  1. Please oh please get it done! PIC 737 is one of my favourite planes. It was the first big iron I dared to fly and I'm been flying it regularly since. I don't have any complain about it, but an update of its VC would be great... even if some (reasonable amount of) bucks were asked for.
  2. As for conclusions and recommendations, you can find some of them in the report, if you're willing to take a look at a paper from a 3rd world country in Europe, according to your conception of the world. And don't worry, they don't ask Mr. Boeing to land all his planes.Vale.
  3. A thread that may be of some help, provided what you want is to get rid of the VC:http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?p=67272
  4. You're right: I'm an ignorant, but it's the CIAIAC, not me nor a journalist, who concludes in their interim report (page 62):
  5. Agree. It's a very nice craft, a pleasure to flight and a bargain (14 EUR for non-European customers, say abt US $20, or 16.95 EUR for Europeans). But since this fellow already has the ERJ-145 and has some performance problems with it, the Legacy won't add any new, apart from the visual aspect and a Wx radar I'm not sure of real value. BTW, not having auto-throttle is no issue and the bird really behaves well, provided you take care. Further, the real thing has no AT. I would go for the E-Jets series (if you are for RJ/airliners) or wait until Eaglesoft polishes its gorgeous Citation X v2.0 (if you prefer to fly not so large corporate jets).
  6. Well, agree. No design issues here. Let's simply say that in the MD-80s the CAWS/TOWS fails to alert the crew from time to time, probably because of unreliable electical components. BTW, there's a third incident similar to those mentioned: on June 5th, 2007 a Mapjet MD-83 took off with flaps & slats retracted from Lanzarote and the TOWS failed again. This time fortunately there were no casualties. No official report by the CIAIAC (the equivalent to the NTSB in Spain) yet. Maybe that's the reason it's not referred to in the Spanair flight 5022 interim report.
  7. Bad luck. Well, I know that's not the ideal solution, but you always can download the liveries you're interested in from Wilco's site. I know, this way the only real advantage of purchasing the DVD distribution instead of the download is lost, but it seems the only option you're given, AFAIK.
  8. Not sure about how is your distribution organized. Is it on a CD? If so, maybe there is a folder with a number of executable files, one for each version and liverie. At least that's the format you can download the liveries from the Wilco site, eg.: 737-300PIC_easyjet.exe - Easyjet livery for FS2004 737-300PIC_FSX_easyjet.exe - Easyjet livery for FSX

Every one has his/her share of flawed designs. The real question is to learn from the results of them, fatal or not, and try to get them fixed. As sad as it's the lost of any life, the worst thing about the Air France A330 accident is that probably we'll never know for sure its reason, and we can only speculate. So, if a basic defect is in the root of the accident, you know, most probably it will happen again. We can only hope there will be better luck next time and no one will get hurt.
  10. What are your system specs?I have both the Wilco ERJ-145 & Aeroworx King Air and get superb performance with them, and so with the rest of aircrafts you're considering. The Wilco Legacy is essentially an update of the ERJ-145 with some more bells and whistles -in fact, I guess in the real world they have a very high commonality-.The Wilco E-Jets is an excellent choice if you're interested in regional jets.About Citation X, IIRC there was a specific thread about the Wilco vs Eaglesoft question. The Wilco's have a functioning FMS, not so the Eaglesoft's, at least prior the release of its v2.0. BTW, my specs: WinXP SP3, Intel Core Duo E8400 @3.0GHz, 2GB DDR3 @1111MHz, nVidia 8800GT Overclocked
  11. Man, I missed this. I thought to make a summary of the report for the benefit of non-Spanish speaking fellows. But your post makes it unnecessary. :( Thank you,JAMM

  13. Very glad to learn you've solved your problem. Anyway it's possible you'll still have some another issue with this card. In my case, the ATC text seldom disappearead when I switched to another task and then back to FS9. I needed to restart the FS to get things right. Apart from this, the 9600Pro served me well, even having a rather moderate performance. And nVidia cards come with their handful of problems JAMM
  14. Not necessarily it's your case, but I had a similar issue with my previous box and it seemed to be related to the video card. In fact, I had an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro.Now, with a nVidia card, the problem has gone.JAMM
