This is only for nVidia users who are using HDMI on their display
This is only for nVidia users who are using HDMI on their display. If you're display supports Full RGB, which most do, you may notice you aren't getting the right colors and the blacks don't seem so black and the whites don't seem so white. This is because despite under Display->Adjust Desktop Color Settings your digital color format being set at RGB, its actually by default set at Limited RGB, not Full. And you will see there is no option for Full RGB. Don't use ycbcr444 as it will oversaturate reds and magentas. Full RGB is available only under Video->Adjust Video Color Settings, but this doesn't affect your games, applications, etc. Only videos. The trick to enable Full RGB for everything is a reg hack, and luckily you can use a tool to do instead. Find it here You must use this tool every time you install a new driver. Next, complain to nVidia to let this be a option in future drivers here: http://surveys.nvidia.com/index.jsp?...f07694a40f8ac6

Need advice about new computer
Thanks guys for your helpI'm looking over the options you suggested, good advice, I think building my own system is the best option. I was wondering what kind of performance increase I would get with the systems you pointed out compared to my dusty old rig. With my Dell I can get 20fps locked with med to low settings(with blurries), 10-15fps at large airports, cities. I don't mind so much because I usually fly in rural areas. (Eastern South Dakota)Anyway thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!And sorry for posting in the wrong forum?Jerry

Need advice about new computer
Hello everyone, I don't post here much but I have visited this forum everyday for years now, and appreciate all the helpfull information.I currently have a Dell 8400, P4 3.2GHz 800-MHz FSB, 2GB-533MHz ram, Geforce 6800 vanilla, 2x75GB WD raid 0, + 320gb sata drive.I have about $1000-1500 to spend and since my Dell has never caused me any trouble I am looking at another Dell. I think I have enough experience to build my own machine but don't know where to start.Dell is all I have had experience with besides the local stores that seem overpriced.I dont know if now is a good time to buy because DX10,Vista being new and buggy. Should I wait until next year? Vista, DX10, improvements?I use my computer for flightsims, FSX, FS2004, and many combat sims.I just want to get the best machine for my money.I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks for your time and for all the help I've gotten from AVSIM.Jerry

Thankyou Phil
I have been flying MSFS since commodore-64 days, back then I was getting -2,-3 frames per second and was lucky to land within 3 or 4 miles of an airport. I feel so fortunate to be able to use FSX and comparing the old with the new is so incredible, I cant wait to see future releases of Flight Simulator.Anyway I purchased FX Acceleration and all I can say is thank you, you and your team have really done a great job fixing-upgrading FSX.It runs and looks better than ever. Good work!!!THANK YOU!!!!!From one happy simmerJerry Graslie
