November 25, 200718 yr There is another thread here regarding non-responsive RC windows. If you have multiple windows (panels) open including on a multiple monitor setup, insure that the MAIN FS panel is active (focus) by clicking on main FS window such as a spot on your aircraft panel somewhere. Do not click on the RC window. Also see if any other application such as a keyboard enabled FMC is stealing keystrokes. You can also check for conflicting keystroke capture from another device.
November 25, 200718 yr ronzie.I am onlu running abacus ez-gps v4, which is all mouse clicks, and active sky x. If I tune in to wx brf first, I hear the briefing without key pressing 2,I acknowledge and thats it.I have attached the log here.My lines in the rc window are:12m/215/1176032m/215/124101-clr by CD ON 124102-wx brf on 12800whats the CD bit in line 1?Thanks in advance for any help
November 25, 200718 yr "CD" is your clearance delivery which is your route specifications delivered by RC ATC. When you get going you need to read and run the tutorials. :)You say you hear a weather briefing before pressing any RC buttons? If so please check the following:1. Make sure in your windows sound mixer that you have the wave file slider up. RC runs sound directly through the Windows sound mixer. If it is not enabled or it is muted you will not hear RC ATC.2. In AS I advise you to turn off flightwatch sound options. If the same as AS 6.5 they are on comm 122.0 and can be confusing. Turn off any flightwatch display options.3. In the FS sound adjustments turn down FS traffic (AI) for now so all you hear for comms is RC.4. In RC options be sure you have radio autotune selected. Now the only time you should hear weather is when running menu item 2, weather briefing. If working correctly it will repeat until you press item 1 to get and copy your CD. Please note that RC will advise a standby while it puts phrases together which takes awhile for weather delivery and CD because of their extended contents.I do not have FSX installed so I am not sure how RC would show up in the FSUIPC.log. You are getting the RC window so it must be functioning.Try running without EZ-GPS to insure the FS window has focus and EZ-GPS is not causing any keystroke capture or assignment conflicts. Remember that if necessary you can remap RC key assignments. If you have moved/dragged EZ-GPS which I think is a separate instrument window (I do not have it) make sure you click on the main panel so RC can receive keystrokes.Make sure in FS the auto-open ATC window option is off. You do not want the FS ATC menu window showing for now.Just for clarification the log in this forum we refer to is the RCV4.log created in the folder where RC resides. When you load RC and click debug it starts the log recorder. See this topic at the head of the forum. We need to take this one step at a time starting from a simple setting of just FS and RC running (with FSUIPC, etc.). This will insure another application is not capturing keystrokes.
November 26, 200718 yr I have carried out number 1,3,4. number 2 I could not find anything to do with flightwatch in Active sky X.Stll had some troubles, but I saw a post from jd to another simmer whereby he suggested changing the 1-5 keystrokes to ctrl+shift 1-5, and hey presto it worked!!!.Anyway I would just like to thank both of you jd and rozie, for the patience and help you have given me, and congratulate you on your work,I will most certainly recommend rc to any fellow simmers I meet.Once again thank you both.
November 27, 200718 yr Commercial Member something was using those keys, that's why sometimes you have to change rc's keys, to accomodate the other programs that may not be able to change their keysjd JD Read my blog
