What triggers either the movie or meal cabin announcement?

 

For Movies, altitude must be greater than 19000 feet and the Distance to the Top of Descent (TOD) as indicated in the MCDU must be greater than 600 miles.

 

For Meals, altitude must be greater than 29,000 feet, Distance to the TOD must be greater than 600 miles, and vertical speed must be 0.

 

 

And make sure the "CAB" volume knob on the FS2Crew main panel is up.

Bryan:  Thanks for your reply.  I've heard my movies several times and my meals more often.  I know about crew dynamics and familiarity, but I have never heard even a CFA refer to any crew member in the cockpit as "Hey Guys," maybe "Hey Cap'n", or even "Hey Cap'n John."   A good suth'n Flight Officer refers to female FA's as "Ma'am, or her perhaps "Miss Jones" and surely never as "Hey Girls."  I guess I am getting too old!  The caviar comment is OK though.
