November 28, 200718 yr hi radar contact team my name is daniele and i have a problem whit turin airport i have the lago sim scenary for this airport and when i'm fly to turin the vectoring doing always a FL over the G/S for exatly 8000 ft for this reason i capture the LOC but not the G/S whit fs9 default atc the FL for this approch was 4000ft now there is a fix for that? i hope so (i'm doing the rebuilt scenary after install lago turin)tanks dani
November 28, 200718 yr Commercial Member what does rc say the msa is for that airport?i'm never going to descend you lower than that msa while vectoring you.you have two options.1) choose arrival notams, and 2) change the msa on the controller's screen for the arrival airporti guess that is 1 option, with two things you can do.actually, the other optionis to ask for an iap approach when you contact approach, and fly an approach on your own, from an approach plate for that airportjd JD Read my blog
November 29, 200718 yr Here's a reference to the approach chart:http://www.vatita.net/download/planning/files/LIMF_ils.pdfNote you can get all the procedure files (SIDS and STARS) from this site at http://www.vatita.net/?dir=download&pagina=planning/charts.Terrain only allows an ILS approach for rwy 36. If you need to land on 18 you would have to circle to land using the area east of 18/36 to maneuver.Because of the high terrain arrival only from the northeast to the south would be allowed at 6,000 feet dropping to 4,000 12 DME from the airport. RC averages terrain at a certain distance out and probably lists an MSA requiring a level of FL80. (Note the IAF (VOR TOP) MSA of 6,000.) This version of RC does not allow for such a difference in the MSA quadrants and used an estimated average for all arrival directions. If a pattern entry is necessary it would have to be a right hand pattern. In such an instance RC's generic rules might have to be overridden by using an IAP instead of vectoring and following the appropriate STAR. Note the high MEAs for some of the legs in the STAR descriptions.
