  1. Hi Good People, Been a bit quiet lately for the Ford Tri-Motor Project - some major surgery for me last year - several runs actually - but finally fully back on my feet. As part of my convalescence over the last couple of months Edward and I decided to do a scenery pack that would merge into our Ford India Project - a batch of 4 Airfields in Manchukuo and a couple of bridging airfields, one in Saigon and a French Fort airfield called Fort Bayard in lower French Indochina. I really got stuck into some model building and had some great fun creating almost 100 new models and tweaking some of the others we have. Anyway - I would like to present to you The FREE Manchukuo Scenery Project - something new and exciting for your FS2004 entertainment. A couple of pics for you to check out: A fun slideshow to show a greater view of the overall project: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Slideshows/Manchukuo_Project_CHINA.html Where do you get it? At the Ford Tri-Motor Project Site http://www.ford-tri-motor.net start at the Scenery Page and follow the leads or a direct link http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Ford-Manchukuo.htm OK - that is all of the latest news from your Ford Project Team - download and enjoy yet another FREE fun scenery project. Regards Garry and Edward Your Ford Project Team.
  2. Hi Good People, Over at the Ford Project Site we have released the last 6 of the Jenny Liveries. All 6 are fictional repaints created for some fun flying: PCPilot Special (a fun repaints, visually entertaining) Birdman Flying Circus (wings, feathers and other stuff) The Great Waldo Pepper (in the movie it was a Standard) Ford Golden Metal Effect (pushing shiny metal effects) Halloween Special 2014 (almost that time again) Christmas Special (Santa) (a nice Santa/Winter theme) Below is a sample. You can download these last 6 of 74 FREE Curtiss Jenny liveries at: Direct Link: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/curtiss-jenny.htm This last batch concludes our venture into Repaints for the Microsoft Default Curtiss Jenny JN4 Regards and enjoy Garry Smith and Edward Moore Your Ford Project Team - Keeping History Alive
  3. Hi Good People, The Ford Tri-Motor Project Team has just released five new Military liveries for the Microsoft Default Curtiss Jenny JN4D These liveries will work for both FS2004 and FSX (converted) version of the Curtiss Jenny. Where do you get them: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/curtiss-jenny.htm While your there feel free to check out the bucket of other FREE stuff available from the Ford Project site. Also don't forget to check out the fun Jigsaw Puzzles - all for FREE and some great fun for all of the family - 108 New Puzzles added today. Regards Garry and Edward your Ford Project Team. 4. Hi Good People, Some interesting stuff happening within the Ford Project Team. Edward and I have been busy and have been creating some very good liveries for the Default Microsoft Curtiss Jenny JN4D aircraft. This old girl has not been a friendly model for repainters and there is a void of historical,Fact, Fun and Fictional liveries for her. Edwards, after a lot of research has come up with a bucket of historical aircraft data that we could paint up for the Jenny that would work with the "mirror mapping" and other qwerks in the overall model texture mappings. Just a couple of liveries we have create are: Daredevil Lindbergh - a close representation of one of Lindbergh's early aircraft Another is a Jenny hanging from the roof in a museum - The Fish. I am normally fairly creative but this livery is a real beauty. There are over 20 other liveries already painted and you can check them out at the Ford Project - Coming Soon Page - click on any page top banner and you will be taken to the Coming Soon Page or the direct link is: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/coming-soon.htm We are trying to cover a good global use of this girl and give her a burst of life for simmers that enjoy LOW and SLOW flying in the simulators. There is still several more to be repainted up for this girl - some listed on the Coming Soon Page. IMPORTANT - These liveries are for the FS2004 Default Curtiss Jenny JN4D aircraft - HOWEVER, I believe that the aircraft ports very easily to FSX and these liveries will work very well in FSX as well (even a little bit richer) So if your interested in LOW and SLOW flying in your sim (FS2004 or FSX) then there are some pretty good new liveries soon to become available, hopefully early August 2014 That's all for now - hope you enjoy our FREE stuff designed for your simulator entertainment. Regards Garry and Edward.

Also available on the Curtiss Jenny page is copies of the Microsoft Jenny aircraft for both the FSX and FS2004 sim programs - each includes a three pack of liveries. Two Paint Kits are also available. If you want to check them out there is a slideshow at: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/counter/Curtiss-Counter/click.php?id=54 To get access to the liveries and other Curtiss Jenny stuff - surf to http://www.ford-tri-motor.net click on Other Aircraft link and then navigate to the Curtiss Jenny page. Or direct link http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/curtiss-jenny.htm I hope you enjoy these textures from the Ford Project Team Regards Garry and Edward
  6. Hi Good People, Edward Moore and I thought the DH91 aircraft and livery pack, recently released by the Ford Project Team, could do with a little bonus pack of liveries to enrich your flying fun with this model by Jans B. Kristensen. See http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Misc-Aircraft.htm to get the original aircraft pack with 18 liveries (including paint kit) and to have a better look at the images for the Livery Bonus Pack for the DH91 It is very close to release - just have to build a self installer and a document on how to cut and past the expanded aircraft list in the aircraft.cfg file to add the extra's to the existing pack. Will let you know when it is all ready for you to download and enjoy. Regards and happy simming.
