Windows 7 & FS Passengers
Apparently nothing has changed from build 7077 :(

Windows 7 & FS Passengers
What other addons are you using? I'm on build 7077 as well and cant get it to work at all.

Chief, please list your complete specs including operating system and add-ons.

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
I just tried the "fix" and it really screwed things up. Still had some white issues in full screen mode, I could see some stuff, but mostly white and frames became worse than a slide show. Still worked fine in window mode though. I'm starting to get the hint that this will not work in Windows 7 at all.

Long loading times for FSX
What is the valid max value for LOD Radius? I thought it was 5.5 as per Nick's setup guide. :(

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
Well then I might have to go back to 182.06. The only reason I wanted to try the 181.77 was because they were specifically listed under Windows 7 drivers on nvidia's site. I don't notice anymore graphic anomalies with DX10 though with these drivers.

Hmmm what resolution are you running?

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
I'm running out of ideas. I got rid of the white screen but now the effect doesn't work at all. I hit shift F12 and nothing at all changes. Everything is fine in window mode. It's just full screen mode does not want to work with this tweak. What resolution are you guys running? I'm at 1920x1200

Ok now I need to ask those of you with no white screen problem, are you guys running motherboards that have nvidia chipsets?

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
I've completed more testing with the ini file. It seems for me that occlusions and or shadows gives the white screen. If I disable occlusions and shadows, then I get no white screen. I verified this by initiating the certain effect of shadows or occlusions with the respective hot keys F10 and F8. However, I get no affect at all when in full screen mode now! I know whether or not the effect has been activated because I can press F12 to activate everything and then then F8 or F10 for a guaranteed white screen. But still I can't get the effect at all in full screen. I thought it might have been something to do with nhancer so I tried changing around a bunch of settings one by one and it made no difference. The documentation on the website about anti aliasing didn't help either. Must be the drivers. What drivers are you guys using? I'm on 181.77. I might have to switch back to the XG drivers I was using before.

Yes I tried that and I tried installing with vista compatibility mode as well but neither worked. I had it working once when I was on build 7000. I can't figure out what it could be.

D'OH! So much for the white screen problem being limited to certain vid cards lol.

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
Hmmm maybe the white screen happens with certain vid cards. I'm running a 9800GTX and I get the white screen. Maybe I should pick up a GTX 280 since they are cheap. Can other people chime in on what vid cards they are using? Perhaps we can get to the bottom of this.

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
That didn't help me. I'm still getting a white screen in full screen mode at any resolution other than the lowest setting. To people having this problem, see what happens when you bring up the fps counter, you can see stuff but most everything is white.

Windows 7 & FS Passengers
Hmmm not a good choice if you ask me. The beta is out there so people can test it and work on patches for existing conflicting software. What other purpose does it serve? I can understand to an extent though. Still, this is the only program I'm having trouble running. Everything else works fine just as it did in Vista only better. That's a shame. I'm glad I downloaded the demo before I bought it.

Windows 7 & FS Passengers
Can you tell us what addons you're using as well as what version of FSUIPC? It must be a conflict of another addon because like Mark said, remove the fspassengers.dll file and flight sim loads fine. The FSPassengers developer really should look into this.

Windows 7 & FS Passengers
Update: I'm on build 7077 and it still doesn't work. Build 7077 is one of the last builds before the RC of Windows 7 and I highly doubt this is a Microsoft problem at this point.

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
I've tried driver 182.06 and I still can't get it to work in full screen. Is there anyone running Windows 7 that can confirm this will work with full screen at resolutions higher than 1024x768?
-
Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
Thanks, my settings are the same but I still have the problem. I might have to try that driver if it will work. What operating system are you on? What resolution are you running? I can get it to work in full screen but only at the lowest resolution and my native resolution is 1920x1200 so that's not going to work.

Are you using an nvidia card? If so, can you tell me what driver you're using? Also what are your nhancer settings if you have that?

Adaptive lighting effect for FSX
Does this work in full screen mode? For some reason when I'm in full screen mode with this activated, all I see is white. Works fine in window mode though. I'm not sure if it's a driver problem or what. This really is a great addon and sli could become useful with something like this if it is directing all of the effects to the video card. Through all the tweaking that's possible, this definitely takes flight sim to the next level.

Didn't work for me.

Windows 7 & FS Passengers
Well I'm at my wit's end on this one. I uninstalled all of the updates and it still didn't work. So then I re-installed Windows, FSX, Acceleration, and FsPassengers X, nothing else and it still didn't work. Not sure what I did to have it working that one time. Next thing I can try is the new build and hope that somehow fixes the problem but I know I had it working once with this build.

Windows 7 & FS Passengers
I get the same problem but I'm using FSX. I also have Windows 7 x64 (Build 7000). I had FSPassengers X working ONCE! But then one of my other add-ons was not working properly so I ended up re-installing Windows 7 and everything. Then after everything was re-installed, I go to try FSX again but all that happens when I click on FSX is the splash screen shows up but never gets past that. No crash, system does not freeze, just the splash screen sits there and nothing happens. Rename the fspassengersx.dll file and try it again, works fine! I have tried uninstalling and re-installing FSX. I have tried deleting the logbook.bin file and fsx.cfg file to no avail. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. It definitely is something to do with the fspassengers.dll file but there's more to it because I had this working fine once. The only other add-ons I have installed are UTX and GEN-X. It has to be something with the Windows updates because that's the only thing I can think of. Right now I'm downloading another build of Windows 7 but I am going to uninstall updates one by one to see if I can find the source of the problem. Also, please let us know if you or anyone else finds a solution to this problem.

Runtime Error 7
Problem solved. It was the dreaded msstdfmt.dll file that was missing. Funny though that Radar Contact did not mention that the file was missing. For anyone else that may have this problem in the future, download the msstdfmt.dll file and place it in the windowssystem folder, not the system 32 folder and register it by opening a command prompt, navigate to the windowssystem directory and type regsvr32 msstdfmt.dll
