "Update" button either...................I went to the trouble of printing ALL 294 pages of the PDF file because I wanted to do justice to this amazing programme but agree with the comment below...............the PDF should be updated to reflect the changes.I spent "ages" trying to find the ADVDISP - even downloaded and installed from the Schiratti site - only to find that while I can now make the AdvDisp window appear, it does not operate!!! The "default" (better) transparent window takes priority. However, I would like to be able to change the text colour as can be done in the original AdvDisp module...........Is there a way to do that???Finally (???) am I right in thinking that "Makerwys" is ONLY required for FSX? I am running FS9.>Yea, I know how you feel, I too was looking for the ADVDISP>when I first got RC4 for FSX a few weeks ago. November 18, 200718 yr Makerwys is necessary to both FS9 and FSX. It is called by the scenery rebuild function to extract data from your installed scenery.I'll get the text color setting (it is in FSUIPC.ini) when I return home. It is an option to use white instead of the default red, I believe or you can check the FSUIPC user guide.
November 19, 200718 yr Two handy statements can go in FSUIPC.ini General section and these work with the "new" transparent window (disregard the meaning of AdvDisp but keep it in the definition):To temporarily toggle the RC window hide/show with CTRL-X:AdvDisplayHotKey=88,10See the User Guide for the values of other characters. To get a white text color:WhiteMessages=YesAlways make a backup copy of FSUIPC.ini in a folder outside of FS before editing it.
