Mike I think based on what you say there is definitely something funny going on with my climb rate! 800fpm seems way to low and 35 minutes to get to FL380 is way too slow. Andy S

I am currently flying the MD11F with a TOGW of around 182000 kgs but I am getting a low rate of climb of only about 800 fpm. Is this normal? It has take me around 30-35 minutes to get to cruise alt of FL380 on what is only a two hour flight.Andy S

The strange thing is I am getting very good FPS (sometimes over 100 even with PMDG 747) but stuttering so it's not to do with lack of system power/spec. I have read that post by Nick_N and have my settings as per his instructions. I have also deleted the FS9.cfg Neither of these have made any difference. I am beginning to agree with Hardell that it might be some fundamental issue with the GTX460 and the other parts of my system not working together. When I had my old ATI 4870 I got worse FSP (though not loads worse) but NO stuttering at all. Andy S

Are we just talking FSX here? I was referring to FS9. I am running on W7 64bit and Nvidia Inspector. @ Axel - My issue is that I am getting a lot of stuttering but with high FPS. For example when I am in outside view and pan the view around 360 degrees it doesn't do it smoothly, it skips and jumps and stutters/lags. Andy S

I get this stuttering too. Seems to be after upgrading to a GTX460 card as I didn't have it on my old ATI 4870. Alex I will try your Vsync off + unlimited FPS recommendation. If it cures the problem you will be my favourite forum user! :Party:Andy S

I hope someone can help because this is driving me insane. I have recently started having really bad lagging and stuttering in FS9. When I pan the view round in outside view it doesn't pan smoothly, it skips and jumps as the scenery seems to lag. This is strange because at the same time I am getting good FPS. I have the locked at 50 and am getting 50 pretty much all the time. I have recently changed two things on my system before I noticed the stuttering starting to effect FS9. I got a new Asus GTX460 card and I got the iFly 737. I can't pinpoint when the lagging issue started but I didn't have it before. Then my old ATI 4870 broke and I was without FS for about 3 months. I then got the GTX460 and sometime since then it has started.Please help!Andy Solaini

I am getting good FPS in FS9 but am experiencing quite bad stuttering in both the graphics and sounds. Anything I can do to try and fix it? Not sure if it's liked but I have just installed REX. Andy Solaini

I am still thinking about getting ASE as an upgrade from ASv6.5 but have a few questions about how it works with other addons.1) Will ASE work with FS Build to get the winds aloft data? This is a big deal as I use FS Build quite a bit as a fuel planner.2) Will ASE work with Ground Environment? I use the weather from ASv6.5 to get GE to use the correct ground textures.3) I have heard some people having issues with ASA and Radar Contact. Are there any issues with ASE adn RCv4?4) When using ASv6.5 I get jumps in weather quite a bit, ie when on approach all looks clear then when I get lower it all clouds over all of a sudden. Does ASE make the weather more "stable" if that's the right word.Andy Solaini

I am getting really slow responses to number key presses when using RCv4. For example when I miss a waypoint and have to request direct to next checkpoint I press the "next" button to get to the page for requesting direct to waypoint. On pressing the "next" button it takes so long for RCv4 to respond and move on to the next page that I have the ATC yelling at me again. It can take between about 5-10 seconds to move the page on. This happens on other pages too.I have been having this issue for ages but have only just got round to trying to sort it out.I am running Active Sky v6.5 I think it's only the newer version of AS that can cause problems with RCv4.Andy Solaini

I am trying to get the wingtip vortext effect from FSX to work in FS9. I have found the files and it works but I can't quite get it to line up with the wingtip.This is the basic set up for the POSKY A330 but it doesn't quite fit the CLS A333.A330 (Project Opensky)[smokesystem]smoke.0=0, -49.2, -97.6, vortex6smoke.1=0, -49.2, 97.6, vortex6Anyone know which of the values I need to change to LOWER the placement of the effect as it it just above the wingtip with the above values? I feared that might be the case.

I have been running all my PMDG planes just fine on FS9. I installed FSX, got bad FPS then uninstalled it. Now when I run FS9 again ALL of my PMDG planes have an immediate CTD the moment I select any of them from the menu inside FS9. What the hell is causing this? Do I need to do a full reinstall of each one? I really hope not as it take ages with all the service packs.

I'm currently running ASv6.5 and FS9. I am thinking of upgrading to FSX and want a new weather engine and cloud graphics.Some questions - 1) Can ASE be installed for BOTH FS9 and FSX at the SAME time? 2) Can Flight Environment for FS9 be used with ASE?

I am getting a new graphics card on Friday and I want to know how to change them over. I know how to do the plugging in and all that, it's the software stuff I'm not sure about. My old card is ATI and the new one Nvidia. Do I just uninstall the ATI CCC software, take out the card, pop the new one in and install the new software?

I have just been looking at the GTS450. It's nearly £100 cheaper than the GTX460. Like Stephen says if the CPU is not quite up to full-on FSX then maybe the GTX460 is overkill and the GTS450 would be better. I am on a tight budget and I don't really want to throw away an extra £100 to get very little improvement between the two.

I like the look of the GTX 460. How much would I notice the difference in performance over what I currently have if I just replaced the graphics card with the GTX 460?