  7. Hi Good People, Recently I discovered by chance that a volume of some of the best Ford Tri-Motor Project products had been poached from either the big sites (that we authorised to distribute some components of the Ford Stuff) or from the Ford Site itself and was being illegally distributed by an unauthorised web site. I will not give this "suck and publish" site the advantage of FREE advertisement and traffic by naming the site - suffice to say that they have been made aware of the consequence of their illegal publications and have promptly removed all of the unauthorised Ford Project related product from their site. Edward and I carefully monitor the "download" numbers from our site and the authorised sites and from that make decisions on what is popular and warrants new and further development along that particular path. Those that appear to be not so popular go onto the backburner. This pirate site facilitated several thousand downloads of stuff that we did not know about - one product had over three times the downloads from the pirate site than we had in total for that product and in the other cases more than twice as many downloads as we had records for. Several of the Scenery Packs (totalling over 1000 downloads) were missing critical components - AI Traffic, building models and textures which are provided by other packs available from the Ford Site. This disadvantaged the downloader and would have implied that our product is faulty. This also seriously skewed our perspective on what was popular and therefore some important projects were stalled because of our incorrect understanding fostered by this piracy. In a nutshell - because of the illegal distribution without consent or authorisation the Ford Project has had some very serious impacts for simmers and our current and future developments. Another consequence for the simming community is that they are possibly missing out on their expectations of what The Ford Project Team is currently developing and what we will develop in the future. The Ford Tri-Motor Project site is a vast and overall very complex project with many interactive components and everything is provided totally FREE. The projects exists for your flight sim enjoyment - to ensure quality and development paths to suit your preferences we need to be selective about the distribution agents we use to ensure the products we make available are complete and recorded as legitimate downloads. The only authorised sites for distribution of our products are the Ford Tri-Motor Project Site, www.GJSmith.net, and the following sites that have specially selected releases: www.Flightsim.com, www.AVSIM.com, www.Simviation.com and www.sim-outhouse.com If you have downloaded anything related to the Ford Tri-Motor Project from any "unauthorised" site then please feel free to visit the Ford site (http://www.ford-tri-motor.net) and obtain the genuine and complete products for your needs. Any Ford Project product that you may come across that you think may be from an unauthorised site please send us a quick e-mail and we will resolve the problem. Your support in this matter will help us to maintain and continue to provide the best product we can for your enjoyment. Sorry for the "wordy" thread but Piracy has many and varied impacts on our work as it does on other developers work and needed some clarifications. Regards Edward and Garry Your Ford Project Team.
  8. Hi Jigsaw Puzzle Buffs, As many may know, over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project site we have some electronic Flight Sim related Jigsaw Puzzles. The puzzles are of course focussed on FS2004 and the images created for the Project Site. But that does not limit the entertainment you will enjoy from tinkering with these puzzles. This thread is to advise that we, Edward Moore and I, have put in a bucket of time and effort and have now created another 82 puzzles which are now available - now a total of 292 exciting jigsaws to entertain you. The current puzzles have proved to be very popular with over 50,000 downloads to date and many seem to have enjoyed most, if not all, of them. Now an extra 82 and now 4 full pages of Puzzles. And we have upped the anti - the last 14 puzzles on Page 4 are "different" Lots of good images and good fun challenges for those that may enjoy a unique break from serious simming every now and again. Pop on over to the Ford Tri-Motor Project site (http://www.ford-tri-motor.net) and click on the Puzzle page button - or for those that want direct access: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/puzzle-page.htm Regards and Happy Simming to all.