  15. I can't wait for the Airsimmer A320. I NEED IT NOW! And I'm not a Airbus bigot. I love anything that flies, even choppers. Lately I fly regularly the Wilco PIC 737 (really DO love it!) and the Wilco Airbus A320 family, and the PMDG Beech B1900C and the Wilco ERJ-145 & Legacy also. But we need a more complex and realistic Airbus. Have a lot of Boeing & MD superb simulations out there, but the Airbus crafts currently available can't compare to them.So please please don't let us down this time!JAMM
  16. Yes, it's part of the OS, though it's not unusual to have a number of copies of it under the FS9 folders tree. In any case, probably the used one is that in C:\windows\system32. To be sure, next time take note of the version number of the dll and compare it with the versions of the instances you have.I've been having crashes from time to time related to this module, have searched in the web and got no clue about the reason, even though there is a handful of fellows out there with similar problems.JAMM
  17. Wow, thanks a lot! Great site! Jes
  18. Thank you both, red1 and Hans. Have made what you've suggested and when the flight is reloaded everything is just as saved, even after restarting fs9.But whenever I create a new flight, the blessed thing starts with the rotor turning... My default flight pictures the good old default Cessna 172 peacefully parked in LEZL, with a cold and dark cockpit. All default, and most of the add-on, prop and jet aircrafts (except those configured otherwise) start the same, but, as red1 said, it seems to be an "undocumented feature" of the default rotorcrafts in fs9. Add-on copters, on the other hand, behave ok.My solution: add a new pre-flight checklist entry "Be sure all is off and just wait the rotor stops turning."More serious is another problem: in the middle of my last fligth LEJR/GECE, suddenly all the instruments of the default Bell 206 went off, except of the altimeter, speedometer and VS meter. Battery exhausted, I guessed. But for the life of mine I can't find the generator switch anywhere :(
  19. Hi,The problem is that, this evening, I've realized that whenever I start a new flight with a helicopter (I've seen it with both the default Bell and Robinson), the rotor is already rotating, in spite of being a cold-and-dark start. It only stops when fuel is cut off (Ctrl-Shift-F1). At first, I suspected this was related to the Flight 1 Heli Traffic 2009 add-on I've just installed, but uninstalling its module was of no use. Also, in FSX the problem doesn't happen.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not a critical problem, but rather annoying. Thanks in advance,******* A. Mora
  20. Think I've got it already but I'll check. Some months ago, I downloaded a package including a modified model of the L10E, but ran into some issue I cannot remember now. And as you say, it -or maybe another package- came with a rather complete documentation about AE's tour. You mean her "Last Flight", I guess. I have read it recently in a Spanish version. Sad it ends that way, but that's history. I'm not sure what aircraft to use (one from the '20s-'30s) nor whether I'll follow her route, though it can be a good starting point. Planning is part of the fun.
  21. Thank you every body for the info. Sad to know that the Electra in the addon is plagued with so many nasty bugs. Anyway may be I will give it a try soon. Touring around the world mostly VFR, preferably on a vintage plane, is a challenge in my to-do list.
  22. Just curious about this. I've just flown from LEMG (Malaga, Spain) to LFPO (Paris-Orly, France) in my 737-300 (nice storm at landing btw), and have noticed something I have realized about before: most airports in France, including international ones, have no PAPIs nor any kind of VASI at their runways. Is this a FS9 issue or it's so in the real world? What's the reason, in any case?TIA,JAMM
  23. Hi,Not sure this is the right place to post this, since this addon I have just heard of is for both FS9 and FSX. Rather intriguing to me, I can't find any review and/or comment about it, even though it was released almost a month ago. AFAIK it includes an aircraft model (a Lockheed L10E Electra, resembling that of Amelia Earhart in her last and fateful flight) and flight plans for a tour around around the world. But what else? No hints anywhere about this. If this is all includes, it hardly worths the ~30EUR/25GBP they ask for.JAMM
  24. Thank you both, Mike and Bill, for your quick and helpful answers.*******
  25. Hi,I've been using and enjoying UT (with the Summer '07 update) for more than a year, and recently purchased and installed UTX too. All this time I have had no significant issues or complaints with them, but now I'd like to try other AI packs, but, if possible, I'd prefer not to uninstall UT/UTX and easily switch back to them if needed.I am wondering whether renaming or moving some traffic .bgl file would suffice to get this done or anything else must be hacked.Any help would be welcome. TIA,JAMM
