Declaring an emergency

Featured Replies

Hi allOn two occasions when declaring an emergency I have selected to be diverted to the nearest airport. However, on both occasions the airports that RC selected seemed not to take into account my altitude and by the time I had circled to lose height it would have been quicker to have diverted to another airport which was further away but at a distance that was more suitable for my position. My question is should RC take account of altitude when selecting the divert or is it simply done on a "straight line distance" basis?I'm running RC 4.3.3845 for FS9.ThanksIain Smith

when you choose closest, you get the closest ones. remember, if you are 4000, closest means the closests. if you are 340, closest means the same thing.if you choose the option to get a list of airports to choose from, then you can make a more logical decision on where to divert tojd
