  1. I gave in to temptation  another sign of old age I guess Will resist the tempation to post it on my web site - I hope ^_^
  2. Good stuff - enjoying the humor of the AVSIM patrons  Did you notice that I posted my last post in small font - did not want to be too bold about the bribing of the Gnome Award officials  Thanks for the offer A320 driver - but I have decided to cement the front yard - that will stop the pesky grass from hindering my progress towards obtaining and presenting proudly this prestigious Gnome Award. (with Diamonds) Plus, not having to mow the lawn again will give me even more time to work on more flight sim gifts for others to enjoy. PS - soooo tempted to create an image of a golden gnome with diamonds and put it on my site - would be an excellent insider joke Regards mate.
  3. Thanks Ian, I am overwhelmed with your gracious and generious efforts with the Gnome Academy on my behalf and in absolute awe that you know ard able to liaise personally with Gnomanous Gnu - the demigod of the prestigious Gnome Adademy. Wow......... With your bribing and influence with Gnomanous Gnu I fell assured that I need to start clearing a space for the Golden Gnome (with Diamonds) on my mantle above the fireplace in anticipation of its arrival - fortunately I have a few years to build a fireplace and mantle - not much need for them in Newcastle Australia - but will start the project as soon as the grass is cut and I can get into the house. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, its off to work I go....... Regards from a Golden Gnome (with Diamonds) Recipient (sometime in the future) Garry
  4. For those that might have missed it - the Graphics Tutorial for gmax modelling created by Milton is now available on the new Milton Shupe and Team web pages. It is all black magic to me but for those who want to get into creating 3D aircraft models this seems to be an excellent tutorial.. You will find the links to in on the new site - http://www.gjsmith.net/Milton_Shupe/ Also the Rockwell Shrike aircraft has been added - I missed that aircraft in the migration - sorry - but up and running now. While your on the site - feel free to click on one of the Vote Buttons - Add your vote for placement of Milton's pages on the Top 100 Flight Sim Sites. Only the first vote per IP address is counted - multiple clicks are ignored. Happy simming to all.
  5. HI Ian, With gracious humility I humbly accept this prestigious award that you have bestowed upon me. It has only taken 16 years of servitude to the simming community to reach the pinacle of being awarded the "Gnome of the Year" Another 16 years and I might get a Golden Gnome - one can only dream I guess. Regards mate
  6. Thanks mate, Yes I am like the little gnome that sits in the front garden Gaudy paint and all the trimmings - but everyone just wants to get into the house for all of the free goodies - so they mostly walk on bye hardly noticing the chearful little gnome out front. But not to worry - I am a happy little gnome  - knowing that simmers are getting some pretty good stuff from within the flight sim house on the Web that I have built over the years. Regards and I hope everyone has a happy and prosperous new year.
  7. Your Welcome Gentlemen, When Milton let it be known that he was closing the web site - my gut feel was that the entire community would be missing out on an outstanding volume of excellent work on many award winning aircraft. Something needed to be done - so stepped up and got stuck in. Bit off a big challenge - but at least it is now locked in and will be available for the simmers to continue to enjoy - hopefully I can keep it alive and available for many more years. Regards
  8. Milton Shupe's site is now back online. After many years of Milton providing the site and support he elected to focus more on his aircraft development projects and also remove the burden of running costs for the web site. I thought that his site was a genuine historical environment that needed to be maintains for prosperity and volunteered to migrate and preserve this important site for ease of access for the simming community, of course with Milton's consent. After a very long pause, sorry :( ,the web site for Milton and his incredible team of developers is now back online. This collection of outstanding, multiple award winning, aircraft is now again available for simmers to enjoy. The migration was a long and complex process - over 620 htm files (many in MSWord), 530 download files imbedded in 318 directories containing over 7000 files. Thousands of url links to be ammended and rerouted. But at last, I have got the site up and running - no doubt there might be some errors in there - if you discover any then please advise me by e-mail garry[at]gjsmith.net (change "at" to "@") Still a lot of subordinate htm pages to be converted/migrated - however, all pages are functioning and now ready for your browsing pleasure. You can get to Milton's page via - click on the large advert for Milton's site and away you go - happy surfing. Regards
  9. Gee I am glad I did not post the "Black Ford Repaint flying in a starless night" puzzle - one colour and 300 pieces - we would have been cursed eternally Glad your having some fun with the puzzles mate
  10. Your welcome Robin - thank you for your kind thoughts. Edward and I are rewarded each time people let us know that they appreciate and/or enjoy what we are giving them. Makes the hard work, time and money we put into the Ford Project worth the effort when we know that we are providing some stuff that enriches their fun of simming. Regards
