Unfortunately, I'm back to square one...whatever is causing the issue (ChasePlane stuck at "Initializing") still lingers in the background; root cause not found. Still looking for your help Kev (or anyone else). Regards, George.

Resolved: Full uninstall/reinstall of ChasePlane via VFXCentral. Got back Presets but had to again setup Preferences (button and axis mappings), etc. Apparent cause was "splashscreens" that either got corrupted or were removed. All's well that ends well. Cheers! Regards, George.

Hey Keven, Thanks for your response. Yes, I have two monitors and may have changed the resolution of one or both. It's interesting however that this only started happening after the recent update and I answered "Yes" for Windows Defender exclusion. Also, curious that the app seems to be stuck in "Initializing" even though it's running. I've changed the registry entry and will report back shortly, once done; fingers crossed I'll be able to get Chaseplane app up on desktop to be able to see presets and options like Replay, etc. Regards, George

Hello folks, Since the last update (with option to exclude Windows Defender/AV scan) I've been having this weird issue. Chase plane starts (kinda) and shows on the Windows Taskbar but with the word "Initializing" not a view of the presets. Clicking or hovering over the Taskbar icon does nothing. Chaseplane is running in the background and I can use mapped joystick button to switch from virtual cockpit to outside, then flip between presets. I cannot get to the other presets however as the application doesn't show up on the desktop. Thanks for any help with this. Cheers!

Maarten, I'm loving your amazing tool (with P3Dv4) and was almost forced to renew my Navigraph subscription. I've installed AIRAC 1710 but the "Use AIRAC Cycle" button on the Home tab is grayed out. What am I doing wrong? George

I have been having terrible stutters/pause in FSX at approx 50 second intervals. I turned on monitoring through Perfmon and noticed there is a spike in the read activity on the HD around the same time the stutters/pause happen. Does anybody know if a 120GB SSD would eliminate the disk access delay (Perfmon spike) and improve smoothness in FSX? I have defragged with OO Defrag and applied several tweaks (all the important ones from Bojote, Nick, etc); my textures are crisp and otherwise the game is fairly smooth, even with FPS at 12-15. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hello David, this is a slightly different problem but perhaps you can help me too.......since the last few days when I click on the DOWNLOAD dial I get a corrupted screen and the download doesn't start. This only happens from the AVSIM site. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Turn "aircraft cast shadows on the ground" off......uncheck the option under Options, Display, Aircraft (tab). I don't remember the technical explanation but it's a known issue and I believe caused by texture conflict (addon scenery vs AI aircraft)George.

Yes, I use Bojote's Shader 3.0.......could that be the culprit? I have a GTX 260 video card so may not see any performance/visual impact if I disable and revert to Shader 2.0. What should I do???@Ryan: It doesn't happen if I uncheck light bloom and keep ENB acive; sorry if I confused you. I see the performance impact of FSX native light bloom but I can still fly.

Thanks for the suggestion Ryan but the effect is not the same.....I've tried both but like the standard FSX bloom effect, now that I have the power the run it. Any further suggestions or is this just how it is? If so, I'll reluctantly use the ENB series bloom because the large sun at night coming from the core of the earth rather annoying.

Wondering if there's a fix/tweak or way to avoid this happening. I upgrade my PC to one with the power to handle FSX including light bloom fairly well (FPS in the low teens is okay for me) and smoothly. As the sun circles the globe, at night the sun creates this annoying bright light through the earth. Only happens when light bloom is selected.
