I'm still waiting for the FD 5 patch that Abucus support stated in an email on 7/18/2008 was nearly ready. I for one will never give them another penny. There are way too many quality develpers to support :( Brad
  2. I've had the same problem with Vista x64 as well. I have installed the x64 C++ redist package with no luck. I was hoping the lastes MD-11 update would correct the problem but it didn't. The odd thing is that at least on my system if you cycle through the 2D panels in an exterior view, they work fine, in the VC they're either black or fail to update. I'm begining to suspect it is some combination of SW installed on the machine as I also have Visual Studio 2008 and SQL server 2008 Dev installed, but I'm not in a position to tear my machine apart to test this theroy.Brad Raulston

Well I guess my experience has been different. First Windows 7 doesn't "write protect" the files, but you must have administrative privileges, aka UAC. So if you run the installer as an admin both the MD-11 and FSX will install and activate just fine. And as has been previously stated this is a beta one version, so there will be fit and functionality issues. This beta is far more stable and reliable than the vista beta one or longhorn beta one ever where. In addition is has a much smaller footprint memory wise, 64 bit Vista Ultimate on my quad with 4 GB ram is using 1.3 GB, Windows 7 same machine and software config is using around 400 MB ram. Again it is a beta and your experience may differ, but I'd suggest you learn Vista or a the very least read up on UAC before you pass judgment. No offense intended.Brad Raulston
  4. Is there an ETA on the update for the FSX version? It appears that those who purchased the bundle have the update, the rest of are still waiting. I for one still have issues with gauges on the 2D panel that I hope are addressed.ThanksBrad

Yes, I've gotten several responses. Unforunately I'm still having the issue. Tried 4 uninstall -reinstalls, UAC, folder permissions and run as admin. No luck. Funny thing is all other addons run fine including the 747X.Brad

4 Uninstalls and reinstalls and sitll no 2D panel instruments, nothings moved from it's default location and validation succeeded. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? I am quickly loosing patients with this absurd activation, if it validates it should install and work.Brad

I sent a follow up message to support, maybe I'll get this issue sorted out. Brad

I'm having the same issue, fired off an email to support and was told to make sure I have SP2 installed, which it is, then static..........Brad
  9. Yes IE 7 is included, WSUS will soon be installing it regardless, and if you're still on IE6, IE7 is better IMHO.Brad
  10. I've been running the RC of SP3 for a while now. If anything I'd say I've noticed an increase in performance. I've also not had any CTD's or other issues. By far the most stable SP release candidate I've seen. I suspect that if it was really unstable, MS wouldn't have made it available to the masses.Brad
  11. It turns out not to be AS. Initially all was fine, but after a few hours the issue re-appeared. So at this point I have uninstalled FS and reinstalled. So far the following setup has no problems:FS 9.1AS 6 SU3UTUSA 2.1PDMG 737NGPDMG 737 800/900PMDG 747 V1.1PMDG 747 400FThere were several other addons installed, that have yet to be reinstalledUltimate trafficLVLD 767** HB, 190, 219, P-47so the answers probably in one of those items.Brad
  12. All,I started experiencing strange issues with the 747. When I engaged auto pilot, the aircraft would roll onto it's back and head toward the ground. Sometimes it would porpose during flight, anywhere between +900ft and -800ft from the indicated altitude. At first I thought that maybe I had just had a bad install, so I re-installed. Still no joy. By chance this evening I ran fs without starting AS and lo and behold, everything worked like a charm. To verify this I started AS and the issue reappeared. Has anyone else experineced any issues with AS6 and the 747?Brad
