  1. He should just give every person in the world 3 or 4 (or 5,6, or 7 ;) ) million dollars, that way everyone is happy! ;)46,000,000,000 / 6,000,000,000 = 7.6 (rough estimates on population, its like 6.3 billion)(I wish!)Jason :-wave
  2. How I deal with the failures in FS(In order from most used method to least used):-If it is an "exciting" situation, such as takeoff or landing, then I'll proceed since there isn't much to do, but this is mostly in the Flight1 C-152 or default C172 (with RealAir .air file, of course) and the steps have been carved into my mind from real life procedures...-Ctrl + C (usually in larger jets since I dont have the patience to use the POV hatchet to look around the VC for minutes, click, move round, click, move around, click, or do the Shift + # several times to check things)-Not even do FS at all :( Don't feel like dealing with its antics today...Happy flying,Jason :-wave ;)P.S.- Tom, >I will be sending you a bandwidth bill plus a certificate for 5 demerits. Please, let's not go there guys.I'll tell ya what, when I win the lottery I'll send ya a couple thousand a month, sound good? ;)
  3. Hey Iron Eagle,>so i would like to know how can i learn to fly ? how much does it cost Depending on where you live it can cost you anywhere from $3000-6,000 or even greater, depending on what you fly and how often you fly. I currently am flying every weekend in a Cessna 152 and it runs me about $120-130 a lesson on average.>how many hours do i have to spend for flying and learning... The FAA requires you to have atleast 40 hours, however I believe the national average is around 65 hours or so... You must have atleast 20 hours logged with a flight instructor and atleast 10 hours solo time. It also depends on what type of flight school you go to. You have two types- Part 141 or Part 61. Part 61 flight schools in simple terms teach you what you need to know in order to get your ratings (Such as Instrument which I'll tell you about later), in a "relaxed" atmosphere, you go at your own pace. Part 141 schools are periodically visited by the FAA and must have detailed, FAA-approved course outlines. Also, before you solo or get your license, you must have a Class III Medical, its basic stuff such as vision and all that good stuff... :(After you get your Private Pilots License, if you are after a commercial aviation job, you would then pursue getting your for Instrument rating, then Commercial, followed by CFI, then your ATP (airline transport pilot) then apply and get ready for whatever the feature beholds. As for the rest of your questions visit www.jetcareers.com - its an excellent website which will give you tons (and I mean tons!) of information about your questions from several points of view about the life of a commerical pilot. There are probably a few factual errors in here, so if anyone see's them, feel free to point them out, as I'm tired as anything...I'm about to be 16, in 19 days- which is when I can legally solo- fly the plane without and instructor(at the age of 16)... I've been taking lessons for about a year now...11.5 months to be more exact :-lol I have about 32 hours... :)If you have any further questions feel free to ask as there are thousands of guys around here willing to help. :) I won't be able to reply for about 16 more hours- sleep then school :)Welcome to the wonderful world of flying,Jason :-waveEDIT: Just saw your from Venezuela, disregard all my facts...
  4. >Sorry about that. I didn't want to cause any offence. I was just thinking that maybe it was this guy's first attempt at landing a plane himself. No need to apologize, Chris :) No offense taken, either :)It's very possibly it was his first landing, so on that note- congrats on bringing her down in one piece :D :-lol (to the pilot) Take Care,Jason :)
  5. I think it would be a bit more inconvienent because we would have to visit several different forums to see what we used to see in just one. Maybe experiment with the idea for a week and see how it goes?-Jason
  6. We just can't leave this topic alone, can we? :)
  7. >I see that you're a student pilot flying 152s. Congratulations on entering the world of aviation.Thank you, though I'm not particulary new...>Once inside, one thing which you may begin to notice is how very little the average layperson, media person or politician understands aviation. Noticed it several years ago when a local mayor decided to close my home airport.>Once you learn more about flying, you'll start to realize that the perceptions the laypeople have of pilots, planes, and most things aviation, are usually wrong, exaggerated or incomplete....Once you learn more about me, you would know I know just about eveything there is to know for your PPL-ASEL.>By the way, have you started on your short field landings yet? Many, many moons ago.If you look at this photographers 729 other photos, he seems to have a fairly thorough background in the field of aviation. I think he would know the difference between a short field landing and one thats just going to be...not so good.-Jason
  8. The Comment: TOO LOW!! Another student trying to kill his instructor? I thought this guy's goose was cooked! Ended up just getting his mains on the pavement but it was close as you can see!;) I think the photographer would have noted otherwise.
