Ron: Gotcha! After reading your post, I checked the FSX runways file and noted that DreamTeam and FlightBeam had entries. I had prior FSX registered ADE corrected and compiled airports that I had unregistered when DreamTeam and FlightBeam registered theirs. I had to create new flight plans regarding their airports to select parking spots currently in use for my flight plans and, with ADE and compiling, to designate as reserved those parking spots for my A320, so that they would remain vacant of AI. In all of that mix, something went wrong. After saving a copy of the current RC f4.csv to my laptop desktop, I check AirNav rearding my in-use airports for current in-use coms. In Jon's ADE, I brought each current com to priority, moving a non-used com currently in priority to underneath the corrected priority. I compiled each airport. I opened RC's current f4.csv in Notepad and (carefully - without adding/deleting any spaces between commas) corrected any listed currently not-in-use coms and selected Saved As "all files" and pointed to and selected the current RC f4.csv and saved. RC now reflects all currently in-use coms for these airports on selecting their saved flight plan. I re-saved each flight plan to obtain a new rcd and rc4 file, My A320's show up in their designated parking spots and RC works just fine. Thanks again for all you folks do. John

Ron: OK, I had originally copied my desktop's RC f4.csv file and pasted it into my laptop's RC data folder and everything worked again, but I noted errors in the coms for KSFO. So I copied the laptop's FSX f4.csv file into my laptop's RC data folder. It works fine, but I am now getting the wrong com for CLDL at KSFO published as 118.20, but showing up as 118.05, I opened the f4.csv file in both RC and FSX and note that they both list the incorrect 118.05. Soooo, I with ADE, I checked that both the ade file and the bgl file for KSFO listed the only com for CLDL as the correct 118.20, with no mention of any 118.05. I checked the runways.txt file in FSX for KSFO and found the correct 118.20. So I ran makerunways again, with no change in the FSX f4.csv file. RC is running fine now with the copied FSX f4.csv file containing the incorrect 118.05 com and I have no clue as to how to correct the CLDL frequency in either the FSX or RC f4.csv file which open with my Excel, and I understand that csv files are a different kind of animal, so I have not attempted to make any changes. I still don't know from where RC gets its f4.cvs data, so that I can find out how to inform RC of the correct com. John

Ron: Somehow the data files in RC got screwed up. I copied the f4, etc files out of my desktop rc4x data folder and pasted them into the rc4x data folder on the laptop. Everything works fine again without a reinstall. I wonder if running the runways caused the error? John

Ron: I got tired of messing with it and reinstalled with a new key. I followed all the processes. Everything worked fine using the Load Previous rcd's button. I created a new flight plan in FSX, parked an aircraft at the airport, started RC and attempted to load the new flight plan and got a runtime 62 error: Get Departure Information. Where is RC looking for departure info? I get the same error if I attempt to load any prior flight plan (that opens with the "previous rcd's button") and get the runtime 62 error and RC closes. I ran another Make Runways in FSX and ran Rebuild DB Scenery in RC with no joy. I copied out the new installed rcv3.dat and keyboard.dat onto my desktop, of course leaving the originals in rcv4x. Since runtime 62 requires a reinstall, how to reinstall without a new key again?

New install on replaced HD. Read Ron's reply to earlier post and re-downloaded and installed both Make Runways and FSUIPC and re-registered the latter. Parked my aircraft and selected RC and selected a prior flight and configured it in the RC screen and started RC. RC's ATC window opened and I clicked "Requested" my clearance. Nothing happens, for probable reason that there is no connection to Controller voices, due to Runtime Error 75 "Radar Contact.rcv4Module.Pilot_ack" when attempted to select of change Pilot, Co-Pilot, Controller voices. Then attempting to run Rebuild Scenery Database, it caused a Runtime Error 75 after copying the location of FSX from the Windows Explorer window and pasting it in the RC window for location of FSX (I even typed it in). I am running RC as an administrator and rcv4.exe is an "exception" file in AVG. What did I mess up? I have keyboard.dat and rcv3.dat in a folder on my desktop. John

Bryan: Thanks for your reply. I've heard my movies several times and my meals more often. I know about crew dynamics and familiarity, but I have never heard even a CFA refer to any crew member in the cockpit as "Hey Guys," maybe "Hey Cap'n", or even "Hey Cap'n John." A good suth'n Flight Officer refers to female FA's as "Ma'am, or her perhaps "Miss Jones" and surely never as "Hey Girls." I guess I am getting too old! The caviar comment is OK though. Love the program though! John

