  1. I figured out my problem: I had Hyperthreading turned off in bios. Turned it on and FPS 100+, but when I turn on v-sync, my frames drop to 30, as if v-sync is set to 1/2 refresh rate.
  2. What frames do you have with default settings? Our systems are near identical
  3. What is speed tree? Im new to prepar3d btw
  4. Did so, with a loss of about 8 more FPS. Prepar3d uses sli
  5. My monitors refresh rate is 60 HZ. Default settings had me at about 18 FPS default flight.
  6. My system: Intel 4790 @ 4.9ghz, 16gb DDR3, (2) 1080 GTX's. A robust computer. Windows 7 64 Professional. All drivers, updates, activex libraries, etc up to date. New to Prepar3d, just purchased and installed V4 to a custom, user-defined location on my c-drive. Above average, however not maxed out settings, I can not get the sim any higher that 13-22 FPS. Tried disabling second video card, frames went to single digits. I even moved all sliders to the left and was shocked to see frames did not budge. I'm reading post by people with similar or less powerful computers excited about the amazing performance and solid 60 FPS. Can someone please help me figure this out? BTW I have FSX Acelleration maxed out at a solid 30FPS in hi-fidelity aircraft, weather, and terrain.
  7. I was under the impression Prepar3d was sli enabled? I'm down to 13 FPS with second card disabled.
  8. I'm new to Prepar3d. Just installed today with a fairly robust computer (4790 @ 4.9 ghz, two 1080 GTX's, 16 GB DDR3) Fairly modest settings, can get frames above 22fps. I was thinking this was going to be awesome, but I'm getting far more amazing performance from FSX. What do I need to do do bump up to a solid 60 FPS? Edit: Just lowered all graphical settings, cannot get FPS above 30 no matter what.
  9. Thanks! I'm sure I just need to get it set up right. I love the interface though
  10. Jim, new to Prepar3d w/ V4 today. Can you post your settings? I'm using a 4790K @4.9, two 1080 GTX's in SLI, and 8gb ddr3. Mostly maxed out settings w/ frames hovering around mid-teens to low 20's.
  11. I currently have FSX: Acceleration installed on a user-defined location on my SSD. With the release of Prepar3d V4 tomorrow, I want to purchase and install it. My question is: (1) Can I install it without any issues with the existing FSX, and (2) Is there anything else I must do other than purchase, download, and install to prevent conflicts with FSX? The reason I ask is because two weeks ago, I installed FSX-Steam, and it ruined FSX, it utilized my FSX.CFG even though FSX-Steam was located in the Steam file directory.
  12. I been getting habitual 'apphangb1' freezes. I posted on the AVSIM CTD forum, no fix. I read the CTD guide, versions 1 & 2, no fix. I've google searched all over the place...no fix, no one has an answer. I've been told it's not and FSX problem...HOWEVER, FSX is the ONLY program of many I get this error, and most notably I only get it in the NGX, 99% of the time during the 20-second countdown aircraft initialization. Started the PMDG 747 QOTS II several times, no issue. No issue with the 777. No issue with Majestic Dash 8, nor any Carenado aircraft. No problem with FSLabs A320. But my preferred flagship; the NGX, is Apphangb1 city. I can get it going about 1 out of every 7-10 attempts. My OS: Windows 7 64, Intel 4790 @ 4.9ghz, 16gb DDR3, 1080GTX in SLI, using an SSD, FSX in DX10 preview with Steves DX10 fixer, NVI Inspector profile. All drivers updated, directx libraries up to date, correct uiautomationcore.dll in main FSX directory, highmemfix=1 in FSX.cfg, memory tested/passed, Windows scanned for errors/missing .dlls, no errors. Due to not having any other program, app, or aircraft with the same error, I'm thinking either a repair or reinstallation of the NGX? Any thoughts or suggestions? Who's had this problem in the past, doesn't have it anymore, and what did you do to repair it? Thanks!

  14. Looks like I'm not the only one...I been getting habitual 'apphangb1' freezes. I posted on the AVSIM CTD forum, no fix. I read the CTD guide, versions 1 & 2, no fix. 15. Based upon all the material I have read regarding the apphangB1 crash, I'm convinced its an issue outside of FSX and inside windows. Notably, sometimes when I boot into windows 7 64 the last 1.5 weeks, I have been receiving a warning message on screen: AisuiteIII: Access violation at address 002AA689. Read of address 002AA689. Almost every time I see that, I get apphangb1's in FSX. Most of the time, if not all the time, if I don't see that message, I only get apphangb1's if I push FSX to. Also, when I don't get the message, the FSX flight set up screen is much more responsive. I think I'm getting closer to resolving this. I have a feeling this may be related to the most recent nvidia drivers.
  16. So last night I had a good run, I loaded a flight, and changed locations several times trying to indice an apphang...didn't happen. I exited and reopened FSX about 6 times, each time loading a different complex aircraft (PMDG) in different HIFI airports; no crashes. Today I start my computer and can't even load a flight anywhere without an apphangb1.
  17. Ran the repair tool and testing...
  18. Jim, everything is updated, non-corrupted, good to go. I am having no issues with other programs like DCS, etc. Apphangb1 now happens 100% of the time within about a minute. I did't place a UIautomation.dll anywhere, the one in sys32 is: 6.1.7600.16385, size 733kb, dated 7/13/09. I doubt the issue is related to uiautomationcore.dll due to the similarity/time of the issue no matter which one is in there. Net framework is up to date, visual is up to date, dirext x installed is 11. The apphangb1 freeze manifest itself either during the loading of the flight or initialization of the PMDG NGX. If I switch to windowed mode and open an addon program sush as GSX, EZCA, etc, I usually get a hang as well.
