  1. Hey guys :)I'm having some problems with FS9 and FSGlobal 2008. Around many airports with FSG installed, I get issues like this:1.jpg2.jpg3.jpgI contacted FSG's support a week ago, but still no response. Does anybody know if there is a quick fix for this, or is the mesh just severely flawed and something I would have to live with?

  2. I was mistaking visibility with trying to blend the horizon, then in a thread from around Jan 2006 I found out that horizon blending actually has to do with the textures and was fixed by applying ASG's Seasonal Smooth Horizon textures and after making this distinction, actually found that AS6 was forcing my set visibility. I'm actually a bit embarrassed, I should know this after flight simming for 9 years, but in case there is someone else who is making this mistake, hopefully this clarifies things a bit.:-)

  3. Hello, I've searched the forum to try to find a solution to this, the one that is my problemhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=38984&page=My AS max visibility is set to 39nm, I have the 'Depict FS Haze' and 'Limit Cloud Layers' unchecked and the 'Force Visibility Limits' checked, but still, my visibility is 60 miles, as set with FS display settings, AS does not enforce the visibility, and I would like to hide the hard horizon. I have attached my ASv6.ini file. Any help would be much appreciated.

  4. Again, it is hard for users to move to a new sim that has no sort of compatibility with at least the previous version if they have a lot of good addons, particularly payware addons. By the time some addons are released, it is a year and a half since the release of the version, leaving only one and a half to two years to enjoy it, and I'd like it to be compatible past two years, especially if I payed money for it. As a painter, I'd like my textures to be used past two years. Yes, people can run dual-sim for the addons that can't transition, but I'd like to run dual-sim as minimally as I can. I'll be happy with FSX-compatibility of some sort, enough to keep most of my addons for it running.

  5. OK, then with that said, here is what I would like to see in FS11:1. An improved FDE engine that better simulates ground effect and aerodynamics (of course, if it can still read FSX FDE's, that is preferable, ie the FDE file provides info about the aircraft, the FDE engine reads it and applies these other generic dynamics that occur with every aircraft).2. An improved weather engine that deals with transition issues, adds hail, adds microbursts/windshear, and does not allow me to see 80 miles on a clear day, since I've never been able to see 80 miles at 35,000 feet from a real airplane anyways. Better icing effect that actually impacts the aircraft's performance would be nice too, and perhaps add a fuel-freezing risk.3. Now, this might be bordering on something for a 3rd-party developer, but possibly a dynamic sky textures engine that simulates different sky colors based on weather and time of years, especially for sunsets and sunrises.4. An improved ATC/AI engine that handles traffic better and does not wildly vector me around. A feature that allows you to select SIDs/STARs that ATC will then guide you with would be nice.5. Airport deicing for cold weather would be welcome as well.6. The ability to tell your glider's tow plane where exactly to go before you release the cable.7. The ability to assign stands at airports as "pushback" stands or "taxi-off" stands.

  6. First and foremost, it needs to be a very vast improvement over FSX in terms of overall quality. There has to be backwards compatibility for aircraft, scenery, sounds, textures, panels, etc between FSX and FS11 (and even many FS9 addons, since many if not most of the community is still on FS9).Bring back compatibility with most FS9 panels, as there are very few very complex panels that work in FSX.FSX .dds texture format scares me because it almost reminds me of the introduction of GMAX in FS2002 to replace FSDS1, then in FS2004, FSDS1 models weren't even compatible. I fear that .dds might be the only texture format recognized in FS11, which, if that happens, you would probably see most people stick with FS9/FSX or run dual sims to be able to run their models that don't have .dds mapping. Especially being an aircraft repainter myself, I would like my textures for FS2004 aircraft to be able to be used in the next flight sim.I agree with better weather transitions, and the ability to have hail and windshield damage would be nice.A better flight dynamics engine which would allow for new ultra-realistic FDEs on the same level of X-Plane, while still being able to use the old FS9/FSX FDEs.

  7. Also, would it help to tune down the cloud density and percentage? After having gone totally default as far as cloud and sky textures go, I still have this same problem. I am using the same saved flight where this started occuring, just switching between default and addon aircraft to see if I find a link in them, could the saved flight itself be the problem? Perhaps the sim isn't having issues, it is just that particular flight file? Because just last week I was flying though heavy-density overcast skies with complex addon aircraft, with Flight Environment, and with ASv6 without any issues, and this problem just sprang up within the last flight or two. I haven't added any addons since last week, nor have I changed anything in FS's settings. Right now I don't have time to get a full, long flight going to test, I just test right now in periods when I find time or I'd try it, but is that a possibility?

  8. Hello, I have had ASv6 running with FS9 for a while now, however, for some reason I've been having this exact problem:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchI've tried the Render to Texture and 32-bit clouds, but FS still freezes after a while, however it only happens when flying into heavily-cloud-laden skies, if I'm flying in clear conditions with or without AS, all runs fine. I've tried this with no 3rd-party sceneries or AFCADs with the same result, system specs are Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, Nvidia 7800GT graphics, 2GB RAM, 180GB hard drive where FS is installed. I also have installed GE Pro and Flight Environment textures, I use no ASG textures.

  9. Hello. I have a question that hopefully someone can answer.I bought Walk and Follow 3 days ago, requested activation, and still haven't received a reply. Apparently, I'm not alone as someone else from a different forum I asked on has been waiting for a few weeks with no response. And it also seems that IGFly doesn't respond to e-mails. So my question is, did I just buy an addon that I will never be able to activate, or is there a different way or avenue to activate it (legally of course)?

  10. I've got ActiveSky 6, however the weather was fairly light on this flight and on flights with every other addon I have, even in more turbulent weather, I have not had this problem, their autopilots fly very smoothly.

  11. Hello, I have the most recent patched version of the 747 for FS9, I'm running Windows Vista, and my issue is that when I am in cruise, I have my autopilot on and set to LNAV and VNAV, and every once in a while, my nose will start pitching up and down wildly until I reset the autopilot. If I let it go without intervention, the autopilot switches off VNAV mode and goes to Speed Hold mode. Then the aircraft slows and eventually starts to stall. This wouldn't be so bad, except that I also leave my computer for hours on end sometimes while the aircraft flies and I can't always be there to correct the autopilot. How can I fix this problem so that the aircraft will just fly on its own like I'd like it to?

  12. Hello. While trying to merge the Ready for Pushback 747 panel with the POSKY 747v4 models in FSX, I found that the autopilot gauge causes massive fuel consumption (like from 100% to 0% in 2 minutes). The gauge is written in an older format that FS Panel Studio cannot fully decode. Is there a program that can fully open older FS2002 gauges for editing so I can see if I can fix the problem?
