  1. Active Camera is free for FS2002 as well... or at least it used to be. I think the older versions are still around somewhere. It doesn't cause turbulence, but it makes the effects of it much more realistic.
  2. I'm not necessarily subscribing to the "video drivers ate my monitor" theory, but I had a fairly new monitor go belly up on me while using the 3.8s as well. It was probably coincidence. But man, what a coincidence!
  3. Ah yes, I see what you're talking about. I don't use the built-in flight planner in FS9, so I hadn't seen that button before. But mine is grayed-out too. My guess is that it only works, as I said, if your addon scenery uses the new FS9-style AFD information, and none of them do yet. I think we'll have to wait for an SDK to get this resolved.
  4. In order to use add-on scenery with the flight planner, FS has to be aware of the scenery's AFD data. But as far as I have heard, nobody has figured out how to add new airports to the list in FS... even the new AFCAD can only edit existing scenery. In the docs they state that at the moment you can't add new scenery, but it's planned for a future version. My guess is that future version won't be released until MS coughs up a scenery SDK.I'm curious about why the Addon Scenery button isn't working for you, though. Do you mean nothing happens when you click it, or is it grayed-out or something?
  5. It's a little like being the first person to own a fax machine. Yeah, you can send... but to whom? You can open third-party airports using AFCAD2, but only if they were made using the new AFD format, and right now that pretty much means only airports whose AFD information was built in AFCAD2 in the first place. So that means you can open someone else's AFCAD files for editing, but not much else. The FS9 AFD information is so fundamentally changed that there's no way you can open AFD information created with pre-FS9 software in AFCAD2. That's precisely why we were all waiting for Lee so anxiously!
  6. Have you tried using the "clear skies" weather theme? This is supposed to clear out the weather, and usually when my FS2004 gets stuck, this fixes it. You've probably already tried this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention it.
