  1. One more flight with TEST 4 DLL's out of Bangor KBGR ORBX NA Freeware ran like a champ Rick
  2. Thanks for the info, are you using real world weather, I use FSrealWX.PRO networked to another computer via widefs, which could be a possible cause for a CTD problem. I don't think so, I've been using this network setup for a long time and never had a problem of this nature. I think my readings are affected by pressure/density altitude, does weather affect engine performance in the flight model? This would affect fuel flow, and airspeed as my DIAS was a good 20 KIAS below the manual, which again could be affected by pressure/density altitude, as well as wind speed/direction, I had 75 knots behind me on the way there and 75 on the nose on my way back. I didn't calculate pressure/density altitude before the flight so I don't know if that might have been the problem, but it doesn't explain why the fuel flow went up 25 or 30 PPH as I lowered the flaps from 20 to 30, a 20 KIAS difference in airspeed, and an overall 275+lb difference fuel used per hour. Pressure/density altitude, can have a large effect on performance, but that's a lot I just thought I would post those findings as a possibility that it might have some bearing on this thread.....I think this discussion is better left for another thread Anyway it's 0 flight 30 here and I think I'm going to have to go out and take this little beauty around the block once.....ok.....maybe twice, I'll calculate Pressure/density altitude this time. metzgergve can I contact you with the performance results Thanks Rick
  3. ORBX KTVL has a problem of this nature where some aircraft will crash when you get to close to the runway edge. It did not create a CTD your plane would just crash.....the green bar This may or not apply but it's possible There's a number of posts in their forum about it.....search for KTVL..... Rick
  4. did 2 flights today with 100% fuel, 75% PAX and cargo, and the TEST 4 DLL's 1. flight from KFAR back to KFAR via MSP VOR couldn't get the autopilot to work.....I guess the turn wheel needs to be centered DOH!!!.....go figure, so I hand flew it and landed AT KMIC a smaller airport just a short distance from KMSP sin ran like a champ 2. flight from KFAR to KFAR via the MSP VOR this time.....after reading the manual a little.....I had the autopilot working and the flight went off without a hitch All ORBX airports from the freeware collection, none of the payware airports are ready for V4 yet so I have none of mine installed.....I can;t wait to fly this puppy from LOWI to ESSA..... This may or may not be retaliated I did some fuel calculations on this one and found some real discrepancies I was cruising at 17000 and set up the power according to the manual for 1100 torque meter horsepower, 2070 RPM, and 150 BMEP which should give a fuel flow of around 543 PPH, the gauges read about 625 PPH, and after doing the math it was really 827 PPH, also. when I was setting up for my approach as I lowered the flaps from 20 to 30 the fuel flow gauges had an increase of around 25 or 30 PPH without changing the power setting.....gremlins maybe..... Both flights went very smoothly, this aircraft is a real joy to fly Rick
  5. I agree I'm just going out to drive around the flag pole a couple times I usually only have half a fuel load on board it climbs much better when it's lighter, and approach speeds are a little slower I'll try a short flight with a full load of fuel and pax Rick
  6. TEST 4 Loaded her up, and flew from KFAR to KESC 2 hour flight Hard landing DOH!!! no CTD's, but it crash on exit Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7255 Faulting module name: api.dll, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7300 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000000155d1 Faulting process id: 0xa18 Faulting application start time: 0x01d31afc5b582e68 Faulting application path: F:\P3Dv4\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: F:\P3Dv4\api.dll Report Id: 9d2440f4-8706-11e7-b561-cc52af49c270 Same old crash we all get that one now and then Over all it ran really good Rick
  7. One more time around the patch at KFAR with the test 3 break free to test my theory on wide server this time I shut down weather and wide server before I shut down the sim and it worked taxied out flew around the flag pole a couple times landed and taxied back in no CTD, no crash on exit Ran like a champ Rick
  8. I don't use the AFE except for, pre start, pre taxi, and pre take off. not sure what might be causing that
  9. Test 3 break free Taxied out took off flew around the flag pole a couple times landed taxied in no problems Crashed on exit again though, this may have been caused by not shutting down Wide Server before shutting down the sim. Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7255 Faulting module name: api.dll, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7300 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000000155d1 Faulting process id: 0x11b4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d31a7934eb721d Faulting application path: F:\P3Dv4\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: F:\P3Dv4\api.dll Report Id: 20834c71-8676-11e7-aadc-cc52af49c270 I have noticed 1 thing though, and I'm sure it's for another discussion I set the engines for 1100 torque and I get 1000 torque air speeds, and 1200 torque fuel consumption Although I haven't done the math yet Rick
  10. Test 3 decel only taxied out took off flew around the flag pole a couple times landed no problems Crashed on exit Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7255 Faulting module name: api.dll, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7300 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000000155d1 Faulting process id: 0x10fc Faulting application start time: 0x01d31a70caa85cdf Faulting application path: F:\P3Dv4\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: F:\P3Dv4\api.dll Report Id: 90206d2d-866b-11e7-aadc-cc52af49c270 Will do the break free next Rick
  11. flight with test 2 DLL's KARR to KMIC 2:27 hours successful flight no ctd's ran like a charm hope to get 1 in later tonight or tomorow Rick
  12. Count me in as well this an awesome plane like all of PMDG's work and I'd like to help if I can I've flown it 4 times now since since following the F.A.Q. at PMDG 3 successful, 1 CTD.....for now I'm chocking the 1 CTD up to the occasional CTD that we all experience from time to time.....I don't have a lot of them but it's the nature of the beast.....3 out of 4 so far ain't bad, I'm confident that the next flight will be a successful one https://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a112/important-and-nearly-foolproof-steps-to-running-your-pmdg-product-in-prepar3d-v3.aspx The only thing I can see is that I had 1 of the 2 error logging types enabled, after disabling it it seems to run like a champ I; However did also install C++2005 X64 at about the same time DOH!!! it could be that as well.....I don't think so as I'm sure if the DC-6 needed that it would be part of the installer I'm sure I'll be flying it again before the weekend is over.....it is an amazing plane Rick P.S. If we could find a way to lighten up on the panel lighting as it's a serious hog, and way to bright It's also kind of hard to see the needles on the OMNI head.....day or night.....
  13. yesterday was the first flight of around 10 where it went start to finish if it didn't crash while I was taxiing out it would take off and fly all the way till the wheels touched the ground then CTD very frustrating I will be taking her around the patch again tonight we'll see what happens.....maybe 2 in a row Rick
  14. You say had.....did you fix it?.....if so what did you do I also made sure that the visual C++ 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015 are installed both X86, and X64 I'm no expert but another addon I have would crash until I had the right visual C++ installed some addons will install their own version of those programs and will have a different version number Non the less before I did this I couldn't taxi out sometimes, and it would always CTD right after the wheels touched It now is running way better, and another addon that I was having trouble with is running like a champ Rick
  15. I just had a successful flight after following the F.A.Q. at PMDG the sim ran like a charm 1. Make certain your PMDG product is the only airplane that P3D loads into memory. 2. Be sure to get the latest version of your PMDG product by downloading from your PMDG user account. 3. Make certain you have all of the older simconnect versions installed. There are 4 4. Turn off and ignore "Error Logging" in P3D. THERE 2 ERROR LOGGING TYPES BOTH SHOULD BE SHUT OFF https://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a112/important-and-nearly-foolproof-steps-to-running-your-pmdg-product-in-prepar3d-v3.aspx I hope this wasn't just a 1 in 10 flight but it seemed to run a whole lot better now all I have to do is figure out the fuel system Rick
