1. Just in case there's still some question about the R-22, it's in the preview copy I received so I assume that means it'll be in the final. It's very easy to fly and has lots of detail including a rotating part (air intake maybe?) on the engine.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure? SMP,To add a central tank, add the following to the Fuel section of the aircraft.cfg:Center1=0.000, 0.000, 0.000, 55.000, 0.000The values are, from left to right, longitudinal offset (ft), lateral offset (ft), vertical offset (ft), total capacity (gals), unusable (gals). For gauges, you might want to check out some of the default FS aircraft but I'm not sure which ones have center tanks.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure? 11. Actually, Ronald's post got me to thinking that it'd be great to have a Tips and Tricks subforum in each of the development forums. That would make it a lot easier to find info about how to code this or edit that, what a certain XML parameter is for, as well as to post useful code/macro snippets for panels, scenery, models, etc.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

 13. That's right, Harry. Also, you lack any feel of motion in FS--a key ingredient.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)
 14. Using two sounds cards should work fine. If your motherboard has onboard sound, you can use that in addition to a plug in card. Which model of Sound Blaster is that Marc? You might just as well buy one for really cheap on eBay.Oh, double-check that you can select the recording and playback device in RW. I don't remember if you can. You'll need to do that so that RW will use the second audio device rather than the default one.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure? 15. I think it's more a matter of whether or not the pseudo-helo flight model even supports non-governed operation. You might have to wait for FS2004. I dunno.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)
 16. Interesting idea, Gordon. Currently, the "throttle" input adjusts the collective. I'm not sure if FSUIPC would give you access to the actual helo throttle but it just might. All the helos I fly in FS2002 have governors so you set the throttle to 100% and leave it there. Have you run into any models that require adjusting the throttle when changing the collective?Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)
 17. I've found that setting General Realism to one click below maximum works nicely. Don't use the maximum setting because the sim goes bananas. One click below max makes a huge difference.Oh, and setting the joystick to maximum sensitivity and zero null zone helps a lot too. Otherwise, you have to move the stick too much.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure? 19. Funny you should mention that. I originally was going to post about that and that maybe you should reverse the direction of motion. But, then the backpressure would be all wrong. So I'm not sure which is better, correct short-term or long-term G forces. If this was for an action game, I'd say the short-term G forces give the most convincing effect, but for flying maybe the long-term ones are more important.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

 21. That's quite a platform you've put together there, Roland!>The addition of plastic covering now has me completely isolated >from the surrounding, to improve the immersion factor. It does >not look very pretty, but it works.Make sure you get enough air in there! Don't want you to pass out. :-lol>You have to keep in mind that your head position wrt the rotation >point of the platform is influencing the perceived motion. In my >case I go up and down during pitch. But you also get some back pressure since the platform tilts, correct? So, when you pull back on the yoke, there's a small G component against your back.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums ModeratorRenegade/Seawolf Design Group (RSDG)

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure?
