Exit Opening and RC

Featured Replies

Expert RC Tutor Ron:  First of all Happy Holidays!

Everyone is apparently limited to FSX exit numbering script.  I have already "corrected" Shift+E+number to x+number and I use  the lonely "x" to open the main exit, as this does not activate any command in RC;  However, the minute that I open a cargo door with "x+2" while RC is active, immediately I have to be ready to copy my clearance, as the number 2 activates the request for my clearance.  Thereafter, closing the cargo door also immediately activates my request for pushback.  The latter does not present any pressing problem, but the cargo door opening does.

I set up my routine flight using the saved FSX flt and while it is activating, I use the saved rc4 to activate RC.  My aircraft is parked at the gate and RC is displayed.  I open the overhead display and start the battery and the APU and set the passenger signs, then open the main exit and attach the jetway without problem, other than sometimes RC and FSX start the weather briefing, which is no biggie.

Using GSX, I request the fuel truck (GSX #3) and boarding (GSX#4).  I open the front and rear catering exits (x+4) with no activity from RC. Now enters the problem:  I open the cargo doors with x+2 and I am also requesting my clearance as RC has recognized my #2 click and so on...

[exits]   A-321

number of exits=4

exit.0      //Main Passenger (x or x+1)

exit.1      //Right Front & Rear Cargo (x+2)

exit.2      //Left Rear Passenger (x+3)

exit.3     //Right Front (mirror of Main) & Right Rear (mirror of Left Rear) Catering (x+4)

There is no 3 designation in FSX as far as I know

I have tried performing pre-flight with FSX only and saving that flt and using it to activate FSX and then RC, but that does not seem to work either.

My question to you:  Is there any method that you know of to either changing the FSX exit numbering script, or the RC number activation sequence.  John

Use the keyboard assignments in RC to get unique assignments to RC only. Do not set these while having an FSX flight loaded. These are not sequential keystrokes but simultaneous keytrokes. Try just CTRL-RC menu character.

Normally in add-ons keystrokes used by them are not passed on. It is hard to tell which app/add-on gets the keystrokes first.

In FSX (and FS9) the timing between sequential keystrokes is critical. If you upgrade fsuipc4 you can assign hot keys and controller buttons to issue sequential keystroke commands (keyboard macros) which might make things easier (in addition to the full extensive fsuipc4 feature set).

Have a look at the fsuipc4 users guide and advanced manual to see what I am talking about. They are in your modules folder.

Be sure your fsuipc4 is current from:

Leave it to Ron to have the answer.  <smile>  Thanks again.  I was able to assign number 5 in exchange for 1 and 6 for 2.  I open the Main door with 5 and the Cargo doors with 6 and RC doesn't even "wiggle", because keys 1 and 2 do not even display in the RC selection, except for higher and lower altitude requests.  Since GSX uses mouse clickable selections, their numbers 1 and 2 do not concern RC or FSX.  Going to checkout your fsuipc suggestion also.   Thanks ever so much for taking the time to assist.   John

I know that this topic is resolved, but I have to add a secondary solution:  I recently added FS2Crew to my add-ons through Aerosofts' A320/A321 (the latter not really required) which has its own door closing routine.  John
