  1. Are you taking the text from a picture or image (not using the text tool)? If so then it is likely you will have a white box around the text, this is the background layer from when you made it.Have you still got the file with the text you created on? If you've saved it as a psd and did it correctly, the simpliest method be to drag off that layer and onto your paint scheme psd. If not then it still should be workable as 100% white goes transparent when the layer mode is set to multiply (as previously said). Is this of any help: Click

    VCs

I think what I could say has already been said, but for what its worth.. VCs all the way :-) For me, in FS2004 VCs perform better than 2D panels.. and I'm running a GF2 MX400 64mb!(new computer on its way soon though) The frame rates are easily usable.Like an above posters signature, if doesn't have a vc then shes going nowhere.
  3. Hey Jonathan :)I don't know what the PMDG 737 textures look like or how well the mapping is, but a possible way could be to do the rear section of the fuselage as if the tail was there. Then duplicate the paint scheme layer and place the desired parts on the tail.. then fine adjustments.
  4. File name is boeing_777232er_delta_soaringspirit.zipThere also appears to be a nice 757 in the same livery, search "Soaring Spirit" as a general search.
  5. Hey :)What 777 is it using? I would guess that the text is reversed because both engines share the same texture. Just had a check, if you're using the default 777 then its likely this is the problem. MS mapped their aircraft for performance, so there are parts which are shared between areas. I see there is the same repaint made for the MelJet 777 but I guess you wanted the virtual cockpit?
  6. I would suggest converting the main exterior textures.. not sure what you mean by panels. I wouldn't have though you'd get much gain.. you could of course always try and see the effect (remember to back up textures first) :)
  7. Hey Mark :)http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htmScroll to the bottom and download it. The reason for you getting this error message is because Photoshop is unable to read the bmp.. most likely it is in DXT3 format. Open the bmp in DXTBmp and save it as a 32bit. You should now be able to open it in Photoshop.. To resave, save the bmp as a 32bit when Photoshop prompts you and open it in DXTBmp. Either convert it to 32bit or DXT3.. hopefully it should have kept its alpha channel.See my site, http://members.lycos.co.uk/mcwdainow/ (work in progress).
  8. Hey :)It is possible that you are experiencing the common mistake of mip maps, if you aren't already using DXTBmp to convet bmps then I advise you to. I don't know about other programs, but DXTBmp can easily be set to not save mip maps when converting.
  9. It sounds like this could relate to the texture being transparent, with the alpha channel controlling it. If it doesn't appear to be creating any problems then I wouldn't worry about. Sorry I don't know how to make it have transparency.. maybe someone with a little experience with this could chime in :)
  10. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the way POSKY aircraft are mapped. If the texture appears to be there.. are you sure it is the correct model for that paint kit.. or if there are any model updates that could have moved this piece of mapped texture?
  11. Hey edrosario :)Sorry for the late reply, I would also put the blame on mip maps. Remove those pesky things and see how she looks.. let us know the result :9
  12. Hey edrosario :)Your first image isn't working for some reason, would be helpful to see it. Is the second picture the original PSS livery or your one? I'm not sure what the first image was but a comparision would be good between both paint schemes. Are you converting from an already made paint scheme bmp, modifying it then converting it back?
  13. Hey Jeff :)Yep, I understand. Sometimes what people do is infact make the fuselage an off white colour, maybe a really light grey. They then add the rivets and line hi lights underneath the paint scheme. This means if you painted onto it you would see the rivet hi lights etc.Anyway..If you need any help with anything just post in here, I'm always floating about through these forums.. I'll see if I can help :)If you like extensive paint kits.. you could always try out my AirHead Decathlon paint kit if you haven't already..This is a link to a little site I'm making, tutorials on certain areas of repainting. Many of them are not done.. but the ones that have been may be of some use to you in some way. http://members.lycos.co.uk/mcwdainow/Let me know if they are :)
  14. Jeff, have you experimented with setting your paint scheme layer mode to "Multiply"? Just making sure..
  15. Sorry, can't help you. But that paint is coming along great! :)
  16. Hmmm odd, it looks the same in both Firefox and IE for me. It isn't all of the preview images, but the ones that do appear compressed to me aren't just mine.I'll experiment with things.
  17. Saw this and thought I'd take it as an opportunity to join the forums again. :)Just to say, I too get this problem.http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Loca...e&ImageID=79814That was my latest upload, showing the poor compression. Using IE here..I think it started after the big file library overhaul, although I may be a bit off there.
