there is not radar contact 4.5 - the latest version is 4.3if fscommander can save a flight plan in fs200x/fsx .pln file format, rc can read it. that is all you need.jd

The "RC" export option probably is the old adventure format for much earlier versions of RC which is no longer supported.

hello JdUnfortunately this does not work as the navaid frequencys are truncated in the Fsuipc display window.I have spoken to Volker about this and he recommended to tick save as RC box in the FScommander save dialog. What i also found is that if you also tick save as .pln format as well you do not need to move the plan from the FSCFSplanRCfolder to your normal fs9 flightplan folder, it seems to save the .pln format correctly then. The trick is to have both boxes checked. All works fine now. This was with v8.1 and 8.2 it maybe fixed in the next release hopefullyThis is from an Email from Volker. The following text is not a workaround, It's been a part of the current version, but I have forgotten, that we have written this solution in the sourcecode. If you create a flightplan and you want to save them, activate the Box "RadarContact and save the flightplan. Now the plan is saving in the RadarContact Format into the following Folder: your FSCFolder example H:FSCFSplanRC. You have to load "THIS" file from this folder (and not the file from the Flightsimulator folder) into RadarContact. I'm sure, this will work. Please let me know the result. if the flight plan is saved in a fs200x/fsx .pln file format, there is not a problem.no one else's flight planner, that saves in .pln format is having this problem. why this one?if you load a .apl file into rcv4, you're losing some functionality, and the .apl file format is only there for backward compatibility for rc v1 and v2 userscan you send me the .pln that is created from his planner, and let me look at what is going on?maybe a screen shot of a truncated frequency?jd

Hello JdI must not have explained this well enough.Trust me there is a problem with FScommander plans saved in .pln formatThe FScommander plans have other information appended to them.The option to save in Radar contact format does not save in apl format but as a normal .pln file but without all the extra info.The facility was put into Fscommander in order to get round this specific problemHere is an example screenshothttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/179294.jpgHere is a FScommander plan in .pln format[Flightplan]AppVersion=9.1.40901title=KSEA to KPDX description=KSEA, KPDX type=IFRroutetype=1cruising_altitude=16000departure_id=KSEA, N47* 26.80', W122* 17.93', +000427.00departure_position=GATE D 10destination_id=KPDX, N45* 35.32', W122* 35.85', +000030.00departure_name=Seattle-Tacoma Intldestination_name=Portland Intlalternate_name=waypoint.0=, KSEA, , KSEA, A, N47* 26.80', W122* 17.93', +000427.00,waypoint.1=KK, TCM, , TCM 109.60, V, N47* 08.86', W122* 28.50', +000000.00,waypoint.2=KK, LAC, , LAC 328.00, N, N47* 00.48', W122* 33.39', +000000.00,waypoint.3=KK, BTG, , BTG 116.60, V, N45* 44.87', W122* 35.49', +000000.00,waypoint.4=, KPDX, , KPDX, A, N45* 35.32', W122* 35.85', +000030.00,[FSC]DepartAPCode=KSEA DepartNum=51DepartID=Gate D 10DepartType=GateDestAPCode=KPDX RouteType=1SID=STAR=WP=1,VOR,TCM,MCCHORD,47.1477,-122.4750,109.60,200.5285,19.902,1,3661WP=2,NDB,LAC,LACOMAS,47.0080,-122.5564,328.00,201.6708,19.902,1,3723WP=3,VOR,BTG,BATTLE GROUND,45.7478,-122.5915,116.60,181.1142,19.001,1,499Here is the same plan saved by FScommander for use with RadarContactwith the RC checkbox ticked, this works fine and was kindly added by Volker because many users had this problem[Flightplan]AppVersion=9.1.40901title=KSEA to KPDX description=KSEA, KPDX type=IFRroutetype=1cruising_altitude=16000departure_id=KSEA, N47* 26.80', W122* 17.93', +000427.00departure_position=GATE D 10destination_id=KPDX, N45* 35.32', W122* 35.85', +000030.00departure_name=Seattle-Tacoma Intldestination_name=Portland Intlalternate_name=waypoint.0=, KSEA, , KSEA, A, N47* 26.80', W122* 17.93', +000427.00,waypoint.1=KK, TCM, , TCM, V, N47* 08.86', W122* 28.50', +000000.00,waypoint.2=KK, LAC, , LAC, N, N47* 00.48', W122* 33.39', +000000.00,waypoint.3=KK, BTG, , BTG, V, N45* 44.87', W122* 35.49', +000000.00,waypoint.4=, KPDX, , KPDX, A, N45* 35.32', W122* 35.85', +000030.00,I hope this makes things a bit clearer, hopefully between yourself and Volker we might get it sorted out.Too many people assume that the FSCommander option to save for RadarContact will save in apl format it does not.http://www.freewebs.com/reading1871/30.jpg

Hello Jdon October 23 you asked for a screenshot and FSC flight plan output showing the problem RC has with FSC pln files. That same day i posted a couple of plans and a screenshot showing the output in the fsuipc window, I thought that you might have some thoughts on them. The problem still exists and the workaround that i mentioned works, but going forward it would be nice if RC and FSC could work better together. Both yourself and the guys at FSC offer great support for your products and togethrr you must be able to fix this as it would benefit both products.