  11. Good one WingZ That was one of the harder ones - lots of pieces and lots of same colours. Well done.
  12. Sorry Mate, They can be addictive  I am pleasantly surprised that so many simmers have downloaded buckets of the puzzles and seem to keep coming back for more. Great that so many enjoy this unique type of distraction from their simming adventures. Have some fun mate - now over 200 puzzles to keep you distracted and to provide some fun for all of the family. Regards Garry
  13. Your welcome mate Some great fun in the latest batch of Jigsaw Puzzles - some easy some a little harder - but overall still a very interesting way to have a break from simming. Regards Garry and Edward
  14. Hi Flight Sim Buffs, As many may know, over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project site we had 88 electronic Jigsaw Puzzles. The puzzles are of course focussed FS2004 and the images created for the Project Site. But that does not limit the entertainment you will enjoy from tinkering with these puzzles no matter what sim you fly. . The current puzzles have proved to be very popular with over 24,000 downloads to date and many seem to have enjoyed most, if not all, of them. This thread is to advise that we, Edward Moore and I, have put in a bucket of time and effort and have now more than doubled the number of puzzles available - added 123 new ones - yes 123!!! - now a total of 217 exciting jigsaws to entertain you. Lots of good images and good fun challenges for those that may enjoy a unique break from serious simming every now and again. Pop on over to the Ford Tri-Motor Project site (http://www.ford-tri-motor.net) and click on the Puzzle page button - or for those that want direct access: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/puzzle-page.htm Both Ed and I hope that you enjoy the new puzzles as a 2013 Christmas Present to the simming community from the Ford Project Team. Regards Garry and Edward.
  15. Thanks Joe, Edward and I are pretty much focussed on FS2004/FS9  A lot of simmers out there who still prefer FS2004 and we try our best to give those patrons something interesting to enrich their simming experience. Regards and happy simming
  16. Hi Good People, Just a heads up for you - the Ford Project Team has just released the Fordlandia scenery for FS2004 - AVAILABLE HERE ON AVSIM.COM in the FS2004 Scenery group. Fordlandia is a now-abandoned, prefabricated industrial town established in the Amazon Rainforest in 1928 by American industrialist Henry Ford to secure a source of cultivated rubber for the automobile manufacturing operations of the Ford Motor Company in the United States. The scenery re-creates the late 20's early 30's rendition of the Fordlandia Venture - plus has some scenery enrichments by the Ford Project Team Slideshow: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/counter/Extra-Counter/click.php?id=43 Over 50 new models have been created for the overall scenery and it also has an airfield and runway plus a Water runway for simming fun. So if you after a bit of historical flying in the Amazon Jungle then feel free to grab the download from here and have some fun Regards Garry J. Smith and Edward C. Moore - your Ford Project Team........
  17. Thanks mate - was lucky to be able to find a lot of pictures of the "Fordlandia Rubber Plantation" - mostly photo's of derelict buildings - but more than enough old pictures to be able to hopefullly come up with a meaningful rendition of the scenery for simmers to enjoy. Never knew it existed myself until Edward discovered a couple of pictures and asked me "can we do this?" - and away we went, off on a tangent - very relevant to our Ford Project so we had to have a go. Regards
  18. Hi Good People, Just a short heads up on a scenery project that we, the Ford Project Team, have been working on for a couple of months. The Historical but very much fogotten, Fordlandia of Brazil - Henry Ford's venture into the Rubber industry. Unfortunately the venture was a resounding failure - Henry lost over $20 million dollars in the late 20's/30's on this venture and built a very big settlement and industry. The Fordlandia project is very close to being ready for release - just some AI and traffic to be created for the Land and Sea runways - so you should see it here at AVSIM.com in the near future. For those that want a bit more details on the project feel free to pop on over to: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/coming-soon.htm If you just want to have a quick look at the slideshow of what has been created: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/counter/Extra-Counter/click.php?id=43 Regards from Garry Smith and Edward Moore - the Ford Tri-Motor Project team.
