  1. It still happens, yes. I had tried several short flights, default, engines running, and several times where I had just loaded the aircraft on the runway, default engines running, clicked the A/P and then disconnected with the yoke black button, right click shortcut screw. It didn't make any difference. As a FYI: It seems that when either the A/P alarm goes off or the Crew Alertness Monitor alarm went off (set to NO now ) , they won't be silenced off. I clicked a bunch of functions in the FMC to silence that alarm ( PROG, VNAV, INT/REF, etc. ) after the alarm sounded but it stayed on until the FSX was rebooted. I swear, the 777 knows I secretly have her ranked third behind the stronger feelings I have for the MD11 and the 74's.
  2. I can wait three whoop's, I can wait 5 whoop's, I can wait, 7 whoop's, I can wait, 1 whoop, I can wait three whoop's. whup's, already said that. I can wait ( fill in the blank here ). I can click's the black button on the yoke, I can right click's the short cut screw. They don't shut the horn off. Changing the resettable siren from siren to wailer gives me a different sound to listen to. After I get my the first sound not shutting off, I can, then, go in and set the resettable to the other and have two sounds to listen to. No sense just letting one sound have all the fun.
  3. Merlin216 I agree with you 100%. I was just reading thru a bunch of manuals and am just sitting on an active runway after just loading FSX. Just sitting there and throttled up a bit and sound warning come on for 'config flaps' and I wasn't sure how to turn that off. I just quickly put CTRL+J into the Captain, the FO's Warnings > Master Warnings for the heck of it but it didn't shut off the warning sound so I cleared it out. Yeah, I think I'll just shut off the sound by turning the warning sound level to 0. Make some miles, digest it some more, see what shakes. Blue skies.
  4. Sadly, my new, left at default factory settings, Saitek flight yoke made no difference to the horn still sounding after disconnect. I disconnected my old x52 joystick, rebooted comp several times, installed new yoke drivers and such in a new folder with new config tool. A bit of me was hoping it might have had to do with the old joystick but really didn't think so. So I left the new yoke at default settings and checked it out with the freighter and passenger 777's. The yoke seems to be working fine at default. Loaded FSX and freighter and turned on A/P. I disconnected the A/P with the black button on the virtual cockpit yoke with 1 1/2 second between button presses, right clicked the short cut screw with the 1 1/2 second wait time. I did these several times each. Never touched the A/P Disengage Bar. My FSX A/P button is 'Z'. My A/P Disengage Switch in the FMC is SHIFT+CTRL+Z. Resettable Siren in the FMC is Yes FSUIPC4 Registered, I only clicked the ' Weather Settings Off ' button I did all of the above with the passenger 777 as well. Both 777's are the default and only 777's installed. This is such a great bird, I'd probably even go so far as to re install my FSX or maybe even reinstall my WIN7 if need be. I'm feeling a little fresher now. This yoke feels really comfortable too. I don't know. It just doesn't make sense that this alarm won't shut off. Must solve this mystery.
  5. vc10man I tried that too. Didn't work for me. I'm going to install my new yoke now and see what happens. Cheers.
