  1. Is anyone using trackir 5 with success on FSX; if someone does have the unit working could you pass on your settings? It sounded like a great idea for flying the Citation Mustang in VC but so far it has been a big time waster.I have spent quite a lot of time trying to install, uninstall and than reinstall the unit.I have followed every cue in the software manual, all with no success.I have been on the trackir forums and received some suggestions mostly from war games users and road racers. The moderator is cheerful but has no answers. The view is impossible; the slightest head movement causes the view to flash side to side, even to back in the cabin. It is impossible to slow down the oscillations or center the view regardless of what combination of settings that I try. If someone does have the unit working could you pass on your settings? I am close to dumping it on eBay as a bad idea.
  2. I made this comment on another comment on this forum. I followed the setup, everything seemed to work. However I cannot get more than just the slightest head movement on screen. I tried support but no answer, maybe they are away for the week? I went on their forum and received one reply “I am having the same problem”. I have tried a lot of solutions, nothing seems to help.
  3. Trackir 5: I followed the setup, everything seemed to work. However I cannot get more than just the slightest head movement on screen. I tried support but no answer, maybe they are away for the week? I went on their trackir forum and received one reply “I am having the same problem”. I searched for other help on other forums and did find one suggestion that required quite an extensive changing of the registry. I don’t think that is a good idea. So, back in the box with the trackir, maybe I will try again later, what a waste of time.
  4. Looks good but way over priced, in my humble opinion.Looking at the pictures it uses a very simple frame and cushion, why such a high price?
  5. Thanks for the suggestions.I did download the tutorial for the startup of the J41. I wonder why they thought a difficult start up of the mechanicals was so important. Most simmers I am friends with are pilots who use their sim to explore new airports and flights. We usually set up the flight and start at the end of the active runway. However, the j41 can’t be any more of a learning curve than my first jump into Falcon 4 the Korean Campaign, so I may give it a try.The Cessna Mustang was my first choice but I notice that Flight 1 blocks non registered buyers from viewing the Mustang forums. Maybe there are some major problems that Flight 1 is keeping under wraps.
  6. The 3 fields I use all train in cessnas, one field uses the 172 4 seater, a slightly larger engine and weight is not a lot of difference.Ditto, once you have your license you can fly other planes with a small learning curve.
  7. I have the Pilatus in FSX which I enjoy and I would like to add another plane.Win95 to FS9 I have had addons including Cessnas, Meridian, Bonanza & Baron from Dreamfleet and the PMDG 737NG and 1900D.I prefer short VFR 1-3 hour trips. Never did like flying in white-outs.Looking at the PMDG BAe Jetstream 4100 or the Flight1 Citation Mustang. Not both.Any suggestions?
  8. I checked your route and it appears that you flew over my house. Thanks for keeping it in the air; I remember my early flights when I realized there was no reset button. Another good flight from the beach is KRDG Reading. Good $100. cheeseburgers.
  9. Falcon 4.0 Allied Force - Very exciting flying in 2 theaters, the Balkins and Korea. F-16 Fighting Falcon.Cockpit graphics are very real and workable. Flies like a real F-16, best fighter sim ever. Many systems and weapon loads, be ready to read and study, steep learning curve. Not for the casual flyer or faint at heart but well worth the effort if you are willing to put in the time. When I need to take a breath I go back to my slow-go planes in MS Flight.A big improvement over the original 1998 sim which also had a big following of pilots.