  9. I find my comments to not be that critical... telling someone they should apply throttle or made a go around isn't horrible, now is it? Maybe saying about his pride may be a bit "critical" but if thats the issue, that he doesn't want to go around, he should have a high degree of supervision.I'm aware we all we're inexperienced once, but I'm basing this post on THAT picture I linked to, not flying skills in general. You must be able to agree that he could have had better judgement.Jason
  10. Very Cool :DAVSIM with total domination. Note on FSPLANETS site, "Visited by over 35,000 Flight Sim lovers each day!"and "BEWARE!! THIS SITE IS ADDICTIVE." - oh? I never stayed on for more than 30 seconds :-lol and Allnodesarebusy, "The Worlds #1 Flightsim Site!" ;)Keep up the top-rate job guys,Jason :-wave
  11. Excellent shots, Fred :D Very clear and great angles + lighting :D Love #1 :DHappy flying,Jason :-wave
  12. Some of my favorite stupid labels:Superman Cape: This cape does not enable user to fly.Sleeping Medicine: Warning- may cause drowsiness.Hairdryer: Do not use while sleeping.Odd, huh?Jason :-wave
  13. Check out this picture: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/570962/M/Obviously this "pilot" can't ruin his pride (or atleast whats left of it) to do a go around but is more satisfied with risking his life, the instructors life, and potentially other peoples lives...It's not that hard to apply a but more thottle... I hope that student gets a long lesson on landings...Thoughts?Jason :-wave
  14. You guys notice this thread was started in August 2002? 21 Months ago... 1 year, 9 months...:-eek Wow. :-lol
  15. Hey Shay,>Have you tried the combination of CH pedals and the RealAir C172. Will Ihave real (well, close to real) responses? i'm using CH Rudder Pedals and they do increase the realism heavily, however they do not act like real pedals since they are spring loaded which means they will return to the center immediatley if you release them, which doesnt happen in real life very quickly>Is it worth to spend the ~100$ for this purpose? It feels kind of weird having pedals and a joystick, so I went and bought the CH yoke too, which I find to be a nice accessory. Sometimes for me though, if I use the pedals and joystick, when I use the joysticks Z axis and pedals together it gets kind of confused and cancels out the other you arent using as much. I.E. - Your taxiing with the rudder pedals but then you go to turn using the joystick, it wont work. >How do you find the C152 from Flight1? I'm taking my lessons on C152 so it seems to me better to practice on that though I heard most about the RealAir C172I also take lessons on a C-152 and the Flight1 bird is the best you can get. To my tastes however she doesnt fly like the one I fly, she seems to lack much power and stalls way too easily but others have said its spot on. The sounds don't really sound like a C-152 to me, also. The panel and VC on the other hand are fantastic and very complete.Jason :-wave
  16. Got a landing workout yesterday... did 8 landings with my new instructor, all of them were excellent except number 4 which I kind of dropped in... :-doh
  17. www.carenado.comPayware, but I think its the best you can get. Theres also an excellent Debonair in the library, even though its not what your looking for.. :)
  18. Is it just me or is the width of these replies getting thinner and thinner...:-hmmm
  19. Ken,>I do have that one. One thing I notice is that when I idle the engine, it shuts off. I can't figure that one out.Your using the FS2002 version. :)
  20. Jim,Working on a 172 panel or the whole package? :)
