Solutions

Oh Oliver and Neil:  I guess I am getting old.  Neil, I got it.  Thanks to all of you and your patience.  What would we do without friends such as in this Forum.  John

I know that this topic is resolved, but I have to add a secondary solution:  I recently added FS2Crew to my add-ons through Aerosofts' A320/A321 (the latter not really required) which has its own door closing routine.  John
  3. mbscjohnp's post in Saving Flight (.rcd file) was marked as the answer
Ron's Quote:  :...be sure the (sic) flt-wxr path is set correctly in RC.  In this explorer type path setting , do not cancel or OK it without selecting the path each time, even if it the same."  Leave it to Ron to have the answers <smile>  Geeesh and JD in his post says that Doug can fix everything!

Ron:  Before I got to read your post, I received an email from JD suggesting that I look at the .FLT/WX Path setting, which I did.  I don't know how this non-saving of ".rcd" files started, but in my attempt to fix the problem, I did a reinstall of RC and, of course, forgot to check the .FLT/WX Path setting.

However, before I re-clicked on the button, I check and it was listing the correct location of where to save the ".rcd file":  "My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files".  Just to be sure, however, I clicked on the button and directed it to that location again, not having seen your post Ron.  Lesson learned:  Next time, even if it is the same do it again!

I started the flight with the last ".rcd" saved file and flew for a couple of minutes and saved.  Lo and Behold, as the saying goes, it saved the ".rcd" file in the correct location.  I continued the flight to the "Initial Descend Request" location and it saved that ".rcd" file and the remaining saves before landing.  Now I can skip the intervening boring 2 hours from "On Course, at Altitude" to "Initial Approach Clearance."  You all are awesome!  John
