    Synch MFD

    Hi Damascus,I've finally gotten to the point where I'm now comfortable with the Sync Orbit and Transfer MFDs. So, I think I can answer your question now.You are correct that the screenshot indicates that you'll be at Intersect 1 in about 22 million seconds (orbit 0). However, if you compare Sh-ToR (the time your ship arrives at the reference point) to Tg-ToR (the time the target arrives at the reference point), you'll notice that there's a discrepancy of 0.14M seconds. Now, if you look at DTmin in the left column of the MFD, you'll see that the difference is actually 142.6k seconds.So, although your and Jupiter's orbits intersect at Intersection 1, your ship will be 142,600 seconds early. To intercept Jupiter, you want DTmin to be as small as you can make it.   5. Well, for aircraft, you use a 3D editor. For textures, anything that supports the SGI bitmap format will work (e.g. I use Paintshop Pro).Where a tool would be nice is for defining moving parts.   7. Hi Jimmi and Chris! Fancy meeting you here! :-lolJimmi,The joystick works best in atmospheric flight. Once you get into the upper atmosphere and beyond, the stick is too much. Use the keyboard controls instead (i.e. air=stick, space=keyboard). For even finer control, holding down the Ctrl key when pressing the arrow keys will generate a fraction of the thrust from the RCS engines. This is particularly helpful for docking.Thus far, I've only taken the DeltaGlider, DeltaGlider II (highly recommended) and Shuttle PB from surface into orbit. I've also tinkered with the Dragonfly scenario where you put some modules together while in orbit.Reentry isn't bad at all. If your periapsis distance (PeD) is less than the planet, then you'll be re-entering. The hard part is knowing when to begin the reentry burn so that you'll be able to land where you want.The DeltaGlider II adds an extra level of realism with crew life simulation and lots of additional systems to manage.   8. I think the Voodoo3 might be limited to 256x256 textures. If you're using any hires textures, try removing them.Regarding scenarios, make sure that you have the ships to which they refer. If not, you'll need to download them.Another source of potential problems is a scenario that starts with an invalid radio frequency selected. When this happens, OrbiterSound could crash since it can't find a sound file to play for that radio frequency.   13. Got it Jim. Thanks! I noticed when unpacking that the Earth-hires texture package for Orbiter has a 16 MB dark side. I did a quick switch between them but didn't see an obvious difference. Have you compared it to the one you made? These units attach via the keyboard port, USB, serial, etc. I don't know of any that use the joystick port.     Is there a way to add to Orbiter's star database? Or is there already a star addon for Orbiter?