Ron: Regarding the above, just prior to EPIC received RC ATC "Pilot Discretion descend to 11,000", set 11,000, but held close to 12,000 until crossing the hills. Requested and received a full IAP to RWY 25L and descent to 3,500 to intercept HEMAN, after crossing MENLO at 4,000 according to STAR. On landing, no Alt Restriction problems and "Excellent". Got it solved. Having the A320's descent planning arrows in the Nav Display sure helps in setting rate of descent to waypoints. Thanks again. John

Ron: I got you loud and clear. I had just set NOTAMS on a trial run, prior to seeing your reply. It seems that about 35 nm out at FIM at 12,000 worked and that is where UAL 525 was 3 days ago. I haven't tried the full KSFO approach yet with today's UAL 444, but received descent to FL270 24 nm prior to start of STAR SERFR1 when supper called. In the FMC, I set NRRLI to FL200, WWAVS to 15,000 and EPICK to 12,000, which should be the crossing restriction about 43 nm out. I got these settings from the STAR info. I'll be able to adjust these as RC's ATC instructs. I'll check it out after breakfast. John

Ron: Thanks for the reply, but prior to it I did set NOTAMS for KLAX. As FSX's Flight Planner has no altitude info and I have no actual chart for KLAX, other than the ILS and STAR info, I also d/l'ed and installed Plan-G as you suggested above and ringed KLAX with 10 nm rings. From Plan-G, I noted the MEA's and set the A320's CDU FMC to reach FIM (about 35nm out - REYES is about 50 nm out) at FL120 @ 250K and from Plan-G set SADDE at 7,000, BAYST at 6,000, SMO at 5,000 and JAVSI at 4,000 (using the 30 nm rings and the route descent arrival arrows of the A320's Nav Display and the related V/S) which then conformed to RC's ATC descent instruction. Requested and received a full IAP to RWY 25R and descent to 3,200 to intercept FALLT and SHELL for the ILS. No Alt Restriction problem. For the return route I ringed KSFO combined with Plan-G for the MEA's and set the CDU FMC accordingly. These altitudes follow closely the actual UAL 525 position report as checked on FlightAware. Ron: I have viewed this post and am experiencing the following: On a sim of an actual A320 UAL 525 KSFO-KLAX flight with SID SSTIK1 and STAR SADDE6, just prior to DERBB, I receive several RC ATC descent instructions and follow each to include the last of them: "Pilot's Discretion D&M 12000 and need you level within 30 miles or less", having set the descent rate to arrive at FIM (30 miles) level. I checked the UAL 525'S actual latest descent by location and matched them to RC's instruction, which is not too far off. After landing, I receive the critique of having busted the altitude restriction. Is this a similar NOTAMS feature mentioned in el-kab0ng's post? John

Neil: Absolutely. I even repainted the Aerosoft A320-232 AIE with my actual tail number N404UA and its fleet number 7404. The actual aircraft still had the F-WWII placard in the cockpit that I requested be replaced, This 21 year old bus is still flying. I did record the Aerosoft male "Pilot Not Flying" waves just for fun and it works also, but now use the Fs2Crew proggy, because my recorded voice as PnF just answers my PF. Since the Aerosoft A320 displays a female second officer (replacing with a male is a chore), I probably should have left it all as it was. <grin> John

Dave, thanks anyhow for your reply, which is really appreciated, but I am not attempting to map the 1/2 key, but instead amend the Radar Contact .dat file to map the CRTL minus key to display Page Left. RC uses a code number for the minus key and I have to find that number. I will. however, check out SharpKeys to see if that helps. Thanks again. John

From your question containing the words: "just using", is there another method that I am missing or did not set up correctly, as the manuals are quite extensive and I have followed them the best that I could? Please recall that I am a pilot and normally just follow manuals and push buttons and give orders and pilot aircraft and drink coffee. <smile> John

Wow! Now I am really confused. Apparently from what you both are saying is that I really did not purchase, install, and activate a "real" FS2Crew add-on, because the wav files that I am "adding to" are actually now a part of Aerosoft's wav files. Apparently what I purchased from FS2Crew was nothing more than an add-on for Aerosoft's A320/A321? What I have recorded and added to the "user" PnF wav's is currently working in Aerosoft's A320/A321. So if I would purchase a "real" FS2Crew add-on, would it supersede what I have now installed? AND does it have a male US Second Officer wav? AND which add-on is it? Or am I just getting too old to understand this process. John