  10. Hi Good People, As many of you may be aware over at the Ford Project Site last week we released a very large batch of Curtiss Jenny JN4D liveries for the Default Microsoft aircraft. Last Sunday I decided to have a bit of a tinker with the 3D Virtual Cockpit image and convert one to match the overall livery style so that when in the VC mode your view of the aircraft textures were in sync with the theme of the aircraft instead of the default white/grey style. Came out pretty good actually - so set myself a mission - convert all VC view for every one of the textures we have available for FREE download from the site - big job - finished them all yesterday after a solid week of graphics work. Two images to show what I mean: First the current livery - USAAC Which now has this image installed for the Virtual Cockpit 3D all around view from within the VC. Every single Jenny livery on the Ford Project Site now has a graphically similiar VC view to match their overall livery theme. The big annoying factor is that if you want to get hold of these VC texture enrichments it is best to download the livery again from the Ford Project Site - sorry - but the end result is worth it I think. Where do you get them:http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/curtiss-jenny.htm All free for your flight sim pleasure. When you visit the Curtiss Jenny Page you will notice down further on the page that we are almost complete on a three pack of Camo liveries for the Jenny - will release them sometime this week - with their 3D views already done. Regards Garry
  11. Hi Good People, We (the Ford Project Team) have finished off a Scenery Expansion Pack of airfields for the Ford Tri-Motor Project. It is a package of 4 historical (1930's era) airfields within the Indo-China area known as Manchukuo. Additionally there is a 5th airfield, a French Colony area known as Fort Bayard which is a link between the Manchukuo group of airfield to the existing Ford-India-Project (see http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/ford-india-project.htm) These airfield are all works of fiction but try to capture the look and feel of China in the 1930's See image1 http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/work-area-edward/FM-Advert1.jpg See image2 http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/work-area-edward/FM-Advert2.jpg There is well over 100 special scenery 3D models (using over 800 images) that have been created for this project and there is a mixture from lightly populated to rather heavily populated airfields within this package of 5 airfields. The package is 35mb in zip format. The package is totally self contained - no need for any other Ford Project Scenery to be pre installed. Because of the size and complexities of some of these airfields and the massive amount of unique models being used both Edward and I thought it would be advantagious to get some testing done of the package before we release it to the masses. :-) Therefore, I am seeking some volunteers to contact me for an advanced copy of this scenery pack who will give the 5 airfield a bit of a hammering within their FS2004 environment and let me know if it all runs smoothly with minimum Frame Rate impacts etc. Also for their recommendations on anything that they may notice. You can contact me via a Personal Message through this forum or by e-mail to garry@gjsmith.net Regards Garry and Edward Your Ford Project Team
  12. Hi Good People, Long time since my last post on the forums - Had some major health issues for a while but getting over them after several months of rest and recuperation. I am now at a stage in my recovery that Edward and I thought it was time for a bit of light duties starting off with some repaints of the Default Microsoft FS2004 Piper Cub J-3 aircraft. A sad little aircraft for FS2004 that was an important aircraft in aviation history but seems to have lacked a bucket or repaints. After setting up a blank master and doing some tests I discovered why this aircraft has a lack of repaints - the texture mappings are some of the poorest I have ever encountered. Mirror Mappings everywhere - and lots of it sloppy, distortions and stretched areas to fit poorly cut areas - lots of them inverted, stretched or flipped and even worse no real logic to some of the mappings. Here is an image of what I had to work with as a basis for my repaints for this girl: As you can see, this mapping makes repainting this girl extremely limiting - a real challenge to give her a bit of vibrancy and suitable eye candy to make her a nice visual flying model. We started off the repaint project with just a few liveries in mind - then a couple more, and some more - decided to round it off at 15 then 18 then 20 - we stopped there  Anyway, the 20 FREE liveries are now available for your flight sim entertainment and hopefully enjoyment - Surf to http://www.ford-tri-motor.net Click on the Other Aircraft Button and follow the link to the Piper Cub J-3 repaints. Regards Garry and Edward Your Ford Tri-Motor Project Team.
  13. Hi Good People, Many of you might know that the Ford Tri-Motor Project has pumped out a ton of FS2004 releated Product for the Ford Project, wide range of historical aircraft, thousands of liveries and absolutely tons of scenery. Recently we implemented the Jens B. Kristensen's DH91 aircraft within the project as an FS2004 package. With Jens consent of course. As Jens had also developed a FSX specific version of the DH91 we, the Ford Project Team, thought we might be a little bit adventurious and package and publish an FSX release on the Ford Site. This will be our very first excursion into FSX product release - done to see if any FSX'ers out there might enjoy something from the Ford Project that was specifically developed for your enjoyment. If this venture is fruitful for you and there is enough interest then we may publish much more FSX based projects in tandam with the plethora of stuff we have available. Where can you get the FSX DH91 - here: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Misc-Aircraft.htm I hope that you enjoy this old girl and the 30 odd liveries plus some paint kits. Happy Simming to you all. Regards Garry Smith and Edward Moore.

  17. Hi Good People, After tons and tons of work - Edward Moore and I are pleased to announce that Parts 3 and 4 of the Ford India Project are now ready for you to download and enjoy. These two parts include many extra airfields all rendered to a 1930's era - far too many pictures to choose from to show what is in the new packs - so will leave it to you to check them out on the web page: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/ford-india-project.htm This brings the project up to 30 historically rendered airfields completed and many more still in planning for developing. The Ford India Project has become a growing entity from the initial development of Pondicherry. We have are expanding the project to all of India reaching out to Cairo and plan on going right down to Brisbane Australia in historical airfield hops. And Edward has plans for linking to Indochina and England. You can see a map of what airfields have been done and some of those that are planned for the future by clicking the below link: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/images/Projects/India/Imperial-Route-planning-Part4.jpg I think you will all enjoy the additions in the new Part3 and Part4 releases - some innovation and some serious fun flying The Ford India Project is building into a real adventure set of 1930's era fun scenery.
