  1. Thanks for replyYes it works fine in other applications. Funny though you ask because I tried to respond to ATC number choices using the key pad on the key pad. When I try to respond to ATC commands with the NUMLOCK ON and use the keypad numbers on the key board, FS2004 doesn't do anything with these but numbers across the top of the key board it recognizes and works fine.Any ideas ? I sure would like to have a small key pad on the yoke I can just press numbers for ATC ...many thanks for your help...JB
  2. Hi all..I bought a mini-key pad as I am tired of bringing the entire key board into my cockpit to pres 1-9 when ATC window pops up.I hooked up the USB mini key pad and strapped it to my yoke. The problem is when the ATC window comes and asks me which option by pressing number - I press the number on the mini key pad and nothing happens. The NUMLOCK key is on also.Any ideas to get it working ? Tks...JB
  3. Hi all...I recently had some frame speed problems and dual monitors that I have solved based on help from the kind folks on this site but now I have a new problem.I was getting slow FPS with my GEForce 2500 128MB (AGP)so I went and bought a Radeeon 9250 128 MB (PCI). When I had one monitor hooked to one card and another hook to the other FS2004 wouldn't recognize them in HARDWARE section. It would also only allow me to run in window view with no 3d stuff I solved this by having the two monitors hooked to the Radeon.....however I would eventually like to use both cards to run 4 monitors...outside view, GPS, captain instruments and co-pilot instruments. Is there anyway to get FS2004 to recognize the 2 different cards so I get use MAX views etc ?Appreciate anyone's help ? Many thanks....JB
  4. Tks Yoss and Aaron:I'll try your suggestions. Do you know how I can check if 3D acceleration is enabled on on each monitor ? I have Win XP Professional. Many thanks..JB
  5. Hi all...I wonder if someone can help me. Previously I had 2 monitors ( 1 for gauges 1 for outside view) running from 1-dual input GEForce card. The FPS was great on outside view. I recently changed one monitor to a flat panel LCD Dell for the gauges. For some reason the FPS are real slow and when I'm flying the outside view is jerky and not smooth now.My question is:1) Did the Dell monitor change my memory needs on PC and this is what is effecting my FPS?2) Should I be setting the monitors to some special resolutions so I can get FPS up ?3) Or should I simply mess around with the FS2004 features to get my outside view nice and smooth ? (I would imagine I would have to reduce alot of features?)My PC is a 2.4 P4 with 750 Ram and 128 GEForce video card. Many thanks for your suggestions....JB
  6. Tony...thanks for the suggestion. Any chance you could show me how to wire the 4 pole in to the pots ? I have 4 pots - 2 for each yoke for pitch and roll...or are you meaning wire the switch into the USB cable after the CH PCB's ?Many thanks for your help...JB
  7. Thanks Richard..my CH yokes input to the PC via USB connections so I don't have a gameport installed in my PC. Would I have to get one ? Then how would I wire up the rotary ? I assume the rotary would be wired in between the wires from the CH yoke pots to the CH PCB board which then connects into the USB ports...Many thanks and sorry for silly questions but I'm learning..JB
  8. Hi Richard tks for the quick reply...err...what's an A/B switch ? JB
  9. Hi all...I am using 2 CH yokes for my King air sim...I use the 2 sets of throttle, mix and props for my throttle quadrant for the KA twin and it works fine.I have set the yokes up for pilot and co-pilot and have been messing around trying to mechanically link the two based on great ideas from this forum.I have a brain wave but not sure if it will work...here's my question:1) The captains CH yoke works fine and is hooked into FS2004 by USB2) The co-pilots yoke I cannot use as is because it goes hay-wire when its kooked into PC3) Could I simply wire the co-pilots pitch/roll pots into the captains pitch/roll potentiometers ?...like in series4) When the co-pilot takes over he moves his pitch/roll pot which is wired to the capatins pitch/roll pot and sends signal into FS2004Granted they would not move at the same time but I'm not worried at the moment...my 8 year old son loves to be co-pilot but I have to keep getting out of my seat to let him take over.I'm not very good at electronics and want to make sure I don't blow the CH yokes boards or chips so any advice would be much appreciated.Nice long tks giving holiday for me to keep working on the sim...tks and have great Turkey day (for those in US)
  10. Hi Norbert...thanks for the reply...can you tell me where to find the examples so I can see ? Many thanks...JB
  11. Thanks Tuomas:Can I make sure I understand what you mean...do I just choose any ID number which is not being used in "MyFSIF.INI"...for example I have numbers from 1 to 500 being used...can I pick 501 say ?Many thanks...JB
  12. Hi Mad:I was trying to get my Rudder and aileron trims to work in FSBUS. I used what you had mentioned. It won't chnage any trims but my rotary switches are working fine in the Router. Could you help me answer the following:1) Am I supposed to copy exactly what you recommend in the INI file ?2) When I opened my INI file each line seemed to have more than what you recommend i.e. there were ID numbers from 0-400's or so...I noticed you had 001 or 002 as the ID. When I put these in I get an error in the Router3) Also does it matter what ID number you choose ? If so where can I find the ID value for an event to add to FSBUS ?Many thanks for your help....JB
