  1. Congrats Saudi :) .. Now.. are you sure you want it? ;)
  2. Excellent shots! :)Never flown at night yet.. certainly looks interesting!
  3. Could never pass up on an offer like that.. that is if you haven't already given it away. :)
  4. Looks very interesting.. will keep a close eye on this ;)
  5. Have you converted the bmps for flight sim use in a program such as DXTBmp?If not, theres a tutorial on my website to help you :)
  6. The moderate G 360s mid downwind to increase spacing.. thats always fun :)Tonight is not my night for spelling.
  7. I'd say quite a bit easier in the real world. A real aircraft (talking GA here) is not half as twitchy as it is in flight sim. One point as well is the trim in flight sim is enormously over sensitive. I have no problem in trimming while in the real world but flight sim is another story ;)
  8. I hope this isn't classed as spamming.. not much action going on over here anyway :)These shots are from the second flight. This is the aircraft we flew in, Romeo Papa.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128768.jpgAs previously mentioned in the first post, this is my flying schools newly purchased brand new Pitts S2-Chttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128769.jpgStraight after deprating from 21 at Cranfield.. gentle right turn.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128770.jpgA view over a fairly typical British landscape.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128771.jpgMy "co-pilot" requesting to enter the circuit at Woburn for downwind.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128772.jpgSimilar shot like before, this is the second landing..with a pretty heavy crosswind. Note the lights are showing a perfect approach path once again ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128773.jpgJust after landing on the roll out.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128774.jpg
  9. Hey guys, thought you might like to see some of these shots. It was my birthday yesterday (Oct 1st). So we booked out one of my flying schools PA28s and went for a little cruise.. came back and picked up another set of pax :) Was my first time flying the PA28.. usually fly the Tomahawk. The airport is Cranfield, Bedford (EGTC)All of the fleet are in, theres all the Tomahawks on the left.. I usually fly Golf Lima which is the one the man in the orange jacket is getting in to. On the left are 2 PA28s (the one closet to the camera is the one I flew) and on the end is a retractable gear T-Tailed Arrowhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128732.jpgThis is also owned by my school.. it even has its on ramp at the airport! :) (The reg I think is pretty famous)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128733.jpgAll the inflight shots weren't taken by me.. as I was too busy flying ;)This is just after leaving runway 21 at Cranfield with a gentle right turn.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128734.jpgWeather wasn't the best but was no problem at all.. and the amount of lesson cancellations I've had in these few months we were pretty lucky. Certainly made for some cool shots.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128735.jpgI flew the entire time.. including landing. Note the PAPI lights ;).. was a pretty strong crosswind from the right as you can see.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128736.jpgI have some more shots coming sometime as my other passenger didn't bring his camera cable to connect to the PC.. so will post those shots sometime. It includes some nice shots of my flying schools recently bought brand new Pitts S2-C :)Anyway.. hope you like.
  10. Personally, I'm not to fond of 2D.. being a GA pilot in real life I find it just too.. 2D ;) However I would agree the pop ups such as radios are very useful.. I vote to keep both but maybe even an option in Flight Sim to "turn off" that particular view. So instead of having to cycle through the 2D panel, its the virtual cockpit by default.Edit: and the same for people who use 2D panels exclusively.
  11. Personally I don't think it would really matter whether it was freeware or payware. Its still the painter who is spending his own time doing the repaint. As for amount, its really up to you how much you wish to give.. but $5-10 is a respectable amount. Don't feel it bad to give him $20.. he'd be able to buy a nice payware with that :)

    Solo! (long)

I'll second what Jim said, very well written and congrats :)Hoping to go solo here in the UK in the next few months.. looking forward to the empty seat beside me.
  13. The only font I can see on the images is the reg, which I believe to be "Amarillo" but skewd (italics). Was this the font you were looking for?
  14. If you can't get them aligned by nudging pixel by pixel then unfortunately theres nothing you can do. The person who mapped the textures has not made sure a seemless line could be made down the fuselage.
  15. Sorry I can't help you out, however very nice paint scheme :)
  16. You can always back up the files they are replacing and just try them out..
  17. Unfortunately not, when its created in gmax (or another program) each piece of the model is assigned to whether the alpha channel makes it transparent or reflective. The only way you could do this is to contact the author of the vehicle and ask if they could help you out. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  18. Sorry, I should have worded it better. What I meant was the bmp (image you posted in your inital post) has the head sort of "unrolled".. the bits either side of the head are the side on views of the head. Probably not very important bit just thought I'd include it :)
  19. The way you can do it is just basically line up all the areas from your face photo to that on the bmp, you're going to need side photos as well.
  20. If its making the vehicle transparent, the chances are that it isn't set up to take reflections. It looks like you're doing the steps pretty much spot on, with the bmp open in DXTBmp import the alpha bmp and save it as either DXT3 or 32bit. Make sure that the alpha bmp has light shades of grey.. see if that helps :)
  21. Theres a screenshot forum down near the bottom of the listings.. I'm sure that would be a good place to post :)