  19. Your Welcome Mate, I hope that many people enjoy this scenery venture - great deal of time and effort put in to created this package for the simming community to enjoy a bit of historical flying. Garry
  20. Hi Good People, After tons and tons of work - Edward Moore and I are pleased to announce that Parts 3 and 4 of the Ford India Project are now ready for you to download and enjoy. These two parts include many extra airfields all rendered to a 1930's era - far too many pictures to choose from to show what is in the new packs - so will leave it to you to check them out on the web page: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/ford-india-project.htm This brings the project up to 30 historically rendered airfields completed and many more still in planning for developing. The Ford India Project has become a growing entity from the initial development of Pondicherry. We have are expanding the project to all of India reaching out to Cairo and plan on going right down to Brisbane Australia in historical airfield hops. And Edward has plans for linking to Indochina and England. You can see a map of what airfields have been done and some of those that are planned for the future by clicking the below link: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/images/Projects/India/Imperial-Route-planning-Part4.jpg I think you will all enjoy the additions in the new Part3 and Part4 releases - some innovation and some serious fun flying The Ford India Project is building into a real adventure set of 1930's era fun scenery. This is a FREEWARE project - all of it gifted to the simming communtity for the entrichment of their Flight Sim 2004 enjoyment. Regards and happy simming to all Garry Smith and Edward Moore.
  21. Thanks mate - hope you enjoy the liveries - the MD Default Comet scrubs up pretty good - some fact, fiction and fun liveries fitted her pretty well. Regards and happy simming.
  22. Hi Good People, The team over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project site have just released a big batch of FREE repaints for the Microsoft default de Havilland 88 Comet aircraft. See Picture below for a couple of examples. There are some very intesting repaints for this old girl within the batch available - many have been technically difficult due to the typical MS default mappings but I am sure that you will find some of them very enjoyable to fly. All for Free. You will find them at http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/de-havilland-88.htm The Ford Tri-Motor site advocates that AVSIM.com is one of the principle enviornments for Flight Simming and advertises/links to them on just about every page of the Ford Project Site. Anyway - pop on over to the de Havilland 88 page - enjoy the downloads and feel free to have a look around at the many other aircraft, scenery and even jigsaw puzzles available for free for your simming world. Regards and happy simming Garry J. Smith
  23. Hi Good People, The 1930's era of Pondicherry (VOPC) Scenery (Part1) of the Ford India Project has now been release and is available in the AVSIM FS2004 Scenery Library. Pondicherry is the first part of a 6 part India Scenery Project by the Ford Project Team. Part 2 is also complete which includes the TATA and Son's Air Services route across India with 1930's version of Colombo, Madras, Hyderabad, Bombay, Ahmedabad and Karachi. Additionally, a comprehensive AI package is available which includes 4 aircraft and 22 liveries specific to India with flights transiting along the TATA routes and circuits at Pondicherry. Part 2 and the AI TrafficPart 1 packages are now available for download but only at the Ford Project site http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/ford-india-project.htm If you like the Pondicherry scenery then you will indeed enjoy the additions of Part 2 and the AI traffic package to enrich and enjoy the 1930's flying throughout the Indian Empire. 24. The Ford Project Team is into another exciting project - a recreation of some historical Indian scenery. The project is intended to be self contained within a batch of various Parts - each building on the previous part but overall the total Project will be indenpendent of other Ford Scenery - so as the parts are released they will all blend together to create a single package representing the 1930's era of India and India's importance to early aviation. The project is planned to be over 6 Scenery Parts and 2 AI aircraft Parts. Part 1 - Scenery - Pondicherry - is now completed and will be released via AVSIM.com and the Ford Site 21 Jun 13 Part 2 - Scenery - TATA Routes across India - is now completed and will be released soon. Part 1 - AI Aircraft - 22 liveries across 4 different aircraft, Ford Tri-Motor, Vega5, DH80 and Handley Page 42 - is now completed and will be released soon. The AI Package is designed to transit aircraft all throughout the TATA routes and to do circuits for the Pondicherry Airfield. Part 3 - is under development and the remaining parts are still in the planning stages but will route South, West and East of India revitalising a historical set of airfields and routes which were essential staging post for many famous flights. For further information I would recommend you pop over to this page of the Ford Project Site. http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/ford-india-project.htm Strongly recommend that you check out the Slideshow (available on the page above) which shows much of the scenery detail and some of the many unique models that have developed specifically for this project. Important to remember this project and everything else on the Ford Project site is FREE and created for your enjoyment. Hope you like what you see. Garry J. Smith and Edwards C. Moore Your Ford Project Team.
