Dual ATC

Featured Replies

Hello, first post. I am having problems getting 4.3 set up correctly for FS9 in XP Pro. I set up the program as best I could as per the manual. I made a flight plan in FSNav 4 and saved this for FS2004 (not Radar Contact). I opened FS9 and got an adventure text box (FS9 style). I called up Real Weather. Next I opened RC and loaded the flightplan. Then I pressed start and went back to FS9. There was no green RC adventure text display although this was checked in the modules menu. I used key '2' (page 35 in the manual) to get a weather briefing. This produced both FS9 default ATIS and the RC ATIS transmitting together. When I tried to get a clearance using '1' RC didn't accept the transmission (I guess it was trying to use the FS9 ATIS frequency). I used the normal keyboard for the numbers, not the numeric keypad. The only other thing which might be relevant is that I have an FSFDT control panel loaded but it is not active and I am not using FSInn/VATSIM. I gave up on RC3 because I got exactly the same problem - dual ATIS. I could never sort it out. If you can advise I'd be grateful. Thanks.John

To get rid of the "dual ATC" you need to go into FS9 sound settings and deselect "Air Traffic Control".You don't get a green adventure text display, you should have a multi-line display initially with red text, though that can be changed to white.- Jonathan

Thanks very much to both. I just completed my first RC controlled flight. It was a joy to use once I got rid of the FS9 ATIS, and a huge improvement over the default ATC. John
