My inflight refuelling skills in DCS are rubbish, but in MSFS refuelling the C172 in flight is a piece of cake. I thought I would try and adjust the fuel using the 'weight' icon to see what happens and to my surprise the fuel gauge increased - how naff is that, takes all the panic away from a low fuel situation.

So to answer my OP its looks like you can't. With all the planning that must have gone into producing this Sim, how could they have omitted something so simple as displaying current winds.

I mean while airborne and without the G1000.

With FSX/P3D if I press Shift + Z it shows the current wind, how do I do this in MSFS 2020 ?

Where do I find the update. After reading another thread on this subject I went to the MS Store and couldn't find any option to Update within my account ?

Many thanks Chock, I found the entry you mentioned, clicked on it and it just said I'm too early. I didn't realise it was in the Start menu - now just waiting for the 17th 😀

I completed the pre order on the 16th July and downloaded a file which went to my Downloads folder in drive C:, as this is my Windows system drive I wanted it moved to my flight sim SSD drive. I saw Bert Pieke's excellent guide on how to move this file to a SSD drive, which I followed to the letter. I now have have three new folders on this drive Program Files, WindowsApps and WpSystem. I can't open WindowsApps because I don't have permission but I understand this is fairly normal, the other two folders I can open. I assumed this downloaded file was a MSFS installer I could use on release day (17th Aug) - where is the installer I should use to install MSFS on release day ?

Active Sky has been a major player in our quest to achieve a realistic flight simulation experience for many years. Does anyone know if they have any place within the new Microsoft Flight Simulator, it would be a travesty if all there good work and commitment to our hobby was lost on the release of MFS with 'possibly' most of us moving to new MS flight Sim.

Is the developer still responding to support questions, I sent a copy of this message to the support contact section of the Voxatc webpage a week ago and still haven't had a reply or acknowledgement ?

That's a very good point and I fully agree with what you said. My setup is fairly typical, I have ORBX base scenery including EU England and mainly use either A2A for GA flying or PMDG 737u for Airline type flying. My offer still stands, if Tegwyn needs an extra testbed to try things out I'm more than happy to help. If you could mention this next time you contact him. I'm quite happy to be contacted via PM. I did work with Tegwyn briefly during version 6 to test some taxying problems.

I appreciate there is only certain information available at the moment regarding ATC. Looking at some of the released videos, the ATC seems to work by clicking a ATC menu list on the screen. Does anyone know if the response from the pilot (us) can be via voice recognition i.e. talking into a microphone ?

I tried the C-130 but don't know enough about its operation as I was asked to set a squark but couldn't get the transponder to work. I tried the A2A Bonanza without the F1 GTN installed and all worked fine until I contacted Farnborough Radar for a Basic Service and one of the AI aircraft was already talking to Farnborough. After the AI contacted Farnborough Radar, There was a loop of Farnborough saying "Gxxxx Pass your message" with the Ai repeating his request - this went on looping over again so I just gave up. This is why I stopped using Voxatc many years ago it was just one problem after another. In my opinion it could be the best ATC program by far, and I have bought and used them all, but it doesn't seem stable enough to handle different computer setups. Some users seem to have no problems, others like myself cannot complete a flight. As I seem to be one of those users having problems I would be quite happy to work with the developer to try and iron these problems out.

Many thanks jabloomf1230 for helping to solve this problem. I will try the C-130 as you suggested to see if it makes a difference. I have copied the text of the problem of my flight from Shoreham to Blackbushe and sent it to Tegwyn via his website Contact page. I've also sent him the link to the error log, if he gets back to me I will report the findings here.

I tried another short flight from Shoreham to Blackbushe EGLK, started at GA stand 12, listened to ATIS and was told to contact Tower 125.400. I selected this on the Flight1 GTN750 and got taxi clearance to Runway 20 via A and K, I didn't ask to cross runway 25 as I was taxying passed the end on the threshold and not technically crossing the runway - didn't want to confuse ATC. Departure ok and requested a Basic Service from Farnborough Radar 125.250, later Farnborough asked me to contact Blackbushe Information on 122.300, I repeated the frequency change and Farnborough acknowledge I understood by saying Basic Service terminated . I then selected 122.300 but the Vox window said change back to 125.250 and still said I had Basic Service - I was stuck in this situation so I closed VoxATC and re-enabled it to get to Blackbushe Info on 122.300. Arrival fine until finals, Blackbushe kept asking me to report Finals even though I had done so two or three times. After turning off the runway I was told to report Vacated Runway but Blackbushe kept saying 'Pass your message'. I stopped on the taxiway and shut down. Sorry Kevin I have been away for a few days. I did use fsaerodata with P3Dv4 but it caused problems with Aivlasoft EFB2 so it was recommended not to use it, so I haven't installed it in P3Dv5. I have installed the Level D Navigraph data within Voxatc.

Hi Kevin, many thanks for helping me with this problem. I have just noticed I said in my second post I was using Shoreham UK2000 (Orbx FTX EGKA), that should have been the Orbx version not UK2000. I don't know how to replicate this problem for you to test. I have had this problem many times before at different airfields and in flight especially when giving long VFR position reports. I tried again last night from Shoreham and couldn't even get passed the initial taxi clearance with out ATC Tower 125.400 saying "Pass Your Message" each time. I thought it might be a problem with my joystick transmit button so I set up another flight again from Shoreham this time using the keyboard spacebar but still had the same result. Is there any way I can send you the Error Report as its a bit too long to post on this forum. BTW I'm using the GTN750 to change frequencies which has the 8.33 KHz spacing.

Hi Kevin Flying from Shoreham UK2000 (Orbx FTX EGKA) via Lee-on-solent to Bournmouth then Exeter (UK2000) Cleared to runway 20 from GA parking during taxi on 'K' I held short of runway 25 and asked to cross the threshold and was told to standby on Tower frequency, as nothing happened I called again and was told clear to cross 25 and call when vacated. That's when I got the Pass your message instruction each time I read the Runway vacated message. As I wasn't actually crossing runway 25 but its end perhaps Voxatc got a bit confused. I'm using P3Dv5 and the latest VoxATC that just came out. I have now ticked the enable logging box in Advanced Settings.

Hi I keep randomly getting stuck with ATC saying "Pass Your Message" after my response, which is becoming very irritating and spoiling the flight. I have the correct frequency selected, I hold down the transmit key and wait one second after the click and read the correct response in a steady and clear manner then wait another second and release the key. I have spent roughly an hour and a half voice training both general and using the Flight Plan Trainer. The last time was a very simple response after crossing a runway, it was "Golf November Bravo Vacated Runway" no matter how many times I said it ATC always responded with Pass Your Message. Is there any way around this ?

I'm just getting back into Voxatc now its available with P3Dv5. I currently don't have any 3rd party AI aircraft just the default, I've previously used UTLive with P3Dv4 but this wasn't compatible with Voxatc. Looking at various forums AIG appears to be a good source for AI for P3Dv5 and hopefully Voxatc. Can anyone confirm this before I start installing AIG as it looks a bit complicated to setup.
