Not receiving your transponder....

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I've finally got RC up and running after some enlightening help. I've noticed that following takeoff and just as the climb phase has begun, I get a message from ATC (Radar Contact) saying they're not receiving my transponder. And RC only gives the following options "leave freq for weather, main 0, next 9".After using the default ATC in FSX, I've never done anything on this aircraft dealing with the transponder. My question is now since I have a more realistic version of ATC, do I need to do anything to provide transponder information for the ATC? What do I do when it asks for transponder info?- KareemFSXRadar ContactWilco Feelthere Airbus 319 addon

Hi Kareem, when you get your initial clearance you will be given a 4 digit transponder code, called a "squawk" code. You need to enter this into your aircraft's transponder so your aircraft can be identified by the controller.Steve

. . . and if your sim transponder is equipped with a mode knob, turn it fron off or standby to on/xmit.

where is that mode knob located? glareshield, pedestal, overhead, etc?

Hi,the mode knob or switch is normally on the transponder itself. The transponder is normally located with the nav/com radio stack but the documentation for whichever aircraft your using should give you its location.Steve
