  1. Hi Eamonn,You could do what some of the other guys apparently did last year: Take the FS2002 Concorde and use that. Not very realistic, but they had success doing just that!BGRDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  2. Hi AlexI agree with Greg. Have done several cross-atlantic flights now using ASV6. Finally, the dreaded sudden wind shifts are GONE! If you don't have it, get it. It is worth every penny/nickle/dime!!!BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  3. Hi Jeff,Interesting... However I've changed nothing in my computer or firewall setup: Nothing will be changed until after the race, and that has been the case for the last 2 weeks or so...Something else must be brewing here. Will just keep on trying!BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  4. Strange...I get the normal startup picture, with a latency figure around 200ms. But when I try to join, it just hangs there for 30 seconds or so, then exits with a message saying that 'Not all users could join', and obviously one of them is me.But my question still stands: Do we have an alternate server like last year?BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  5. Foggy as ####!!!Sorry, no pictures - too blurry!!!BrgdsSven Sorensen, EKCHhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/140619.jpg
  6. For once, some nice tailwind...BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  7. ...both yesterday and today. Are there any alternatives?BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  8. Hi Captain L,I think we have all tried to do something like that. For me, it's usually the other way around, though: I put on eggs to boil, then forget them because I'm flying... :)Don't be discouraged, grab the baton again! This is what the practice is for!BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  9. Hi arvoo,So, how WAS the Focke-Wulf to fly then?BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  10. P-51D with tanks :)BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  11. HI JeroenOuch! No wonder you chrashed with that amount of fuel difference. As to what could cause this, I'm completely in the dark!BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  12. Double post, sorry (not my own PC)BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  13. Hi ZackYes, I know you were disappointed yesterday, when the Concorde looked like your Phantom. The thing is, if the plane you're watching is not installed on your PC, it will just show the same you are flying in.Unles I'm mistaken, Alex will provide a few screenies. If you want to see more, download the racing journal from last year - great stories and great screenshots, also of The Mighty Lawndart.BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  14. HI GuysIf any of you uses Ray Proudfoots Fuel calc for the practice run, be sure to add 500nm. I just did the run, but had to divert to FBSK in a thunderstorm due low fuel. Thank god for autoland, couldn't see a thing!!!Thanks Gazer for making me believe I could do it.Have fun, I'm off to bed!BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  15. Hi GregThink of it this way: Once the baton is grabbed, no one else can do anything with it until it's released. And the only place you can grab and release it officially is on the forum. So I'd say it's only fair that the 'leg' time is from baton grab to baton free - on the forum! It also keeps us from dawdling once we have grabbed to baton :)BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  16. Hi Chris,No, I'm out. But I get the time next week, I will duplicate your legs, using saved weather from AS6. So I won't miss school - just the fun of multiplayer...BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  17. Hi JeroenMy former bos, who was a retired flight captain, had an almost similar saying:Any land you can walk away from is a good landing. If the aircraft is still useable, so much the better...:)BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  18. Morning,Yes, it would have been my best landing in the Mustang yet, except for... Lets' not dwell on that. So, what you're saying is: If this should happen (heaven forbid!) in the race, the leg is valid? I'll keep that in mind!BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  19. Hi guysGreat idea - but count me out! That would be 0100/28jan for me and I have to get up early and drive to Jutland for a family-thing (another christening, but NOT a crown-prince this time :)).So all in all, I'm offline for the whole weekend :(Have fune, everyone - and remember the gear :)BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  20. Well, err, hmmm.....Does a belly landing count? :( According to the Duenna it does - and it WAS a nice landing....Except I forgot the bloody Gear Lever!!!!:-mad -SIGH- Well, better now than in the race, but it still makes me mad at myself. Ok, I think it's only the 2nd time I've done that in all my years of flying :-violin (except in the beginning, of course), but it is still at least 2 too many! The Baton is back at OABN!Sven Sorensen, EKCH
  21. P-51D, surplus :)If only I could be certain to catch a lightning flash, I could have made a couple of great screenshot, even if it's dark.BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  22. Hi allOk, here's the Duenna I was talking about. As you can see from the the start and landing time, something strange has occurred - yet Duenna reports the flight valid.Shouldn't Duenna react to this?BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCHhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/140077.jpg
  23. Hi JeroenThis is not a question of time zones: I changed the time in FS (while flying with Duenna running!) from night to day, and Duenna didn't report this as cheating.Imagine you're coming to a non-lit airport. You can't see the airport, but then you just make it day. Just as you flare, make it night again, and the flight is valid! Not that we here at Team Avsim would ever resort to this kind of thing!:-halo My question still is: Shouldn't the Duenna catch this? This is just as bad as mid-air refueling (which it DOES catch)BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
  24. Hi AlexJust be glad you didn't have to put the Concorde down there - let alone get it up again!:-eek BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
