DCS & Rudder Peddals
Hi There I'm new to DCS World. Try as I might I cannot get my CH Rudder pedals to work. I've tried the official procedure with no luck. Anybody got any ideas? My Thrustmaster HOTAS works a treat, I've even got my rudder pedals to operate the throttle, but no luck with the rudder. :( Rgds Steve H

Re Download
I must say the procedure did confuse me. The PMDG e mail said go to the portal and raise re download ticket.. However, it didn't say how and for a first time visitor I was at a bit of a loss. The simple words " log in first" would have solved the problem. Rgds Steve H

Flying Tips
HiI've just upgraded to Win7 64 Bit and whilst I've had a few problems with FS9 I have overcome most of them. However, flying tips an remains an annoying problem. I have disabled "Show flying Tips" but they still keep displaying, including a really niggling one about low fuel. I have checked the FS9 CFG and that shows QuickTips=0. Has anybody got any idea how to solve this problem? RgdsSteve h

RNAV(GPS) Approaches
Hi There I've noted that an increasing number of US airport IAPs include RNAV approaches. Is it possible to set up an RNAV approach using the MD11 FMC? Does this type of approach have to be hand flown or can you use the automatics? The approach that I have in mind is the PHNL IAP for Runway 8R. I would appreciate any help or advice that anyone can give me regarding this matter.RgdsSteve HoneyLincolnUK

afcad file for BWIv2?
MikeI've just installed this scenery and it works a treat. Try installing the scenery into a temp folder. In addition to the KBWI and Effects folders you will see a Scenery folder. This contains the AF2 bgl. Place the KBWI into the FS Addon Scenery Folder{do not open it} Open the effects folder and place the contents into the FS Effects folder. Open the Scenery folder and place the AF2 bgl into your FS Addon scenery/scenery folder. Start FS and add KBWI in the usual manner. I think the problem is with the AF2 bgl being placed in a separate folder. Have a poke about for a stray scenery folder in Addon Scenery.RGDSSteve HLincoln UK

EGHJ(Humberside) No runways or approaches
HelloI have noticed that there are no runways or approches for EGNJ in the PMDG FMC. I am using the latest AIRAC 910. I have looked at the PMDG SIDs STARs and EGNJ is there showing the runways and a couple of approaches. Why is the FCM not picking these up?RgdsSteve H

MD11(FS9) FMC Gremlins
Gentlemen (and Ladies)Try this one! Flying from EHAM to KSFO with an alternate of KOAK, about 10:50 hr flight time. About 8 hrs into the flight and all is well, I'm not flying with ATC so I've set up the approach and landing to KSFO, a GOLDEN GATE FIVE with my own vectors to an ILS on RWY 28L. At this point bed time has arrived so with everything set (including pause at TOD) I toddle of to bed. Up early to get the flight underway I find that pause at TOD has worked as advertised. However, the FMC hasn't, my flight plan, STAR and ILS approach to KSFO has disappeared and I'm heading straight for KOAK. Oh dear what a muddle and despite my best efforts I was unable to recover the original plan. I then tried to set up an approach to KOAK; to cut along story short I ended up in a complete bu**ers muddle and had to abandon the whole thing. This is not the first the FMC has done it's own thing, the other day on the way in to KJFK it suddenly inserted a 2000 ft step climb 2 miles before TOD. I managed to sort that one out and got down OK. So what am I doing wrong? I'm working my way through the manual but I've not read anything that would have got me out of my KSFO situation.RgdsSteve HLincoln UK

Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar Joystick Vs CH Pro Rudder Pedals
GentlemenLast night, whilst trying to take off in the Cessna 172, I lost directional control. In other words my rudder pedals ceased to function. Further investigation revealed the fact that the aircraft rudder was moving rapidly back and forth and that my CH rudder pedals were having no effect whatsoever. After some fiddling around I discovered that by disconnecting / reconnecting the Thrustmaster Hotas system the rudder returned to normal. Tonight I've switched on and at the moment everything seems to seems to be OK. This is the second time this has happened and I was wondering if anybody else has had the problem or has got any idea on possible cause. RgdsSteve H

Using FMS
I've had a problem with the tutorial. On my first flight (last night) the aircraft failed to descend at the TOD and simply carried on at 37000ft. I must have done something wrong but what? I think that things went wrong when I inserted the STAR. However, I will try again tonight.RgdsSteve H