  13. Hi all..I have downloaded the latest FSBUS but I am getting a delay when I uses my switches...for example...if I want to turn my Battery Switch on.I flip switch to ON...the switch doesn't move in FS9...I move switch down (OFF) then it goes ON but my switch is in the OFF position in my cockpit. Also happens with my landing gear switch...I take off...raise my gear and nothing happens..I flip my gear switch back down and the gear goes UP !!Not sure what is going on but if anyone can help I would certainly appreciate it ?Many thanks...JB
  14. Thanks David..appreciate your help...Yes...pitch I mean elevator. The bit I'm confused about is "If so, find elevator trim under throttle on the left hand side of the router.."..I don't have a list with Throttle on the left...I usually add FSBUS switches, displays etc.to it ..is there supposed to be a throttle section on left ?Yes..my switch is wired how Dirk said and I also have completed continuity checks etc. Many thanks..JB
  15. Hi all...I have made a 12 position switch for my pitch trim. It flashed fine in FSBUS and the switch works. For some reason it won't make the pitch trim wheel work in FS2004 so I'm not sure I have the settings right in software. How should I set the settings and what FS destination should I pick ?Also I am using a 100k pot in FSAD for my 3 position flaps on my king air. The pot values are 16383, 14820 and 12480 in each flap position. What settings should I set for:MultMax ValueMin ValueOffset ValueCenter ValueCenter WidthDestination: FS.Standard. FlapsThanks to anyone who can offer me some advice...many thanks...JB
  16. Hi Philippe...Do you, or anyone know, if you can run an LCD projector for main front view and 2 monitors for side viewd off 1 Parhelia ?Many thanks...JB
  17. Thanks Tuomas:I will use 12 position switches. Could you tell me how to wire these up so I can make the trims work in FSKey. I have wired the 12pos switch like they show you on FSBUs page for my radio's...would I wire the same for the trim function ?Many thanks for your help...JB
  18. Hi all...does anyone know if FSBUS has been updated to allow the use of pots for trim on FSAD...I had wired mine up about 4 months ago but the problem is that when I turned trim wheel one way or another the trim on the plane only went on way...Any thoughts or help much appreciated ? Many thanks...JB
  19. Tks Claudio...should I wait until you get an answer from Dirk to see if I can use the AD for the trim ? or go to the switch set up ? It maybe fixable where I can use the pot for trim ...tks..JB
  20. Hi Claudio...tks for the feedback. You mentioned using a rotary for trim. 1) Could you tell me if you mean just a standard 12 position rotary switch ? 2) How would I wire this up ? 3) Would I then use in FSKey and not in FS AD ?Thanks for your help...JB
  21. Thanks Claudio...I have noticed something funny...When I put my flap lever in the UP position my value next to little green circle in Router is 12805, Approach is 10125 and Down is 9100...this doesn't match the High, Low and center value you had in initial answer to my problem. Would this be the problem why I only get 2 flap positions to work ?Many thanks for your continued help...JB
  22. Thanks Claudio:I tried what you said to do above but I have 2 problems:1) I have 3 flap settings - Up, Approach and Down - when I use the numbers above I can only get 2 flap settings to work. 2) Also the flaps are backwards i.e. when I press the lever to up the setting in MS2004 goes down3) I also have another problem where I am using an AD input for my pitch trim. For some reason when I spin the pitch wheel backwards and forwards the trim indicator in MS2004 only goes one way - nose up - any ideasThank you for your help...JB
  23. Thanks for the reply...I think I understand but could you clarify the following:1) In FSRouter the following needs to be filled in for each AD:MultiplierMax ValueMin ValueOffsetCenter ValueCenter WidthFS Destination2) Should I set each flap position with its own entries above e.g. Flaps Up:Max Value = 16384Min Value = greater than 8192FS Destination Flaps Up3) Also what other numbers should I put in for Offset, Center Value, Center Width4) Also is it OK to have the Flaps set up 3 timers on the same SID/RID/CID ....I would have one pot for flaps and one AD input and then I set up 3 different flap settings as above ?Many thanks for your help or anyone who can help me...it's the last FS input I have to go before I'm doneCheers...JB
  24. Hi all...I am using a 100k pot to set my flaps with FSBUS AD. Does anyone know what values I should set up in the software. I am simulating a King AIr with flaps up, down and approach.Any help would be much appreciated ? Thanks...JB
  25. Hi all..I am setting up pots in the FS router but can't figure out how to set them up so they work properly. I am using FS AD for pitch, aeileron, rudder trims and flaps. They all flashed and are recognized. My problem is: When I turn my wheel one way the pitch wheel indicator goes down and when I turn my trim wheel the other way the pitch still goes down. How can I set it up so when I turn the wheel forward the pitch goes down and when the wheel goes backwards pitch goes up.Anyone got any ideas please ?Many thanks...JB
