  1. Really enjoying this series, looks like a great place to hang out! :)
  2. Awesome shots, love the Texan/Harvard :) Wish there was enough shots of her for me to paint.
  3. >>The same we'd say about Windows Millenium OS.>That made me shudder a little, I struggled with that OS for 2 years.. ;)
  4. It didn't draw me because of the theme as I was already planning on buying it.. of course :) However it is possible that people who would not have usually bought flight sims would be interested in the theme.. generating more sales :) Just my view anyway..
  5. Hey Leen :)I've never had anyone "borrow" my work as yet, probably because I don't paint majorly popular aircraft. However I understand where you're coming from.. it would have been nice for the person to at least email you asking if they could use it. I regularly look at the bmps of quality repaints just to try and see how they've done certain things, I find its very useful to develop new techniques.. wouldn't ever try and use their textures thought :)
  6. How about this one? :) I don't want to think about the price when its launched..http://www.artlebedev.com/portfolio/optimus/
  7. Sorry I can't help out, but I've got the Creative Inspire (now called P380) 2.1 speaker and subwoofer set. Very pleased with the quality and results.. now all I need is a proper sound card and I'm all set on the sound front :)
  8. 8 bit is really not the format you want to convert to, its mainly used for panels. The problem you are describing may be mipmaps, open the bmp up in DXTBmp, on the right there is a box saying "include when saving".. uncheck it.
  9. Save the bmps from the program as 32bit and convert to either DXT3 or 32bit using DXTBmp :)
  10. Just thought I'd say its a great little bird.. just the thing to go for a quick burn up in :)I can go from start up to shut down.. the Magneto/Starter switch works for me fine.By the way.. Dire Straits.. now thats a band ;)
  11. I'm unsure of how this particular aircraft is structured.. but hopefully its fairly similar. These are the steps I take, some do it differently.. anyway..Save the template file as a bmp from photoshop. Save the alpha channel as a seperate bmp.Use DXTBmp, open the paint scheme in it.Import the alpha channel.Resave as either 32bit of DXT3 depending on preference.Theres a little tutorial on my site (link below) about converting paint schemes for flight sim use. Let me/us know if you need any more help :)
  12. My guess is they're using different tiles for differen't parts of the runway. You're not going to get the result you want with the default scenery, the runway shares tiles all the way down it. (I think.. I'm no scenery developer so more than happy to be proved wrong :))
  13. I certainly didn't.. thats what I call low! ;)
  14. Great shots, wouldn't mind having that P38 in my hangar :)
  15. Odd, there shouldn't be anything wrong with the psd in PSP9. Shoot me an email, I've removed any layer properties on the paint kit supplied and moved all the contents to a new document.Andr
  16. Is this the kind of thing you had in mind? If so, drop me an email I can sort you out :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/124080.jpg
  17. Are you sure they're the psds and not the earlier bmp paint kit?
  18. The method I suggested above should work..I've just used a POSKY paint kit and painted it blue, then I flattened it. This should be the original state you were in.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123414.jpgI've now added the paint kit used to paint this aircraft, the paint scheme is at the top.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123415.jpgI've now added a random image, removed the white and placed it at the top, above the paint scheme layer.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123416.jpgSetting it to multiply will show the results you have posted.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123417.jpgNow I've merged the paint kit layers and placed it inbetween the logo and paint scheme layer.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123418.jpgWith the paint kit layer selected, I've pressed crtl and clicked it. The layer is now selected. I then inverted the selection.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123419.jpgPressing delete removes the paint kit around the selection, leaving only the piece the size of the logo. Setting it to multiply produces the results to are trying to achieve.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123420.jpg
  19. Will they get through if they're sent one by one? You could also try using a service such as Yousendit: http://www.yousendit.com/ :)
  20. Ok, I just thought of a way.. bare with me this is will sound a little odd. This sounds like an already completed repaint you're modding.. if so then do the following. You're going to need the paintkit for this aircraft and the bmp you wish to change.Open up the paint kit and place the base layer over the top of the repaint you're modding.Place the logo you wish to put onto the tail over the top of this base layer. With the base layer selected, press ctrl and click the logo layer (this is how it works in Photoshop, I'm hoping it works in PSP the same way)Hopefully this will marquee the outline of the logo.Invert the selection, I don't know how it is done in PSP.. you can probably search it in the help files if you can't find it.Hit delete, this will make the base layer into the shape of the logo. Change the logo layer to multiply.Thaats a fairly bodged way of doing it.. let me know how it works out.. of if you need any help. :)
  21. You're going to need to merge the two layers, the logo and the blue. If you merge both of them into one then they will multiply onto the base texture :)I'm unaware of the circumstances but always try to keep some sort of original psd with all the layers intact, its certainly saved me a few times over the years! :)
  22. Hey Jason, no email here yet. It might be a lag somewhere along the line.. I also have mcwdainow@gmail.com, feel free to send there.
