  1. On the 747, after I save a flight then reload it, VNAV doesn't work because the performance settings are screwed up. That under the performance settings when I press the key to set the Gross Weight, it won't set it, so VNAV and be used and on the FMC VNAV page, the optimum and maximum FLs don't show up. How do I get this FMC to work right at this point?

  2. Thanks, that fixed those 2 problems. One more problem though:During take-off, I arm the A/T, the engine instruments say it is in TO power mode, but when I press the N1 button or CTRL-SHIFT-G for TOGA, the throttles do not automatically advance. What is the problem here?

  3. OK, after doing everything on the pre-flight FMC, when I press the appropriate RSKs, it won't enter the V-Speeds. I have everything entered and the FMC even says PRE-FLIGHT COMPLETE, but it just won't enter the V-Speeds. Any help?

  4. Hello. Just a question about the 747 FMC. On the Estimated fuel at arrival section of the VNAV cruise page, my estimated fuel keeps on getting lower and lower even though I have the AP engaged in VNAV and LNAV modes and keep cruising at the optimum altitudes and speeds. Why is this?

  5. I was wondering how to enter waypoint coordinates on the 747 FMC.What I mean by waypoint coordinates is not the actual location of a waypoint, but using an actual coordinate as a waypoint, like on trans-oceanic flights. Like how would I enter N56* 0.00' W20* 0.00'?Thanks in advance. :D

  6. I just tried my first takeoff from the carrier and ran into a problem:I landed on the deck in the A-4, set up for takeoff. I press Shift-L for the launch bar, then Shift-C for the actual cat. launch and nothing happened. How do I T/O from the deck? And do the elevators work?

  7. It seems to be the 3D clouds that cause havoc on my system. And I have a few more questions:I was flying Concorde and the engines shut down for no reason after 2 minutes of flying. Why is this?Is there a way to get the menu bar out of the way on the full screen view?Is there a way to engage reverse thrust on jets as well as autospoilers?

  8. OK, I think it is a matter of expirementing which settings/features my system can handle. One, or a combination of features enabled give me this error: "Error: RenderTexture requires the following unsupported OpenGL extensions: WGL_ARB_extensions_stringReading xml ..." when I try to fly planes like the 737 or A-10. Then when I select a plane like the P-51, it runs very, very slowly. Then when I disable the feature(s), it goes back to normal. So it looks like trying different settings to see what my system will handle. I currently use 1024x728 resolution and get around 50FPS.

  9. OK, I don't have internet on my computer that I run games on, so I have just barely been able to get FlightGear onto that computer. It's a good computer, AMD Athlon64 3500+ processor, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon X200 card, etc. I go to run FGFS with low detail settings, and it runs about 1 FPS. What's the deal?

  10. Just out of curiousity, which 3D modeling tool is preferred?Hfitz recommended Blender, put FlightGearWiki also recommends AC3D. So apperently, these are the best freeware 3D tools, unless you what to spend big bucks on 3DS Max.So which is easier to work with/has more features/can include more features (on an aircraft in particular)? AC3D or Blender?

  11. I'd also like to add that in a constant speed prop, playing with the Prop levers helps too, as (in real life at least) it moves the pitch of the propellers to provide better thrust during certain situations. Also, playing with the mixture like you stated in your first post is a good idea. The higher you are, the leaner the mixture will be.Hope this helps a little. :D
