I am having serious issues with my current graphics card (XFX ATI 4870 512mb). It produces lines of tiny red and black dots all over the screen and ATI support say it is most likely that is it about to die. I need to send it back for a warranty repair but I really cannot be without my computer for the 28 days the return would take. One potion I have come up with is to get a new graphics card now, send the only one for repair then sell it on when I get it back. I am thinking about what I would need to make the jump to FSX and still get good FPS. What I have at the moment.Core 2 Duo E7500 @2.93GHz4GB DDR PC2-6400 RAM 750W PSUXFX ATI 4870 512mb graphics card (this is the dodgy one that I am sending back)ASUS P5KPL-AM MotherboardWhat would I need to upgrade to get ok performance in FSX? Would just a newer graphics card do me? My budget would be around £100-200. Fired up FS9 for the first time in weeks and noticed that the graphics are looking a bit dodgy. There are all these tiny blocks of colour all over the screen that move at random, kind of like snow. The rest of the display is fine and my computer works fine on ever other program I ues. The graphics in FS9 were fine when I last used it any I have latered nothing since then.Here is a screenshot.The arrows are pointing to some of the blocks of colour that apprear to be out of place but there are lots more than just those with arrows. It looks like the blocks are the same colour as other bits of the display and are out of place. :( ie some are like the same colour as the sky and some are the colour of the grass.Update - I just installed the latest drivers and if anything it's worse.Any ideas what's causing this?

I've tracked down and sorted it. FSUIPC was somehow changed to an older version without me knowing.Is there a way of setting FSUIPC to never be changed?Andy S

I tried turning on and off the FMC keyboard function and still it doesn't work. If I reinstall the 737 will I have to reinstall the 747 as well?Andy S

Greg can you use any of the other keys or is it just the Shift+P that's not working for you?If you try the FMC thing can you report back.

No. I have never used this feature.When I just checked again now I start FS9 and load the default Cessna. The keyboard works fine. I then pressed alt to get the menu and switched straight to the PMDG 737 and the keyboard wasn't working again. So it's not a case of it not loading or something as it works fine in the same session before switching to the 737. Andy S

I have had the 737 working fine and it had no problems on my last flight. I have not changed the installation at all since then but now the keyboard commands don't work. I mean things like pressing S to chance the view or alt to display the menu bar. No of them do anything. All the joystick and panel mouse clickspots/switches work fine. The keyboard commands work fine in my other add-ons, it's just the 737 that isn't working.Any idea what could be causing this?Andy S

All worked ok until I got into the air and engaged the AP. VNAV worked as it should but LNAV wouldn't. It appeared from the PFD that it was engaged ok but when I came to the first turn in the SID the 777 just kept going straight on. :angry2: Disconnecting and reconnecting the AP didn't do anything. I am not sure what version of the 777 I have installed as updating is a problem now PSS are gone. Does anyone know of the LNAZ been an issue in the past?Andy S

Do I have to enter the V1, VR, V2 values on the receiving flow page before I start that flow? Is it ok to set up the FMC before setting the Receiving Flow going as otherwise how would I know what to put into the V-speeds without having had the FMC work them out first?Andy S

I can't work out how to change the voice set from US to UK on the PMDG 737 in FS9. How do I do it?Thanks,

Anyone know how to turn off Walk and Follow in FS9? I don't see any option in the DBS menu inside FS9. Is it even possible to turn it off and on?Andy S

I just did a full reinstall of 744, 744F and the update patch. That seems to have done the trick. I didn't actually fly anwhere but I got all the screens working ok on the ground. Thanks for your helps guys. :)Andy S

I'll try a full reinstall first then I'll contact support if it doesn't work. Andy S

I just did a repair and it had some effect. Now when I tried it the screens came on for about 30 seconds max then went off and stayed off. If I do a full reinstall will I have to reinstall the MD11 as well?Andy S

I have moved over to a new computer now running Windows 7 64-bit and I really cannot get the 747 to work in FS9. When I follow the tutorial and start off with a C&D panel state I just cannot get any of the PFD,ND,EICAS screens to show anything at all, they are just blank. They work when the 747 is not started from a C&D state and I also had it working fine in all panel states on my old computer. Also my copy is totally legit and password/keys etc can be provided if necessary. Any ideas what's up? Maybe it's a Windows 7 thing?Andy S

I know you don't support W7. I bought the ERJ when I had my old computer that was on XP. I was only trying a reinstall on W7 to see if it would work. I just thought the odd "sorry we don't support W7" or something similar would have made for a better tone in the reply, not the rather blunt ones given. Oh well....ERJ will be uninstalled and I, and others I guess, will just have to leave it at that. :( Andy S

Scobie I have a native install of W7, NOT an updgrade. I have read other threads on this and similar topics in various forums with regard to Wilco/feelthere products and the responses mostly have the feeling of the developers being quite hostile towards people asking such questions. A couple of examples from just this thread: Not quite friendly customer service. I have read that line over and over in other threads. The fact that most others and not having problems is of little use as I/we ARE having problems. Andy S

I just reinstalled the Wilco E-jets add-on on my new computer and went for a spin. The FPS was really bad, much worse than on any other add-ons I have. My computer is new and pretty powerful....I get 50-70 FPS in PMDG 737/MD11 etc with full clouds, AI etc etc at Heaathrow Extreme. I was in the E190 at Manchester DEFAULT scenery and got only 7-20 FPS in the E190! :( Is this a known problem with the E-Jets and is there a fix for it? What are other people getting for FPS? I will say I am running it on Windows 7 64-bit. I know the Digital Aviation Fokker had a low FPS bug with Windows 7, could this be something similar? It has to be some error as it's so much lower FPS than the PMDG/LDS add-ons I have and also I have read most people are getting very good FPS in the ERJ even with two year old computer. Andy S

Ok I tried it with the winds on the descent forcast page and it was better but still go overspeed disconnects, just not as many. The FMS only allows I think 4 different altitudes for winds on the descent forcast page. What winds do I put in as Active Sky gives them from cruize alt right down to 3000'?Andy S

I keep having a problem with FS9 getting stuck on the W7 taskbar then not reopening. When I minimize out of FS9 to check other programs FS9 is on the taskbar. I then click on it again to open it and nothing happens. It won't open at all, it's just stuck there. Needless to say this is VERY annoying when it happens mid flight as there is no way to recover the situation other than closing FS9 in the task manager menu of W7. When right clicking the icon on the taskbar it says "FS is still running close current session" or something like that. Can someone please please help before I get so annoyed that I quite FS for good!?Many thanks,Andy S