Bryan: I purchased from FS2Crew SKU:2C-AAXB, FS2Crew: Airbus X Button Control at $28.28USD and there is an American flight crew included, but the Second Officer has a female voice and I would like to have a male Second Officer completing the checklists with me. From the link you provided, it appears that I have the same item to which you refer. Neil's earlier reply confused me as I believe he made reference that Aerosoft's Airbus A320/A321 checklist wav files were not the same as those of FS2Crew and I thought that perhaps I have the wrong item installed, but apparently not, unless I do not have a US PnF wav file with a male voice, if such exists. Unless you know something different and as there appears to be no such US male PnF wav file available, so I am in the process of creating one with Creative Media Source Wave Studio 7. My only concern is the 32bit Stereo PCM files that exist in FS2Crew and I can only create 16bit stereo wav files with my program, A test run seems to sound OK, but I am only half way through the PnF file up to this evening, using my voice, Like I posted above, I have no problem with a female Second Officer and I simply wish to recreate my previous cockpit experience with my prior male Second Officer. If he were still among us, I would ask him to record the wav file. John

Neil: Now I am confused. I also prefer the FS2Crew program and I downloaded the FS2Crew Button Control program for the Airbus, but there is no US or Standard PnF male wave file, as they are female. The British and French PnF waves are indeed male and I have absolutely nothing against flying with a British, French, or even Aussie Second Officer, but I would really like to have my old American Second Officer by my side. Are we talking about the same FS2Crew program, or did I download the wrong one? John

Neil, Thanks for the speedy reply. I have tried the Configurator's Other Settings tab and all of the PNF wave files are female. Since FS2Crew is a separate addon, before I go through the trouble of creating a male "US" PNF wave file, do you know if FS2Crew has one already that I can purchase? I guess that I did not search for these wave file well enough and have, from your reply, found their location. I can now proceed. I should have posted in this my normal question area first, instead of Aerosoft's forum. At least here, everyone is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thanks again. I know that this topic is resolved, but I have to add a secondary solution: I recently added FS2Crew to my add-ons through Aerosofts' A320/A321 (the latter not really required) which has its own door closing routine. John

Ian, Thanks for the input, although an acceptable solution, that requires an extra key press. I tried changing the 701 entry in the dat file and found the comma, as stated. Using the 700 code, the screen displays "C," (CTRL comma), which then opens "Page Left". I just wish someone would know the significance of these numbers in the dat file. I guess that I could just continue the process of changing this number in the dat file until I find the minus sign. It is just a pain to have to restart FSX each time to see the result. Using the minus and equals keys for left and right pages makes it simple as they are arranged "left and right" next to each other and have no affect on FSX or any other addon. It is strange that the remaining screens (like emergency) are not affected by my changes of the original numbers. Thanks again. I will post if I can find it. John

I purchased Aerorsoft's A320/A321 which contains FS2Crew's "Pilot Flying" and "Pilot Non-Flying" wave files, although I am unable to locate these files in the program itself. I am a retired A320 Captain and have no problem regarding female First Officers and Second Officers in the cockpit of an A320, but I would like to fly my original route KLAX to KSFO with a male Second Officer. I requested information from Moderator Hagan at Aerosoft regarding the Configurator's added selection opportunity of "user" wave file additions, to permit me to self-created a male wave file, using the command listings posted in the manual. His terse reply was that only one wave file for Second Officer was female, the rest male. He is mistaken in his assumption and did not provide the information that I requested of him. I replied to him that his reply contained incorrect information and from the inclusion of the "user" selection in the configurator, the programmer(s) apparently intended to provide for a "user" wave file. Please advise the location of these wave files in the program, as I have been unable to locate them, and the permissible size of the wave file to permit me to add such a file. As a side note, From the tone of the German voiced Second Officer in the program, I certainly would not care to have her in the cockpit with me for fear that she would bite my head off, or take command herself. <smile> John Parkinson

I have the need to reassign keyboard keys 1 and 2 for use in Aerosoft's A329/A321 Checklist selections. Therefore, I reassigned Selection 1 to Key 6 (which lists in the RC Keyboard.dat file as 54), Selection 2 to Key 7 (lists 55) etcetera through Selection 5 to Key 0 (lists as 48). I reassigned Menu Page Right to "CTRL" plus "=" (lists as 699) and Menu Page Left to "CTRL" plus "-" (lists as 701) and saved and restarted FSX as required. Running RC, I noted that "CTRL =" is displayed as Menu Page Right and creates a Page Right, but "CTRL 1/2" is displayed for Menu Page Left and there is no "1/2" key on my QUERTY keyboard and the "CTRL plus -" press does not create a Menu Page Left. Going back into RC Keyboard reassign page, the "1/2" is listed. Changing it to "-" again and saving and restarting FSX results in the same condition and looking in the Keyboard reassign page again shows the "1/2" still listed. Apparently in the RC Keyboard.dat file "701" equals a "1/2" key and not a "-" key. I have tried other dat file numbers around 701, like 700 is a comma. Does anyone know the correct code (other than 701) that I can insert in the Keyboard.dat file, so that RC displays "CTRL -" as a Menu Page Left selection, or knows what these code numbers stem from?