  6. scandinavian13 I have USPIC4 registered but don't use it much yet. The only setting I have changed is to click the ' Weather Settings Off ' button. I screw-up all the time, hehe. No worries. ( I'm probably going to make a big mess out of this post. ) Here's a picture of my FSX settings. Hopefully I did this right. I'm not much on forums. As far as reinstalling the 777's, I got the feeling it wasn't in the pmdg but something the way I had it set up but couldn't figure anything else to do so a fresh install seemed the way to go. (<--- I can't get this font to change. Copy and pasted or something. )My pictures don't want to post and I'm not sure if I'm doing it properly. My settings in FSX look the same as Steven_Daffey except I have nothing in the joystick and repeat sections where he has Button 4, Button 3 and the two sliders. As a further: I'm using a Saitek X52 as a joystick but it's got over 12k hours on it and is, literally, falling apart. I wouldn't think my problem is because of my old joystick but stranger things have probably happened. I just received my new Saitek Yoke System as I'm writing this. Maybe with my fresh 777 install and new yoke I will install it and see what happens. I most likely will have to trouble shoot still though but who knows, eh. This troubleshooting wears me out and is affecting my calm. Robert McDonald I checked and my joystick is enabled in FSX. Thanks, though. Thanks for all the help everyone. Very much appreciated. I'll hang in here but am just very tired, not the sleepy tired. My apologies to you, as well, as I try to figure out how to use these forum tools. Positive note: The OOM situation I've been also quietly working on seems to be resolved. B)
  7. Steven_Caffey I can't seem to get my joystick button to show up like you have in your picture. I just get the Z to show under the keyboard. When I click my joystick button to set it, it just put's a Z under the keyboard column, no button number, no repeat. In the PMDG it's set to CTRL+SHIFT+Z. I uninstalled my 777 passenger and freighter. Rebooted my comp several times and loaded FSX a couple times as well, Installed the 777. Loaded FSX a few times and rebooted my comp several times. Loaded the default freighter and flew a short flight and alarm still won't shut off. Slept on it and after some hours of rest I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this bird, mothball it or fly it. I was feeling a bit like I was in the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, with a little spin on it. I took my plane out last night and it sang to me. Hehe I'll still try to figure out what is causing it but not sure if I am willing to be flying long hauls and not be able to disconnect the A/P and have to listen to my musical friend from then on until reboot. I need to think on this. Thanks much for everyone's help.
  8. Move over sliced bread.
  9. I finished my cargo flight. Rebooted comp. Did a short cargo flight and still have the alarm remaining on. FSX set to 'Z' PMDG set to CTRL+SHIFT+Z, Resettable siren YES, AP DISC Warning WAILER, Used CTRL+SHIFT+Z twice, used my joystick button twice, Right clicked the shortcut screw twice. The second clicks were after the 1 1/2 seconds. I did this several times. I did not use the AP Disengage Bar. No joystick or other settings in my registered FSUIPC4. I'm going to try a short passenger flight now after another comp reboot.. Actually, when I rebooted the comp and loaded a Px 777, I just clicked the A/P. Let it sit for about five seconds and then I disconnected it. Same settings as my previous post. Same result. Wailer stays sounding. Reset the AP DISC Warning to Siren and now they're both sounding and won't shut off. Hehehe I don't really wish to uninstall and then reinstall but I just may have to do that. Darn.
  10. I don't recall using the cold and dark. I start with engines running, turn fuel control switches off. No cold and dark state.
  11. CTRL+SHIFT+Z is now what I have set in the PMDG section. A/P disconnects on first click, warning light extinguishes on the second click. Still have the wailer/siren. I start with the engines running state.
  12. I deleted the FSX A/P Master with the CTRL+SHIFT+J and I see it's finally gone. Just the CTRL+J is there now. The A/P disconnects on the first click and the warning light goes out on the second click. I still have the wailer/siren.
  13. I went into the FSX button/Keys and changed the Auto Pilot Master from 'Z' to 'CTRL J' Interestingly though, I went it to the FSX button/keys right after to check and saw that there was again a Autopilot Master (On/Off) CTRL J, as well as an Autopilot Master (On/Off) CTRL+SHIFT+Z hmmmm
  14. PMDG Setup > Options > Key Commands > Autoflight Page 7/7 Disengage Bar has no keys set, A/P Disengage Switch is 'Z', I have a wailer and siren sounding right now. I tried CTRL+SHIFT+Z and still have the alarm. Then I changed the 'Z' key to CTRL+SHIFT+Z and give that a try but it doesn't shut down the alarm. I thought I had read somewhere that if we use the A/P Disengage Bar we would get the alarm sounding all the time but I made sure not to use the A/P Disengage Bar. I'm not sure what you mean by 'hard disconnect'.
  15. My AP is 'Z', my Alt Hold uses the 'Ctlr Z' and I don't use the Cold and Dark panel state yet. It seems that once I get a wailer or siren, I'm stuck with it until I shutdown my FSX. lol Only five more hours to go on this flight. I set my alarm volume to 10.
