qwseyvnd replied to qwseyvnd's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI have one more question. Is that possible to make a simulator of just electromechanical components ?

Old minicomputers in ~1970.
qwseyvnd replied to qwseyvnd's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI investigated about 64KB limit, now I understood that 64KB for the 8-bit is not much. So, I'll find a 16-bit microcontroller.

Old minicomputers in ~1970.
qwseyvnd replied to qwseyvnd's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcHmm, just 64kb RAM? I saw a DC-10 full flight simulator with PDP-11 computer if you see in this internet-page http://www.dc10.no/ So, it is possible... So, I thinking those have a lot of "hand-held calculators" in each of instruments, and some mechanical components. Therefore, it is might possible. Any thoughts ?

Old minicomputers in ~1970.
How do they simulate the full flight simulator? Do they use a lot of cpu to connect them serial, for example altitude from 0 to 255 feet, then switch to next CPU from 256 to 511 feet, and so on ? Do they make many small CPU parts for each instrument ? Specialist computer ?

The gigaflops and the computer
I have two laptop, the oldest is Gateway P-7811FX, the newest is ASUS N73JN. You will find the exact specification in the internet. In the 3D graphics, the oldest should has around 288 gFlops, the newest has 233 gFlops; but in the X-plane, the first shows 22-24 FPS, the last shows 50 FPS, therefore the oldest should has around 61 FPS. But I checked the comparison of the nVidia graphics cards in the Wiki. According of this article, it is written that 9800m GTS has 51.6 GB/s memory bandwidth and GT 335M has 25.6 GB/s, so I think that it is the answer.

Number aircrafts in multiplayer, X-Plane 10
Hi all. How much airplanes limit in multiplayer in X-plane 10 ? I found it. That is me and 19 other multiplayer, so it is 20 aircrafts. Is it correct ?

I want that the mesh file is read up to Unreal Development Kit or CryENGINE SDK, is it possible ? For example a city or a forest area.

How to increase amount of A.I. aircraft in X-plane 10 ?
OK. It can't generate more than 20 flights each time ? I want 45+ aircrafts around and on the airport. Why is it there is no set flights in X-plane 10 ?

How to increase amount of A.I. aircraft in X-plane 10 ?
Hmm... I found it now. I am so surprised, just 20? What if an airport has 45+ airplanes, what to do ?

How to increase amount of A.I. aircraft in X-plane 10 ?
I'm searching for the function but I didnt find it in X-plane 10 menu. So... Where can I find it ?

Putting the traffic in the X-plane 10
Hi all folks. In the X-plane 10, how can I make an AI flightplan and then putting in the simulator?

In ubuntu, I Can't install X-Plane 10.
To Tierborn: It sounds that you never use Linux. The Installer and Update is same file to run. The update will run when it have been detected that there is a X-Plane 10 installed in Linux distro. So that is not the problem. The problem is the linux distro says the is no such file and cannot run.

In ubuntu, I Can't install X-Plane 10.
I tried to open the installer that I found in the X-Plane.com website. But it happens nothing: the error message is: No such file or catalog. I want to try it fastest as possible.

Any difference between OpenGL 3.3 and 4.2 in X-plane ?
Is it ??? If it is, I will buy a new laptop.

Can version 10 runs the AMD Fusion very well ?
I thinking to buy a AMD Fusion laptop with HD Radeon 6620M... Is it well to run?I have a ASUS N73Jn, it has Intel i5 2.4 GHz, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA geForce GT 335M, 1600x900 resolution. Also, I have Gateway P-7811 FX, is it better than ASUS N73Jn?

Why require Dx11 when the code is done by Dx9c ?
Why ? I wont buy a new graphics card when the cody is actually done by Dx9c. I am already migrated to X-plane because it does not require state-of-the-art hardware but just OpenGL 4.2, multicore CPU, no more than 3GB RAM and runs faster in Linux. It does not help a lot with 64-bit and more than 4GB when the CPU and GPU is not so fast as it could be.For example, if the Microsoft Flight uses 8GB but it cannot draw more than what the VRAM has in the 3D. And it depends how the architecture is with the hardware. If the RAM is the biggest bottleneck, so the 64-bit does not help much. Because the 64-bit is 2^64, so it can store MUCH, MUCH bigger instructions. In a Flight Simulator,The OpenGL and OpenCL can be done:physics, clouds, special effects, buildings, AI traffic, environment mapping, shader, lights. All of those can be done in OpenGL and OpenCL.Other in CPU are: load the texture, in and output, webcamera, joystick, external items.

Now I think up an own opinion!
The Flight concept is a really good idea. Now I will write + and -+Much potential.Added walk-functionEasier to navigate in UI menuCollected all in one place, that it makes less compatibility problem.Easy to start up a AircraftVery, very easy to manage the aircraftMore detailed small VFR items to see that I can find the place through VFR-marks.Better CPU-usage.-Less keyboard keys to assigned with each of functionsNo SDK.It is for the dumb people who dont want a simulation but a toy-game.The big island is nothing to see...Where are the backward compatibilityWHY in HELL make a new code that cannot use add-on from FS2004 and X..The clouds do not have the wonderful effect when the sun go dawn and dusk.Autogen buildings got worse than FSX.FSX will evolve around 2-4 years further with much 3D graphics tricks and optimize, so it will look near as good as Flight in graphics. The physics in the airplane is so bad...The storage size for the Flight is so big that I do not see any point to have it.Must have LIVE, I dont like it.I want see how the Flight code is written. And, I am sure that Microsoft says it need DirectX 11 graphics card, but I wont believe, it can be done in DirectX 10...So.... I already ordered the X-PLane 10 after 2 hours of flying around the big island.

Has anybody noticed....that this program REALLY.....makes for...
I AM NOT IMPRESSED... For some hours ago, I decided to buy the X-Plane 10, it is the real simulator for the most people who want to have a game that is near the real world simulation, and the X-plane have a lot of opportunity, wait 1-2 1/2 years future, so I am SURE the X-Plane will show its potential! I noticed the walk function in Flight, but the frames is not so high that they can make detailed buildings with additional functions and where are the control with MANY keys to each of functions????The X-Plane code have been writted from the SCRATCH!§ Thats why it runs so smooth.

How do the limit in the FSX Mission move to further ?
Let me explain.I want that the aircraft change to a person who can walking, climbing, shoot, enter the buildings, find items, drive a car, see video in the logbook, make the air volumetric, raining on the roof, wet buildings, make the fire blazing, grass move as the pixel shader. Is it possible to script those with GPU programming language ? Else make my own DLL file with GPU programming ?

Traffic with bus and cars at the airport.
I want that the traffic with bus and car move outside the freeway traffic and stop at the departure and arrival parkings by the next side of terminal. And I want that the car/bus move slope and down by the gmax material as a platform. Is it possible ?
