  1. I've been running FSX on an Alienware M17X R2 for well over a year now.I didn't just buy the machine to run FSX, but I do spend 100+ nights a year on the road, so a desktop was not an option for me.In additiion to FSX, I run PMDG NGX, Ultimate Traffic 2, GFX, Active Sky 2012 and a few other addons.Overall, I get reasonably good performance. I have never seen it drop below 18 fps in worst case scenarios. The norm is 30+ fps and I am pleased with that, given the machine I am running. Obviously, I do not have all my settings maxed out, but have settled on a nice compromise.Had I not needed portability, I would most certainly have purchased a desktop and could have gotten a lot more for the price I paid for the M17X.Best regards,Carl WarrenWaverley, NS, CanadaAlienware M17X R2Windows 7 Professional 64i7 Q720 @1.60 GHzATI Mobility Radeon HD 58008 Gigs memory

  4. Hi Folks,Here is a scan of the actual BA41 checklist we used at Air Atlantic in the late '90's before the company folded. It worked well.Regards,Carl WarrenWaverley. NS, Canada
  5. It is a thing of beauty! Thanks.Carl Warren
  6. No, it is not, on this aircraft, nor any other one I have ever flown. In a 767, it reads 20' on the ground.Carl Warren
  7. If my memory serves me correctly, the radar altimeter antenna is located in aft lower fuselage, making it about 5 feet above the ground (to the nearest 5 feet).Carl Warren
  8. Nice work :)However, if a Garrett engine produces any kind of smoke, or drips oil, it is broken. :)Conversely, if a Pratt & Whitney engine is not dripping oil, then there is no oil in it.Nice effects. Thanks!Carl Warren
  9. Hello All,I flew this very aircraft at Air Atlantic for a few years and was an instructor/check pilot. I forgot how quirky (and noisy) this little beast was, until I purchased this excellent product. The documentation you provide is very thorough and the external model is faithfully replicated and painted in Air Atlantic's livery. Our company was the only one who ordered a dual-cue FD, so the single-cue FD provided is a bit of a local anomoly, but no problem.I just successfully completed a flight from CYQX to CYYT and it went mostly well. The realism you have created is just as challenging as the real aircraft itself. There are a few little bugs remaining, but this is an outstanding product. SP1 should make it even better.Bigger is not always better, when it comes to simulated aircraft. In many ways, smaller turboprops are usually more complicated than bigger jet aircraft. It you like a mental challenge, then get this on your hard drive as fast you can!Well done, PMDG!Sincerely,Carl WarrenCYHZPS: Please correct the livery title in the download section to read "Air Atlantic (Canadian Partner)". That was our name. - CW
  10. Hello,Real 737-200 and 737-500 driver here.1. RTO is NEVER used for landing, in fact it will not work due to the conditions required to arm it for an RTO.2. Most of the time, 737's just use flaps 30 for landing because of 2 factors. First, with certain hush-kit installations on the -200's, use of flap forty would cause an exceedance of noise abatement requirements due to higher thrust settings. Second, it is less economical to use flaps 40 due to the extra drag and fuel burns. It is only used when runway conditions preclude a normal flaps 30 landing. The VREF speed differences are minimal anyways. I have also heard pilots say that a go-around is more difficult with an engine failure when using flaps 40, again, due to the higher drag.Hope this answers your questions.Regards,Carl
