I've installed FS9 and FSX on 2 different harddisks.Is it possible to install TPbeta4 for FS9 only,in such a way that FSX-SP1 is left as it is?Almost sure that FSX/TP would'nt make it on my low end machine (AMD Athlon XP2600+ 2Ghz, RAM 1.5 GB, GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB, windowsXP SP2).RegardsFrans

I'm missing that feature in FSX deluxe edition aswell.In FS9 I frequently used the tower view located at a 'human eye' elevation near the rwy to simulate GA and heli radio-controle-mode. Using the FSX high tower view for RC-mode isn't really the same. Franshu

Hi all,When I install an external hard drive via usb2.0(e.g. a 7200 rpm,250 GB,480 Mbits/sec transfer speed), can it be used to install FS9 on it and run FS9 with about the same performance as on an internal hard drive? Or is an external hd only to be used as a backup tool?I am running out of memory on my 40 GB internal...:( Frans

Hi Chris,Instead of using the keyboard as a PTT switch you could use a joystick button.A small freeware utility program that converts joystick input into keyboard input is JoyToKey.It can be downloaded at:http://www.mehdiplugins.comgo to their 'LINKS' which brings up a program list,one of them is the JoyToKey (file name jtk379en.zip).Frans

Hi all,- RC4 give departure instructions that vary according to your distance from the first waypoint.- RC4 normally give vectors for arrival which are different from the star in the cleared flight plan.Though there is an option to choose IAP so that you can fly the cleared star.I wonder how these procedures are handled in real life and also how AVSIM/IVAO controllers deal with sid/star procedures when flying online.Frans

Hi all,I recently received the RCv4 CDrom and also my key code.I made a flight plan in FSNavigator, saved it, exported it to FS2004,started FS2004 (in window mode) and loaded the fight plan in FS2004. Via the 'start- program files-RadarContact' I launched RC.In the RC window I clicked the button 'FS200x,Fl plan,*.pln'.The small 'loading indicator' that appears beneath that button runs up to about 25 pct and then RC generates an error message:"Run time error 713 Class not registered.You need the following file to be installed on your machine MSSTDFMT.DLL ".I downloaded that file from internet, installed it in Windowssystem32 but I keep getting the same error message.My system:AMD Athlon XP 2.8 Gb, DDR 512Mb ,Geforce4 Ti4200 8xAGP, WindowsXP home edition SP1.Any hint to help me out would be appreciated.Frans

I want to set the 'scenery complexity' slider from 'Normal' to 'Sparse', but when I do so I also lose an addon scenery on an airfield that I want to keep.My question: is there a way to keep the addon scenery active whilst the scenery complexity slider is on sparse?Thanks in advance for an answer.FransSystem WinXP, FS9.1

As I am not familiar with texture files I didn't succeed to make the S7 prop disk less dark. However I got rid of the spinning disk in a simple way :-make a copy of C172_prop.bmp (from C172texture)-start DXTBmp.exe (freeware prgm v 4.00.82) and open the copied file as 'extended bitmap' type- use menu 'save' (not 'save as...' ) rename file 'prop.bmp' and select DXT1 file type-after renaming the original S7 prop.bmp file (in both s7 texture folders:in order to keep it as a backup) paste the new prop.bmp file in both texture folders.Result: the prop is still there when the motor is off but after the motor is started the spinning prop is invisible...Hope someone comes up with a better solution...The S7 is a marvellous addon, thanks alot Steven.Franshu
