the 3500 is still the cheapest here in canada,looked at the fx55 but cheapest was $1100.so would you say then the 3500 on the new core would perform better than the 3800.i now have a p4-3.4 and a radeon9800 pro and just hate the performance i get.i was looking at the asas av8 mobo pcie,would that be a good choice for amd.appreciate your help guys.

hi everyone,i am going to get a system with a amd64 cpu but am not sure what one to get.i have 3 choices,the 3500,3800,4000.i read somewhere that you cannot oc the 4000 but you can the other two.like everyone i am looking for the most bang for the buck and am hoping someone here has had experience whith these cpu's.would appreciate opinions.thank you.

it sure is tempting.i mailed them to find out if it could be run through widefs on the pc my activesky is on but they did not seem to know what i was talking about,so i guess it can not be done?i am wondering do you have to pause the sim to download a new file every so often or is it done just once.thanks for any help.

Hi Bruce,that is interesting,my system is a xps gen4 3.4ee,x850xtpe-pci-e,1gb ram,10000 rpm hd.i have been planning to return this system and only have a few more days to decide and was offered another gig of ram as incentive to keep the rig.the performance has been dissapointing,the stutters,frames all over the place no matter what drivers or settings.this is the first time i have read that 2gb could help with stutters,would you have an opinion on my situation.thanks.

i got the 10000rpm hd,thinking it would be faster,so do i understand correctly that the 7200rpm raid set up faster.now for a dumb question,is raid a piece of hardware you have to buy.as for noise,my xps gen4 is very loud when the fans kick in and throws a lot of heat out the back.regards.

hi,i have almost the same system for two weeks now,the only difference is i have the 3.4ee processor.in my opinion,it was not worth the money,i did have better performance in clouds,but hardly any better into busy airports plus the pauses are unsolveable for me.then i managed to mess things up and used the reinstall cd,and the machine is not the same as when i started.maybe the 3.8 is better,i should have went with that one.all the best

i truly appreciate everyones views,it does help.i am so disgusted with fs9,all the tweaking,driver changes all of which make no difference for me,at times just want to drive the whole system out the window.i am wondering the difference between the 3.4ee 1066 fsb and the 3.8 800 fsb.between the two,which would be the way to go.thankstony.

himy timezones are all mixed up with the time change,i start the sim at yhz and the time is correct,i then switch to yyz and the time goes back 2hrs.any one else having problems,i cant figure out how to fix this latest fs9 headache.thanks.

hi there jim,with the box unchecked the winds do not update,with it checked they update just fine,but does this mean fs is controlling the winds.i just did a flight from yhz-yul with the box checked and the winds seemed to match.thanks for your help.

hi,i have noticed that the winds do not update and change to the correct direction unless i check disable wind control,it just stays at the same direction and speed as the first download.i use the offline mode and am using the new beta update.hope someone can help.thanks.
